Hiroto is a hybrid dragon that has several different elements of nature in his blood. However, in the dragon world, this is not considered a good thing because it means that he is not 'purebred' and is actually a 'mutt'. Because his blood isn't 'pure', it is instinctual for other dragons to attack him on sight and, in most other cases, an 'impure' dragon is killed on the day of hatching. Hiroto, however, was lucky enough to be born in a place that does not practice such things as they are respectful and protective of all dragon species, whether or not they are 'pure'.
