Timer's super wack so I left all my failed versions on the canvas, animating this would hardly take 8 hours LOL. It's only 4 drawings, +3 versions for blinks :P

might either make a few adopts out of this kid or a whole species bc i kinda like em ,,

their rarity would depend probably mostly on their beaks, crystals and eyes!!
different crystal and beak shapes would be less common, so would be open and/or more eyes

i don't feel like or have time to tell his whole backstory, but let's say in summary--he hated his reflection and self, then (by a greater god of some sort) was pierced with pieces of shattered mirrors, first being the large piece near his spine. he can't feel this pain, only at specific moments, and they constantly change places, but the one in his back stays. here he is sitting on a wall observing himself through a mirror, constantly seeing his reflection.
other characters in this story are anxiety, pacifica (my friend named her don't ask), arrowhead, and fig. i'll try to draw them next weekend.
