Prompt: Fossett, as a young stallion, attempted to impress his first love by presenting to her the skull of a hyena. However, one does not simply find the skull of such a predator in the homeland of his harem. Determined to his task, he left the safety of his group and set off alone, traveling exhausting hundreds of miles to track down the predators that had enticed fear into his species for so many generations. It took ten days of running before he finally came face to face with a pack of hyenas, and it was when they were upon him that he finally understood the foolishness of his mission and set off back toward his home as fast as his hooves could take him, just barely escaping the predatory animals. His return took three less days than the journey's start had, as the hyenas continued to follow him, driving him to travel even when plagued by storms or needing rest. Having led them unintentionally back to his homeland, it became the task of the older stallions to drive them off and protect the mares in his herd. While he never did complete his mission, he did learn the value of remaining in his herd, having been taught the hard way that he was better off within the safety of the herd, as to one day protect them from hyenas as his elder kin had.

Prompt: The one and only adventure this stallion has gone on was one took as a young colt, barely a year old. He had been a rambunctious and playful colt, not obeying the wisdom of his mother or any one really. He just wanted to run, explore, and be free of the fences that kept the herd confined. He hadn't yet realized it was those fences that also kept them safe.

His stubborn longing to get out was answered one day as a fallen tree knocked down part of the fence, letting him make his grand escape. At first everything was as wonderful as he'd imagined, all the space to run as he could want, and no one to boss him around. He grazed on any and all the plants he so fancies, then found a shallow part of the river to splash around in. His joy wouldn't last all day though, as he wasn't as alone as he'd thought. A lone lion had caught wind of the young zebra, stalking and waiting for him. The moment that large beast leapt out of the shrubs would be a moment burned into Destry's mind forever. Fear and adrenaline raced through his veins, shrill whinnies for help burst from his lungs as he raced back towards his herd.

He got lucky that day, lucky a ranch hand had been out looking for him after seeing the broken fence and noticing the colt was gone.

Prompt: Phantom's youth was chock full of adventures, but his most memorable adventure was the time he outwitted a group of poachers. Back in his days with his familiar harem, Phantom was one of the more rambunctious stallions. He would often harass birds at the watering hole, or chase after colts from the neighboring plains zebra harems. On one such occasion of harassing some plains zebra colts, Phantom got himself sufficiently separated from his harem and could not find his way back to them. The little bully of course began to panic, barking for his harem mates in an attempt to find them or even just hear them. After a few days of searching with no luck, he gave up trying to find them and took up wandering through the savannah on his own. He was still quite young when this happened and was not fully grown, so a zebra of his age was easy pickings for many predators. Unfortunately, he caught the eye of some poachers that had been roaming the area. Due to his striking coat mutation, he was quite the prize to be had. They had laid out several traps for him, and had set up some hunting spots as well to try and take him down. He caught on fairly quickly that some humans were tracking after him after catching their scent at a watering hole, and came up with a plan. He snuck into their camp in the middle of the night and took their guns, dumping them in the watering hole, and come morning, he lead them to where their traps were and got them tangled up in them rather than himself as they tried to chase after him. Triumphant, he made his way around the area, still alone, until some conservationists encountered him and brought him into safety, being able to live on a reserve happily for the rest of his life.
