Who am I? Where am I? (vent)
This is not bashing straight people. No matter who you are, you are valid. This image depicts my frustration with keeping up a faux facade For as long as I remember, I have been taught to hate the LGBTQ+ community. My family had groomed me into believing terrible things about them, and up until about the beginning middle school, I was homophobic. This however, was not my choice. I was taught to think this way, and for the longest time, I thought it was normal.
When I hit about 7th grade, I noticed something. I had a crush on a girl. but I was a girl. This couldn't be right. There's no way. Guys are supposed to like girls, girls are supposed to like guys. I brushed it off, but I couldn't keep myself from thinking about her. Now to my point. Up to about the beginning of June this year, I refused to believe I was lesbian. I had never even uttered the word, aside from uncomfortably playing along with some of my family's crude jokes. But something about that changed. As before I had been telling myself that it was all in my head, I decided to embrace it. I didn't come out, and I don't think I ever will, but I've stopped beating myself up about it. When I was in 7th grade, I absent mindedly told my mother that I liked girls. She refused to believe me, and shrugged it off. Since that point I had lied to myself about my sexuality. Even getting a "boyfriend" to pretend everything was alright. It wasn't, and that relationship didn't last long. I'm so stressed, helpless, and unsure right now. I wish I could just lock myself up I'm sorry for the rant. Writing and drawing is an extremly good way to blow off steam for me. |

ive tried to tell my dad im lesbian a few times before but he thinks ''im not old enough to know'' at least youve found yourself. hope your family and mine will one day understand, great art as always dearie!
