A sketch for a pokemon idea.

"Petagon, the Petal Dragon Pokemon. Petagon is a small pokemon that flits around patches of flowers, like a large hummingbird, looking for the prettiest flowers to decorate its nest with. Groups of Petagon, called 'Bouquets', often congregate in flowerless fields to create a new garden. As each flower they create matches their tails, many different colors and designs of flowers are in the gardens. It is said that no two Petagon have the same petal patterns on their tails. Their soft petal-like tail-feathers are often illegally sold in shops for their luminescent glow and healing properties. If a Petagon loses all three feathers on the tail, it dies, and the flowers it created previously all wilt, for without the magical lifeforce of the Petagon, which the flowers feed on, they will not survive."

It's a Dragon/Psychic type. They're about 3 feet long, and are fairly rare in the regions of Unova, seen only in large fields of flowers (similar to Shaymin's gardens, as they can create flowers that have the designs and colors of their tails.). Owning one is good luck, and the way to tell if a Petagon is healthy is to check how many tail-feathers it has left. As Petagon get older, they lose feathers. They do, however, live for a very long time, about the same age as humans, and few have died from old age. Petagon also have a fear of fire, for if they get too close to the flames, their feathers could catch fire.


I love creating new species of pokemon. ^^ My 2 favorites are Rochean and Petagon.

This is frost my first ever character! i did this a while ago so it's not that good...

A WIP of an African Wild Dog. This was kind of a quick sketch. ;)

EDIT: Finished! Oh, and this did NOT take 3 hours! It was 1 hour, because the freeking thing wouldn't save, so I had to run a virus scan thing, which took around two hours. Anywho, I like how he turned out! Might be a new character of mine...not sure though.

i am not good at this but it sure is fun.

I posted this in Intermediate because I know I'm not amazing, but I've drawn enough to sort of be experience, and I want critique so I can GET better. Needless to say, I want tips on making this better.

I just barely learned to layer and sort of shade. But it was really fun to do. This is a bit more of an angular style than I'm used to, but I think it works well with the right now nameless character. I got lazy with the background though xD.

This is a Ferret, I drew it because they are my most favourite animals ever! I'm hoping I can get one for Christmas, but the chances are extremely low

I might come back to it later to improve it a little, I really don't like how the face and head turned out

Yes, it is very fluffy (That was one of my main goals on this picture)

Alright, Thedogandcat, here's your first lineart. Sorry it took me so long. I've been incredibly busy, especially with Christmas right around the corner. Gahh, that shading took forever. My eyes are burned out *_*

This lineart also include Wolf ears, normal mouth and happy mouth, plus a lock-alpha layer for everything.

How does it look? Would you like me to change anything?
