Boba sighed, of course. How could she forget? She had this in her calendar for over a week now, and plenty of text reminders from her best friend Starlet.

Starlet knew Boba hated being called that, but she did it anyway. And Boba didn’t mind because, well, she didn’t want to take away the fun for Starlet. Starlet having fun and teasing Boba made her incredibly happy, happier than usual, and Boba loved nothing more than to see her friends smile. Boba opened the message but didn’t reply, which was her unique way of teasing Starlet. She knew it would drive her up the walls, making her grin deviously.

Boba was never really the one to get excited about going out. As a true introvert, she enjoys more focused “alone time” as outside stimuli like noise, motion, or intrusive lighting is extremely frustrating. Sometime Boba gets overwhelmed, unsettled and drained of energy. But when with Starlet, the world seems to change, and for the better. Boba becomes interested in engaging with the environment and others around her, feeding off Starlets outgoing and extraverted nature. When they hang out, instead of being monotone and serious, Boba peaks out of her shell to reveal a friendly and ambitious Goobie who just needs some guidance in navigating these unusual feelings.

The aquarium was just what Boba needed, especially after being cooped up inside for almost three days. Both Boba and Starlet could not wait to see each other, and spend the way looking at both weird and wonderful sea creatures.

An older cat could say that Red is still a kit, as it has only 10 moons since his kithood graduation. He has been with his twoleg family in his twoleg den since he was a tiny bean of a kit, bought from a 'town' far away aboard a 'monster'. Of course, he doesn't remember this himself, only aware from his mother-figure, mentor, and community leader Gremlin's stories. However, unlike Gremlin, Red has spent his entire life amongst the twolegs, learning of their strange contraptions and systems, working tirelessly to decipher and understand their foreign language, the meanings behind their gestures and movements.
He often thinks back to the days he spent curled up in the fake furs entitled 'blankets', staying safely inside the twoleg den while Gremlin brought back tales of the outside world, often encouraging him to explore the surroundings. Content with his own little den and the study of twolegs, he had declined her offers for many moons, until he accepted once out of capricious curiosity.
That was a day of new beginnings and realised mistakes for Red, a day of explorations and learning, of finding and figuring out.
To this day, Red explores the area with vigour and excitement, always ecstatic to find a new species of plant or animal, to meet a new cat, to analyse a new scent.
He truly regrets the first few moons of his life that he spent locked away in his mountain of blankets and twoleg junk.

Prompt: In the earliest days, he could not recall much. Sand, and a lot of it. He had been left alone, he knew that much. Born to a kittypet, an accident, their initial family had decided the best way to get rid of them was to abandon them at the beach. Cheesefur had no memory of what his siblings might have been like, nor what his mother even smelled like. No, instead, they found themselves picked up by a small pregnant canine.

Simply known as Cat, they were raised by the canine as well as seven bouncing siblings! It was a wild time of wrestling and play, and Cat used his unique skills to ensure his family always could eat! Truth was, they owned the beach! Together with his family they would stay together, and ensure that everyone ate and thrived. In this way he grew big and strong, learned the canine ways, as well as simply survived. He loved them, and they loved him back. It could have been that way forever...

But sadly the beach began to crack down upon 'unwanted' creatures roaming the beach. Before he could do anything, his family and himself were captured. While he managed to use his claws to open his own cage to freedom, before he could do the same for everyone else their cages were taken away. He was urged to run for freedom, do not look back. For their sake, live. Be free.

And so he did. He misses them still, terribly. He never did see any of them again. But when he encountered his own kind one day by accident he started on the path to a brand new life. He holds his earliest days in fond regards, despite the hardships he had to endure.
