Cleaning out my saves
by ~Pandasilk~ @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 4:36 pm [Reply]

This has been sitting in my unfinished pile forever. Finally thought I'd get it out there.
The timer is way off, this took me 5 minutes to draw and about 20 to decide weather to post this or not.

Fire
by Dragonette_11 @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 11:28 am [Reply]

WELL..
I was originally going to draw two people.. But I just couldn't draw the guy.
So THIS is what happened.
I was also going to post to beginners.. But decided I'd give intermediate a shot since I really need to get better at Oekaki.
So feel free to move it to beginners or where ever you deem it worthy at mods x3
Like, the drawing part to Oekaki, not coloring.
So I hope I did good! I just had this vision of my female character Elizabeth out in the dark.. alone.. a wee bit scared..
And there was fire..
So yea o3o
Enjoy!
Comments and likes are appreciated,
thank you <3

sparky246 @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 12:14 pm

Looks very nice! You'll get Alvere eventually!

Dragonette_11 @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 4:26 pm

Why thank you x3 I'll hopefully be able to put some time in attempting Alvere after my spring break. I sorta have a big engineering project that I gotta work on o3o

Renee Winterwood
by Lepid @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 1:02 pm [Reply]

>3< .... I really needed a ref for her...
Oh what is it you see? Winterwood?
Pfft... Silver totally didn't have a 4th and final kid... Hahaha what gave you that idea? eDe

This is Renee though, the half demon child who can hypnotize others easily with her command if she chooses.
You can tell she dresses... Differently from everyone. Hehe. I really like her OwO

Timer is correct.. I tried a bg for once and the hair failed me...

InuImori @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 3:30 pm

Lepid @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 3:32 pm

Pssh this?
Scoot I told you, you can draw WAY better than I! XD Especially at humans...
But thanks for the comment. C:

Whelp, I still don't have the java thing sorted out, but I'm using a friends computer right now.
Frankly, I don't know what this it. The creature was inspired by a mob in the phone app Pixel Gun 3D, level nine. I have no idea what the mob is called, I don't even know if there is an official name for them, but I just call them skin children because I can.
I have no idea why I chose to draw something resembling a phone app mob, or why it has a sock puppet, but I did.

MiniJini's alter-ego is Ninjini.
MiniJini would have to be my fave Skylanders Sidekick!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Ninjini, Skylanders, nor Minijini.

She's pretty fabu
Look at her awesome hair and punk-ness
ouo
I like her a lot ^^
She's got this tattoo (I'm not entirely sure on the design of it yet, I'm open to suggestion or if there are any tattoo designers/artists out there that'd be great ouo) on her left arm, the same side her underscore is on for her hair. Three five ear piercings, two on one and three on the other, and one belly ring. Her eyes are hazel with yellow-gold flakes with bright green centers. Her skins got an olive complexion and she doesn't really have any beauty marks or freckles.
She's got a pretty go-getter attitude in the sense she'll put her foot where she wants before checking the ice for cracks, y'know? She ain't afraid to make way for herself, but she definitely isn't selfish or shallow or "all-high-and-mighty".
She's pretty positive most of the time, real snarky and sarcastic too but in a good way. she loves a good sense of humor and takes to those types of people better. She isn't serious often, but when she is she'll get whatever she's set her mind to done.
I like her C:

Munca @ Sun Mar 02, 2014 7:22 pm

Just wanted to say something~

Don't ever let anybody tell you how to do your art. It's your art, and your voice. Contrary to popular belief, art isn't about how "real" something looks. It's about if it comes from your heart.

Sorry this is just one of my pet peeves. I'll leave now.

Edit- great job by the way! Forgot to say that

Redline based on this drawing by Dio-Sama
by DoctorDraca @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 7:34 am [Reply]

Please, take these redlines with a grain of salt.

If you're going to draw abs, I suggest you either have some basic thin lines ready before you complete them with shading, or that you find other ways to define them. Thick full lines will make it look stiff and unrealistic. Also, there's many types of six packs if you're going for those. The best advice I can give you is to look up refs. Just search for 'male torso' in google and you'll find plenty of refs.

Also, you were really overcomplicating the pants. Depending on how baggy the pants are, there can be many folds. However, you make it a little easier on you to draw the folds where they're most likely to happen. Not really a critique, but more of a tip. c:

Oh, and another little tip: draw the head first. Drawing the head in later will cause issues and frustration. You can always edit the sizes and whatnot during your sketch stage so don't worry about that, but if you draw a torso first and then the head, it's gonna give you a headache.

I'm not sure how you started on the drawing, but I like to build up most of my drawings in this manner. With circles where the joints are and overall smooth shapes to define the limbs. If you work with circles and ellipses, it gets a little easier to connect things and have your body look nicer overall.

Hands are also hard, so have these:

I didn't know there was many different types of six packs, that's interesting to know. c: yes I will look up refs for them in the future but I kinda went a bit ''yolo'' with it, sorry for using that term xD..

Yeah I think I did way to many folds like it was a cartoon style although the body wasn't very...cartoony, which isn't the style I was going for anyway.

I need to make it a habit of drawing the head first cause it'll bite me in the rear later :b
I'm getting there though. I did draw this earlier and I am improving.

Thanks for the advice/tips it really does help and I like how you did it. it's really neat.

You know..it's kind of an honor you helping me xD cuz I liked your art for awhile hehe

DoctorDraca @ Sun Mar 09, 2014 8:07 am

Well.. types. I just mean that they can look a bit different depending on the person who's sporting them. They can be noticeable, or they can be subtle. It really depends. Depends on how much and how the person works out too.

That's a real improvement, though! It looks so much better with the muscles being defined by shading. Well done!

And I'm glad I was able to help you. c:
