A little chipmunk snacking on a grape. Anatomy could be better and so could could the paws, so any tips on that would be very much appreciated! I didn't spend too much time on the background, but I wanted the focus to be on the chipmunk mostly. Sessions are not completely accurate; I sometimes just changed one little detail. Timer is correct though. The ref is simply the cutest photo of a chipmunk I have ever seen! I just wanna feed it!!
Please post tips, crits, and comments! I love getting helpful feedback!

PS- This picture is dedicated to the chipmunk under my house who is a new mommy <3

.... That the floating crystals are called snowflakes.

This is a character I'm trying for from the Pound of Hope, her name is Sprinkles.
I always kinda pictured her as a Minnesotan tour guide, haha.

Anyway, first snows today here in Minnesota, so I was inspired to draw this.
The lines are just a redlining I did for someone earlier today.

you may be a Funke fan :D , but have you read the book dragon Rider :?: if you havn't this is Nettlebrand the evil dragon hunter :o he eats silver dragons and was created by an alchemist who made him out of gold. the black shapes are his Raven messenger spies and he smells the silver dragons are not far away(hence the silver mist)

Being an art teacher rules :)

Before you begin it is important you find a good reference, especially if your anatomy skills could do with some work.

After choosing a pose, begin drawing the main parts of your wolf. There are generally three sections; the head, the torso and the abdomen, all of which can be represented by creating semi-circular shapes in their place.

Then, possibly with the help of an image of a wolf/dog skeleton, begin adding the legs. To do this, draw a continuous line forming the 'bones' in each leg. If you feel you are a beginner, drawing smaller circles at each of the joints may help.

Next, from the upmost point of the head, start a line all the way down the wolf's back. When it reaches the end of the abdomen circle, draw the tail. Make sure this is more wavy than the 'spine' but still follows the flow of the wolf's body.

After you have done this, Add in the ear that is nearest the 'viewer', the forehead and the top of the muzzle. If you have done it right, you should have something like this :)
