Okay, this is for an Equidius Adoption contest I entered. It is based off of Verdana's species: The Equidius.

Darwolves live deep within the underground caves, and the only creatures to know of their existance usually didn't survive long enough to spread the word. They're six small eyes are blind, having been in the dark for so long, but they have evolved several antenna and sensors that they use to "see" with. Darwolves hunt in packs of seven, and can move with blinding speed. Because of where they dwell, not many have seen their true form, but they would be viewing a mangy, skraggly animal indeed. Don't let their appearance fool you though, for they're absolutely lethal in a fight. When one member of a pack scents out prey, it begins frothing a pungent pheromone to alert the others. They too begin to froth, and the chase is on for as long as the prey can hold out. This pheromone can also be used as a warning sign, but only to those expertly trained to it's subtle aroma. Their claws are like daggers, and they're toes grew futher apart to better adapt to the rocky terrain. The males tend to have a row of spikes on their forhead, and there can be as many as 4 in a good specimen. Maturing at one year, it's said that they can live to be as old as twenty.

Wow- I haven't drawn on the oekaki in a long, long time. >_<

That being said, I apologize. :lol:

This is based on a random urge to draw a colorful Eastern dragon and experiment with coloring, which I think out turned well.

I'll be adding a background, scales, and a few accessories to this one later, since it was in my original game plan and I'm kind of falling in love with it. ^^ Also, I am debating on shading it since the coloring of the dragon accentuates its body already.

Oh, and no references used- this is 100% my work based off of what I envision Easterns as. And yes, I know mine isn't nearly as snaky as other depictions. I just like it better this way.

@Elta+ Orb- With a mouse and some patience. XD I kind of abused the airbrush tool to make the colors blend like that. ^^

I added more to the backdrop, and I actually think she looks good without more accessories or shading, so this is the final edit unless I go back to tweak minor details. n_n
