Yep. Vent art. I usually don't have much to vent about... I'm a generally cheerful person. But, lately, I've been feeling awfully stressed. Expectations, expectations, and expectations. Everyone expects so much of me. My friends, teachers, and especially my parents. What they don't seem to understand is that it takes work to get where I am... And lately, I haven't been feeling up to it. Illness, legarthy. One day, I would just like a break.

Also, I'm being faced with a whole lot of difficult choices -ones that will affect my future immensely. And... I don't know what to do. D:

...I honestly don't know what to say besides that I am unbelievably happy with the way it turned out, especially the background. I actually spent a couple hours on it :D
I recently got pressure sensitivity and this started out as just a sketch and experiment, then ended up as a full on drawing :3 THis is probably my first drawing not abusing my blur and smudge to get shading/lighting smooth because of the pressure thingy. The only time I used blur was the s/l on the pond and person just to make is semi-smoother looking, otherwise, everything was just strokes with the pressure sensitivity ^_^

Comments/positive crits *coughandlikescough* are majorly appreciated! ^_^ ~<3

Very well done, LunaSoul! You did a great job on this whole oekaki! =D
The character is wonderfully drawn, but I particularly like how you didn't just skip over the background as many good artists tend to do. It looks wonderful. :)
The only suggestion I might make is to add a little tree-reflection in the pond to make it more... shiny. I like shiny things. :P
You could duplicate one of the tree-trunks, flip it upside-down, and then lay it at a low opacity over the pond. A little bit of brushing over with the soft eraser is a nice way to touch the reflection up a bit. ;]
