Ok so I was bored and wanted to draw my dog. X3 Because I think my dog is just adorable. He is a 10 year old pug with one eye. And I love him so much I made a oekaki with him. ^^ Well I hope you guys like it. Do not take his design...It'd be kinda weird considering in real life he is like my best bud. o.0

So lately my good friend asked me to do a Border Collie for him. I couldn't find any good inspiration until yesterday when I went walking and a Border actually stuck his butt high in the air and crossed his forelegs on his chest like this and stared at me with an adorable expression. I could not pass this cute look up.

You definitely show a lot of potential with your work, getting the base structure pretty well, but there are still some errors that I can see.

The head and snout appear a little too small. As for the ears, your wolf is very alert looking with his head up like that, so his ears should be facing forward. The easiest way to tell where to place the ears is to follow the jaw line. Like--

Also, the eye should be smaller and closer to the nose.

For the back, wolves have a very slight slope, so it won't cave in like a horse-- http://wolfdog.ws/assets/images/autogen/a_Skeleton.jpg -- but they have a lot of fur on their rump, so it APPEARS that they do not have a back slope so much-- http://lupinicious.deviantart.com/art/G ... ious&qo=24

For the legs, the joints on your wolf are a little too straight and chunky. Their hind knees are lower, and their legs are much slimmer. -- http://sikaris.deviantart.com/#/d349kow -- that is an AMAZING wolf ref for fullbody anatomy, even paws.
For paws, wolves do have very big paws, but they squish down quite a lot when they stand. All of the toes are also not the same size. Some toes-- the middle two-- will pop out more, while the other two fall back a bit.

Showing a nice bump around the shoulders/chest can really help to pronounce your wolf's anatomy. The shoulders don't blend down right into the legs in a smooth line; they slope back, before going down with the foreleg. Then there is a bump where the wolves' "wrist" is, and the rest of it is all paw. (see the skeleton).


The tail comes right off of the spine, and should be a little higher up, as well as maybe a little fluffier. Tails do tend to fall into the lines of personal preference, however. x)

Reference as much as possible, and never stop practicing!
It helps to keep a store of references to bring up while you are drawing. All of the references included here are stored up in my canine bookmark folder.

For most of you today is Halloween! Not for me =(. Tomorrow is Halloween. Ths is the big suprise that i know you've all been waiting for.. A new species that is sort of like a wolf, but not completly so don't judge the antonmy it's suppose to look like that. >=O. Anyways i drew a designed male in the front (you can tell he's a male because he has a horn). Then i drew a black/greyish male a litle farther back. Whho is also a male. Then i drew my furnosa! =D. I think i really like ho the dands turned out. Even though it took me forever anad my hand was getting tired. Timer is about 10 hours off (lol). I came up with all the designs except my furnosa, bt the species and drawing is copyright to me. I hope this is intermediate enough for you guys.
