These horses excel in endurance competitions such as cross country and show jumping, but are also capable of dressage
and harness pulling. Andaluz's also enjoy leisure riding as a way to bond between horse and rider. These sport horses can be
ridden either Western or English, but for showing purposes, will always be shown in English tack and attire.

Their heights can range anywhere from 14-16hh, with the average falling between 15-15.3hh. The most common
coat colors are the basic solids, but Andaluz's can have any coat color that has been discovered with the exception of mutations.

Rocky Mountain Mini Drafts #AF001 based on this drawing by Idem
by Idem @ Mon Jul 25, 2022 7:26 am [Reply]

    Image

This breed of mini drafts, a mix that was started between Haflingers and Icelandic Horses, was established in the early 1900s to assist in the development of roadways and hiking trails within Banff National Park up in Canada. Their broad chests and fluffy winter coat make living up in the cold Rockies bearable, and their densely muscled bodies make all the hard work they typically do possible for such a small breed of draft horse. Their size range varies, coming in around 13hh-15hh, with the tallest horses being only 15.0hh.

They tend to make a much better working horse rather than show horse and can often be used for carriage pulling and pulling farm equipment. They can still be ridden though despite being great working horses, and have retained the same unique gaits that Icelandic Horses are known for, the 'tölt' and 'skeið' gaits. They are typically hard working, easy going, and spirited horses, making for a great working or riding companion.

In recent years, the breed has come back into the spotlight after it had been more or less abandoned within the park and surrounding areas. Locals took it upon themselves to set up an event during the warmer months of the year to catch the wild horses, know as the "Summer Mini Round-Up". During the round-up, people from across the world can come and watch the horses parade through the main thoroughfare, making sure to keep an eye out on any horses they'd like to adopt after they've all been herded into the auction fields.

As you pull up in your truck, trailer in tow, you approach a booth with a rather nicely hand painted banner tied to the top that says "Summer Mini Round-Up". Inside the booth, a young 20 something hands you a flyer with these words on it.

Welcome to the Summer Mini Round-Up!
During this event, you will have the opportunity to rescue and adopt up to two different horses. One way to obtain a horse during this event will be to head over to the auction fields, where you will be able to request a horse with some specific looks. The second way to be able to obtain a horse during this event will be to head out into Banff National Park and find a horse yourself!

You smile at the person in the booth and stuff the flyer in your pocket, hardly able to contain your excitement. You drive forward and towards a parking spot, eyeing the variety of RMMDs out in the fields. Today is the day that you get to rescue not one, but two unique Rocky Mountain Mini Drafts, and you can hardly wait.

This event will be starting this upcoming Sunday afternoon, July 24th, at 12pm MST, and will run until the 14th of August.

    Idem @ Fri Jul 22, 2022 2:44 pm

    Common - (c) Uncommon - (u) Rare - (r) Limited - (l)

Examples for all of them can be found here and here!

    Jasper Spots (c)
    JspJsp / Jspjsp
A type of multicolored spotted marking that is located on the rump of the horse. The colors for the layers are usually slightly darker and slightly lighter than the base coat, with white interspersed within the different layer colors. Spot sizes are no larger than an orange and no smaller than a quarter. Layer patterns match with all the other spots, keeping the same color pattern. Will go under white markings and sooty, but over dilutions/modifiers.

    Banding (c)
    BnBn / Bnbn
A thick, multicolored striping marking that can be anywhere on the horse other than its legs. Similar to Jasper Spots, the colors for the layers are usually slightly darker and slightly lighter than the base coat, with white interspersed within the different layer colors. Striping can be thick or thin, jagged or straight, so long as there is layering within the stripes. There is also no limit to how many stripes the horse can have. Will go under white markings and sooty, but over dilutions/modifiers.

    Druzy Roan (u)
    DrnDrn / Drndrn
A type of roaning that affects large portions of white markings. Similar to druzy crystal pockets in rocks like geodes, the centers of the white markings are roaned out to create an effect similar to druzy pockets. A horse can still carry for this marking if it doesn't have any white markings, but it will only carry Druzy Roan recessively.

    Rutilated (u)
    RtRt / Rtrt
A marking that replicates the rutile found in rutilated quartz. Color ranges from yellow-orange to reddish orange to gold. Thin, randomly placed and randomly sized strips of gold go along the back of the horse, up the neck, and onto the face, affecting the mane coloration as well.

    Tourmalinated (u)
    TrtTrt / Trttrt
A marking that functions the exact same as Rutilated, but with black marks that replicate tourmaline rather than gold marks. Thin, randomly placed and randomly sized strips of black go along the back of the horse, up the neck, and onto the face, affecting the mane coloration as well.

