Story:
Allegra trotted lazily under the swaying shadows of the trees; her calm, dark eyes flicking up towards the canopy of leaves that shuddered in the gentle breeze. A small peach colored butterfly fluttered past her nose making her sneeze. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts she was just about to move on when the snap of a branch made her freeze in panic. Allegra’s ears swiveled as she pinpointed the sound and going against her better judgment she cautiously glided forward; her eyes narrowing as senseless giggling curled through the trees. As Allegra finally made it to the very edge of the vegetation she saw what the source of the noise was…..a human girl, tiny and insignificant compared to the rest of the universe but there was such a strong sense of joy radiating from the small being that Allegra was fascinated. The girls’ dark brown locks danced around her shoulders as she skipped in circles within the brightly lit meadow. Allegra’s awe for the little girl was dizzying and baffling but for some reason the serene creature enjoyed watching the happiness pour out from this humans face as she plucked flowers and threw them into the air around her. Suddenly the hair on the back of Allegra’s neck prickled with unease; the girl, in her joy, wasn’t looking where she was going and was frolicking too close to the edge of a small sandy cliff that dipped sharply into an icy stream. Before she could think, Allegra felt her body shift and move. Magnificent brown wings spread out on either side of her and she shot out from the cover of the deep shadows, souring close to the ground and making it to the girl just before she tumbled into the shallow water. Reaching out her neck she pressed her noise into the girl’s chest, gently nudging her back to the safety of stable ground and then lightly landing in front of her as the little girls eyes grew to the size of saucers. Amusement flashed through Allegra before she realized what she was doing and alarm crossed through her mind. What was she doing? Helping a human! Just the thought of it was outrageous. Jerking back she took off, dashing back towards the safety of the forest but a small voice made her hesitate. “Thank you.” Allegra glanced back confused, out of all the things to say those were not the words she would have expected to be uttered from such a curious and lively young girl but there she stood her arms at her side and her sincere green eyes fixed upon her. Turning back Allegra moved cautiously towards her, “What is your name?” Without hesitating and without questioning the fact that the strange creature could speak the human dialect the girl answered, “Melody! What’s yours? Do you want to play with me?” The girls Melody’s energy returned and she bounced forward a bright smile spreading across her lips. “They call me Allegra and….” She hesitated, knowing that she really shouldn’t associate herself with a human child but giving in as she looked down into the girl’s cheerful eyes, “what would you like to play?”

Allegra galloped through the trees, her heart soaring as she brushed past trees. It had been a week since she had seen Melody but she was almost certain that the girl would be there today. As she skidded to a stop on the outskirts of the clearing she froze. Standing near the stream, his head bent as he drank, was another Docksen. Just as she was about to step into the light of the clearing and introduce herself Melody raced in from the other side of the meadow her eyes brightening as she caught a glimpse of dark brown fur and before Allegra could stop her the child had raced forward and thrown her arms around the rouge’s neck. “Allegra! I missed you so—“ Melody’s cry of joy was cut off abruptly as the male reared backwards, shaking her off and flapping his wings in outraged panic. Allegra bolted from the forest and let out a screech, her ears pinned back and her whole body tensing as she shoved the male back away from Melody. Confusion lit through the male’s eyes as he stared at her. “Why are you protecting her? She attacked me!” The rouge snorted, shaking his head and flapping his wings. “No she didn’t! And if you learned to speak the human’s language you would know that what she said was harmless!” Anger pulsed through her veins as she glared down into the smaller males eyes; daring him to say otherwise. “Whatever this isn’t worth it.” He turned around, starting off at a gallop as he pushed off the ground with his mighty wings. Allegra pranced in a circle to look Melody in the face; adrenaline still coursing through her body as she buried her nose into the little girls cheek, making sure to keep her antlers at a safe distance. The male flew around the meadow once, only pausing to yell one last retort, “If you were smart you wouldn’t get too attached to her. Full grown human’s don’t take to kindly to the strange beasts that roam this earth and not even you can find a way to stop the sands of time.” Allegra snorted in disgust and ignored his comment but somewhere deep inside a tiny needle of truth stabbed her heart.

