Most of the other Medicine cats enjoy the leaf fall harvest but not Timidstep. He enjoys the repetitive work and getting to watch the herbs grow through the year.

Prompt: Koi is a bit timid and shy, and often gets very anxious. So the way she always starts off newleaf is with 'newleaf cleaning', a calming ritual to organize her fears away, step by step. Everything follows the same guidelines and the rules are clear-cut. She doesn't have to think too hard about the ins and outs of her cleaning either, so it helps her relax a lot.

Every morning, Koi will also go out to stretch her joints in the meadow, basking in the sun and the slowly-warming surroundings. Lucky, her companion, would hop around her and nibble on all the different plants starting to grow out.

Lucky loves eating fruit, so if she can find fruit around, she'll use them in the annual 'newleaf fruit hunt', her second newleaf tradition. The fruit will be hidden in clever places, and Lucky will use the power of his nose- and his sharp, strong teeth- to get to all the fruit. Lucky loves strawberries the most, so Koi always tries to get them for him, even if it means donning her bunny headband and cozying up to some twolegs for them. The twolegs will bestow pats and rubs on her, and though sometimes it gets a little annoying when the little twolegs pull her fur and try to braid it, she endures it, because she knows that the twolegs will gift her some of the strawberries they have growing in the fenced-off square they call a 'garden'. Strawberries don't grow in the wild here, so this is the best she can do.

After all, stealing is out of the question; anything gained for the newleaf fruit hunt must be gained rightfully and with proper morals.

Koi's last tradition during newleaf is the 'wish ceremony'. After leafbare, both she and Lucky start to shed. She collects all of their fur sheddings from their grooming sessions, and on a particularly nice, windy day, she'll take them out and together with Lucky, they'll let the wind take the fur into far away places, letting the strands carrying their wishes for the following moons disappear into the distance.