    Sooty Mossy Agate (r)
    stymstym / Stymstym (Stystym)
A recessive type of Sooty marking that shares a locus with the Sooty marking. This marking will add a very dark green color to the back of a horse. Within the marking, there will be little mossy shapes that show the base coat underneath. If a horse carries for both Sooty and Sooty Moss Agate, only regular Sooty will show and they will carry for Sooty Moss Agate. Will go over dilutions and other markings, but under white markings.

    Obsidian Spotted Appaloosa (r)
    ObsObs / Obsobs
A modifier that specifically affects Appaloosa markings. When either Leopard Complex or Patn1 Appaloosas have this modifier, it changes the shape and sometimes color of the spots. The shape of the spots resembles the flecking found on snowflake obsidian, giving it an almost feathered pattern on the edges of the spots. On Appaloosa markings such as Snowflake, the spots will be entirely white. On Appaloosa markings such as Spotted Blanket, Fewspot, Leopard, and Semi Leopard, the spots appear opaque or gray-ish rather than the color of the base coat.

    Gemstone Hooves (r)
    ghgh / Ghgh
A recessive modifier that alters the colors of a horses hooves, turning them a bright, gemstone color. Different varieties include sapphire, emerald, ruby, garnet, peridot, opal, citrine, amethyst, labradorite, and rainbow moonstone. Any white markings on the legs that touch the hooves will lighten the color of the gemstone hooves. If only partially carried, thin stripes of gemstone color will show through the natural hoof color.

    Stratum (l)
    + Stratum
A marking that works in a similar way to both dilutions and somatic mutations in the fact that other markings will go on top of it. This marking is defined by its thick, layered, and circular bands of color going around the entire horse's coat, starting in the center of the horse and working its way outwards. The colors of these circular layers are lighter and darker variations of the base coat, and vary with each band of color.

Percherons are a breed of draft horse that originated in the Huisne river valley in western France, most commonly seen in a black or grey color. They are well muscled, and known for their intelligence and willingness to work, as well as being generally peaceful creatures that are lovable and easy to train. They're seen between 15 and 19 hands high, and 1,900 to 2,600 pounds. Percherons were originally bred for use as war horses, but over time, they began to be used for pulling stagecoaches and later for agriculture and hauling heavy goods. They have been crossed with several light horse breeds, such as Arabians, to produce horses for range work and competition, but are still used for forestry work and pulling carriages.

Sleepy Hollow Percherons originates from the northern midwest United States, home to many varieties of horse from many different backgrounds of work; working as police mounts in Australia to forestry and farm work in Great Britain, parades, sleigh rides and hayrides around the world, and competing in various classes such as dressage and classic cart. Sleepy Hollow Percherons can very commonly seen in equine therapy and beginner riding lessons as well due to their gentle, relaxed behavior.

Range Trotter #2301 based on this drawing by HowlingHooves
by Andromeda @ Thu Jul 21, 2022 1:03 pm [Reply]

Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness. With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Range Trotter #2297 based on this drawing by HowlingHooves
by orse @ Wed Jul 20, 2022 11:49 pm [Reply]

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Andaluz Sport Horse SDE#012 based on this drawing by paradise,

information!! wrote:Andaluz Sport Horses are a cross between the Andalusian and the Spanish Sport Horse. These horses have been bred
to combine their strength and agility to create the perfect showing champions. Andaluz's are extremely intelligent and elegant
horses, but are also known to have a fiery spirit. Their name is quite literally a combination of the two species, with andaluz
meaning "andalusian" in Spanish, and sport horse coming from their Spanish heritage.

    Limited Opening
The opening of this ARPG will start a little differently than what you're likely used to! To get all the details of how to get involved early, please read this information carefully.

During the Limited Opening of Haven, only 25 people will be able to participate in the game. This is to test features, integrate new concepts, and take some stress off the initial opening for staff!
As part of the Limited Opening, only 25 character designs will be made. They will be predetermined, either hand picked or randomly chosen, and are not customs. These will be the first adopts of the game.
Because these character designs are adopts and to give everyone a fair chance, each of the 25 adopts will be a contest or raffle. These contests will likely involve coming up with lore that will be integrated to the game- ideas may come from any/all of the entries, regardless of who wins.
One of these adopts, the last one, will be a milestone design. This means that in some obvious ways and some less obvious ways it is special!
Everyone can only win one design from this Limited Opening, due to the rules concerning progression in the game.

During the Limited Opening, inactive members may have their design re-auctioned. Because there are so few members to start, it's important to have everyone involved! However, you only need to interact with the ARPG once within 1-2 weeks to maintain activity. Once you have your second design, after progressing your Primary character, you no longer need to worry about any re-homing for that first one! Any designs that are customs, MYOs, or other player-sourced material will never be rehomed.

If you have any questions, feel free to post on the main thread!
