It's story time again, boys and girls. 8D

It had taken the wounded soldier three days of little to no sleep and plenty of walking to reach the headquarters of the Light Force. The journey had completely drained him of all energy and he longed to stop for more than an hour, but he had to reach his destination before his time ran out. He trudged wearily into the town's square, keeping out of sight and walking in between the civilians and market-goers. He kept his head tilted slightly downward and avoided any eye contact as he weaved in and out of the crowds of people.

Must be a vending day, he thought silently. The square in his village was never this full. He didn't mind the dozens of people, though, as it was easier to blend in with the many different townspeople and travelers. The soldier tried his best to maintain a borderline speed walking pace, but he had to slow it down a bit after the gash in his left side began to protest. He was greatly relieved when he approached his destination.

He was heaving in the air as he climbed the steps to the building. After days of walking on foot across the rough, dirt roads and paths to arrive here, the young man felt as if he could collapse on the very steps he was climbing. When he reached the looming, wooden doors, two guards narrowed their watchful eyes as the stranger came up to them.

"Identify yourself and your business here," the heavy built guard to the left demanded. He didn't like the looks of this newcomer and was usually right about his suspicions.

"I... need to see... C-Captain Atlas Thoorlander," the soldier huffed, nearly gasping for breath. The stairs had completely winded him and the guards eyed him with unease.

"And your name?" prompted the left guard impatiently. "Random folk from who knows where can't just come running up and be granted entry, y'know."

The soldier hesitated before deciding whether or not to give his real identity. He decided to give it a go and hope to the gods that the guards wouldn't recognize him.

"Dragan Th-Thoorlander," he replied, silently hoping that his name would blow over the two guards' heads. To his good fortune, it did and guards stepped aside to allow Dragan entry.

He nodded to the guards and stepped past them briskly. Dragan did not want them to revoke his admission this soon if one of them came to realize just who Dragan was. The exhausted soldier made his way into the main room, swiveling his eyes around to examine his surroundings.

"Dragan." A voice startled him briefly and he whipped his head around to face the direction of the sound of his name. To his astonishment, there stood the person he had come to see, just coming out of a nearby hallway. He looked equally surprised and made his way over to the fatigued soldier.

"What are you doing here? How did you get here? Why are you-" The avalanche of questions poured out of the young captain's mouth faster than Dragan could think of something to say. He waved off Atlas' questions and replaced them with his own.

"Is there somewhere where we can talk, alone?" he asked in his low, rumbling tone that signaled that he was not in the mood to deal with anyone's antics.

"Yeah, um, follow me," Atlas replied and simply stared at the soldier for a moment before pivoting and walking back towards the hall.

He lead Dragan into another big area and walked over to the large staircase. He was fairly confused with Dragan's sudden appearance and really wanted some explanations.

"Well, get talking," Atlas said after a few moments of silence; aside from Dragan's panting.

"I need your help," Dragan finally answered quietly. "The Dark Force is turning against itself and I... I can't stay there. I was wrong and... and none of this needed to happen and I only escaped a few days ago to travel here and I can't stop thinking about all of this and there could be a war starting and-"

"Hold up, hold up," Atlas interrupted and waved his hand to stop Dragan's run on sentence. "You just now realize that this was all a mistake on your part?"

"Yes, I did," Dragan said between gasps for air. He soon found himself bending down on one knee and placing a shaky hand on the twisting staircase to his left. His other hand subconsciously felt for the biting wound on his side.

"It took you two entire years to admit to being wrong?" Atlas asked again with growing fury.

"Please... hear me out, Atlas..." Dragan pleaded.

"And you really think that I can offer you help after all you've done in the past," Atlas growled. "You disgust me, Dragan."

"Forget the past for a moment, brother," Dragan said with his growing pain beginning to seep into his voice.

"Forget the past?! How can I possibly do that when the past is so bold. It will not be forgotten this easily," the captain turned away and clasped his hands behind his back to keep himself from lunging at his older sibling. "You have brought a big disgrace to our family name and you know it."

"Atlas... please... I-I'm sorry..." Dragan's voice had been slowly dying away and it finally gave way after his last words. He then collapsed on the floor and fell unconscious. Atlas squeezed his eyes shut, let out a pent up breath, and turned to face his brother again. He stared at the young man lying in a crumpled heap on the stone floor in silence.

Atlas then strode out of the room and retrieved the medical team. He lead them to his knocked out brother and they quickly removed him from the floor and took him to the emergency ward. Atlas watched them leave, but did not follow. He remained in the room, rethinking the brief conversation.

Anyways, here are some old characters of mine and stuff, not too exciting XD I've spent seriously all day off and on drawing this, so it does have effort in it. I might type something else here tomorrow since I just spent about an hour typing the story XD
