Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

- - As in, more than one new color that's different from the ones he already has...there can be more than one color on the horns
- You MUST use the horn shape I made
- No extras (fontmeme/small pictures as bullets/etc are fine)
- Please PM me questions
- You may do 2 other pieces of art BESIDES the horn ref
- The other art pieces can be by you OR someone else

I simply love the ring of 'Adair' and it suits this noble dragon, a name worthy for a King!
The name itself means "from the oak tree ford" in Gaelic and I think the reference to nature makes it even more fitting-

The name originally means 'Horned one' or 'Horns', but I saw this name and thought It was a foresty type name. I dont know how a name would really fit a forest theme, but I saw it and fell in love with it, as so the JBD. Once I realised what the name meant It gave me a even bigger reason to use it.

Idea: vines. Used the Dark color and Lightest color and blended them together. Hightlights using white (In the eye. Lol made sure every color but the Green came from him.) Flowers are color of eyes. :)
He reminded me of a forest the first time I saw him. So that is what I made him. He can camouflage easily in the woods with his vines draping from his antlers/horns.(Flowers Grow Every once in a while on random vines). With him being an elder he needs to be able to hide sometimes, even if it is just hiding from rambunctious youngsters.

I thought incorporating his extra color into one of my pieces would give some character to him. Love this :). Created in Photoshop and used an online gif imaging site to create a gif. I posted the original link to the image below so you can see its not pixelated like the gif is. (Both Are done by Me)

    Percherons are a breed of draft horse that originated in the Huisne river valley in western France, most commonly seen in a black or grey color. They are well muscled, and known for their intelligence and willingness to work, as well as being generally peaceful creatures that are lovable and easy to train. They're seen between 15 and 19 hands high, and 1,900 to 2,600 pounds. Percherons were originally bred for use as war horses, but over time, they began to be used for pulling stagecoaches and later for agriculture and hauling heavy goods. They have been crossed with several light horse breeds, such as Arabians, to produce horses for range work and competition, but are still used for forestry work and pulling carriages.

    Sleepy Hollow Percherons originates from the northern midwest United States, home to many varieties of horse from many different backgrounds of work; working as police mounts in Australia to forestry and farm work in Great Britain, parades, sleigh rides and hayrides around the world, and competing in various classes such as dressage and classic cart. Sleepy Hollow Percherons can very commonly seen in equine therapy and beginner riding lessons as well due to their gentle, relaxed behavior.
