um yh this one's messier but running outta time

just coloring in so i can save the sketch c:

finally starting to understand figure drawing and such
using this stock photo as a reference

critiques are warmly welcomed, I can't get better if I don't know what I'm doing wrong!

-although right now it's just a rough sketch so there are some things I'm going to polish out and fix-

A quickly sketches character concept for a group comic I'm in :3 I wasn't really sure what I wanted him to look like, but the common difference all of the sketches have is a tall, muscular structure and 'tough guy' look to them. His name is Killian and Killian sounded like a tough kinda name X3 I'm most likely going to combine some of the elements of each sketch into one or two more, then down to his finalized design.

Sketch 1 ;
- Shaved hair on either side of mohawk
- sleeveless jacket over t-shirt
- fingerless gloves
- belt and loose-ish jeans
- lace up/combat style boots

Sketch 2 ;
- Bald with scar on right side of head
- ripped right ear with ear rings on both ears
- collared shirt with sleeves rolled
- thick belt with baggy pants
- pants tucked into tall laced up/ combat style boots

Sketch 3 ;
- spiked mohawk, bald on sides
- two stud ear rings and one loop on both ears, various scars running down both sides of head, cut on right side of mouth
- loose tank shirt with flame graphic
- bandaged wrists and hands
- tight/skinny jeans
- sneakers

(don't know what the timer says but it lies!!) Also, sorry its a little rough, I had to draw it with the wrong hand. Also, I tried to slightly stylize it to fit your style. Okay, some tips;
1.) Keep the lines the same thickness or change the thickness gradually. I noticed on the legs and arms you go straight from thick to thin lines. Your lines will look much neater if you stick with one thickness.
2.) Shoulders do not have humps (meaning they do not go down then up). If the characters hands are not above the shoulders, and the character is not shrugging, the shoulders should in most cases slant down.
3.) If hands are hard, draw fists. Fists are usually much easier than hands and bonus! they make your character look tougher.
4.) Draw circles for the joints. Marking joints with circles will help you one, bend the joints in the correct places, and two, make it easier to draw the limbs the same length.
5.) Basic proportioning. The body is usually longer than you drew it, the arms are usually longer than you drew them. You didn't draw all of the legs so I don't know about that.
6.) Try to use a different layer for color. The lock alpha function is also useful for coloring.
7.) face proportions. Your eyes and mouth are beautiful! Just remember the eyes go in the middle of the face, an eyes width apart. The nose goes half way between the eyes and the chin. The mouth goes half way between the nose and the chin. and don't forget the eyebrows!
8.) The hair is in a braid yes? Well first of all, she has lots of hair on the top of her head and not a lot in the braid, hair should be even all the way around the head.

For a while, I've had an idea of a fanfic featuring personified Zelda games as characters. The only character I actually have a design for so far is Skyward Sword. Her face looks a bit weird, but overall I'm proud of this.

• Skywa has an interest in all things aviation.
• She has wings. Nobody knows if they're real or not.
• Her goggles don't do anything. Or do they...?
