Rust red. The same color as dried blood. The same color as the sealed iron door with hinges locked in place. The door that seals away her heart. That's what her arms looked like after that night, so she wraps them up tries to forget about all the memories that resurface upon their sight.

She stalks the abandoned streets at night, the once smooth streets jutting up along the path. It's better in the dark, when she doesn't have to look into their faces. Those who never believed in her, and worse - those who do.

They like to joke her bark is worse than her bite, but her words always tend to bite down hard. To anyone who gets too close. Because she messed up, once, a long time ago. How can she, number Six, redeem herself? When she was the one who left them behind? She was supposed to protect them. They trusted her.

And though that was a long time ago, she can't let anyone trust her that way again. Rellik is getting far too close for comfort, her presence too much like her red coat, red like maple leaves and life. Vi didn't think anything at first as Rellik and her talked, until it suddenly struck her that Rellik didn't get bored. She loves puzzles, Vi knows, and Vi figured she thought she was another puzzle to solve. But Rellik asked questions that were closer to friendship than mere puzzle solving. And when Rellik offered to help her redress her bandages after a rainy mission, she snapped.

"I don't need your help! I don't need you around me!"
Vi had seen Rellik hurt before, through cuts and bruises, but the look on her face looked like she was in more pain than any of those other times.

So she ran, the only thing she knew how to do. For the first time in years, she didn't redress her bandages. The rain had soaked them and she cast them away, leaving her legs exposed. The wind blew across the fur and she stops walking, closing her eyes. That night, that awful night when she left them. When they fell and reached out, tried to grab onto her paws, arms, something to hold onto. Their teeth brushed through her fur, skimming her skin as they missed. They hadn't wanted to bite down on bare skin and hurt her. And the fog swallowed them up. After hours of waiting for them to resurface, the thick fog never giving up and scrapes on her legs that she couldn't feel, Vi had to leave. She told them where to stand, and when they fell, she couldn't catch them. After that, she couldn't bear the sight of her bare arms. So she wrapped them. That way, if something ever happened again, she could catch them.

"I'm sorry."
Vi whips her head up, back into the present. Rellik looks at her gently as Vi shakes.
"I didn't know you were hurting."

Vi doesn't say anything, breathing slowly. How could anything happen like that again if she doesn't let anyone in? But Rellik's warmth, her standing here by her side, she realizes how lonely it's been. Vi looks up at Rellik.
"I'm sorry I said that. I just... I don't want to loose you like I lost them."

It will take time, Vi knows, but Rellik accepts all that she's willing to share for now. Maybe Vi will finally be able to open up again, to one collie in her life at least.

Vi is the type to wear her heart on her sleeve. Any emotion she's feeling, others will be sure to know about it. She can be quite passionate in her feelings as well, be it anger, fear, or sadness. It would seem she experiences emotions intensely and telling her to "calm down" is possibly the worst thing you could say to her, as it often leads to explosive outbursts, especially if she's already angry. Despite all this, she doesn't actually like discussing her feelings, even with those close to her. She thinks it's a waste of time and would much rather act on her feelings than talk about them.

Possibly the one exception to this is love, as she makes it clear who she cares about and doesn't usually hesitate to say as much. That said, her words are usually minimal, and she could probably count on one paw how many times she's actually stated the words "I love you". show: somewhat of a joke name, but no less true, especially of league ekko as much as arcane ekko. during zauns' crisis under the less that caring gaze of the crime lord silco, where shimmer and decay and crime wracked and destroyed the streets of the undercity, this young boy was able to create a safe haven for many, and nurse much more back to health when they were addicted to the drug know as shimmer. he helped people, creating a community where there no longer was one. he tries his best, even if that means he has to give up on...certain other people whom he may or may not have had a crush on even if they weren't who he remembered them to be.