Story: I jammed my headphones over my ears so I didn't have to listen to the cops tell me that my sick parents died when our house caught on fire. My dog curled up next to me, obviously mourning our loss too. I has nowhere to go, no relatives to stay at. You bet you know where I am going next, right? This is going to suck. Big time.

Questions swirled in my mind as I listened to my iPod in the passenger seat of the cop car. Would Jake, my old Golden Retreiver, be able to stay at the foster home with me? Are they nice? Do they have any horses? I soon fell asleep after a while.

"Son, I believe we're here." A burly officer with a ginormous mustache woke me up. It was late, almost twelve. I rose from my stiff position in the car and opened my door. When I stepped out, I saw a nice little house with a stone walkway. An elderly couple stood on the front porch, obviously they had been waiting for a while.

Jake, the officer, and I walked up the stone path to greet the two. When the woman saw me, she squealed and said, "What's your name, child?" I smiled big and said, "My name is Skye, ma'am."

She just ate me up! She obsessed to her husband about my gentlemanly manners, and it made me think of how I begged my mom to let us keep Jake at the local pound. I smiled brightly the whole time, answering the man's scrutinous questions with either "Yes, sir" or "No, sir".

After a long stream of questions, they finally invited us all inside. I was surprised- they had two dogs already! Jake walked slowly over to them and they all looked like they had been friends since puphood. I sat on the nice leather couch, and listened to what I would be doing for chores. They all sounded boring until the man cut in and said, "You can do those, or you can help me with the horses."

I felt as light as a feather! They did have everything! These were the perfect foster parents for a kid like me. I was also very glad I didn't have to leave Texas, either. "Hey!" the old woman said in reply. Her husband looked at her until she said, "Oh, all right. But we have to get a girl too, then." I felt my heart sink just about four inches. Girl!?

I couldn't help it- after a while I started yawning. I hadn't gotten any sleep except for the few hours in the car ride. The elderly lady noticed in and instant and led me down a hall to a room. It had brown walls and a few black horses painted onto the walls. "Do you like my beauties? I painted this too, but I didn't know if you would like it or not." She pulled out of the closet a... A masterpiece!

It was a painting of a wild horse herd galloping like they were going to bust out of the picture! But it was really weird... They had wings, antlers, and tails?! They were also very tall. I decided not to say much about those few details and I just stood there, my eyes taking in the details.

"They look real!" I said in astonishment after a few more seconds of silence. She just laughed and propped it against the wall. Only then I realized the bed. It was a huge queen with a down comforter and large, soft fuzzy blankets. I sunk into it without even taking off my belt and fell asleep right away.

When I woke the next morning, I got up and headed to the kitchen. My brown hair was a mess and I was sure My clothes would get comments, but the old woman just smiled and said, "I never told you my name. I am Alice Sanderson, and he is Charles." She gestured to the old man. "You may call me Alice and him Charley."

"Okay!" I replied enthusiastically. "You can explore our property today, because it is your first day here." I nod. Alice turns to the batter she was mixing. "Waffles or pancakes?" She asks. I reply after thinking a bit, "Waffles."

In less than ten minutes, a waffle is done. It is a huge Belgian waffle, and I quickly pour syrup on it and dig in. I finish it, and ask where is a comb I can use. Alice replies with "In your bathroom, of course!" I go back to the room and open a door next to the closet door. I found a nice bathroom with a painting of a buffalo and many deer horns mounted on the wall.

I take a look in the many drawers under the sink and find a comb. I hastily brush my hair with it when I think of Jake. I had totally forgot about him!

I stepped outside with newfound courage. Jake was at my side, and new boots were on my feet. I explored for a while until I cam across a pasture dotted with wildflowers. I saw what appeared to be a deer, but I soon saw the wings. It was one of those things from Alice's painting! I saw its beautiful coloring, and it galloped near me. "Dawson," I whispered under my breath. The elegant stallion was mine.

Goop monsters originated in North America,and they are a mix between dogs,cats,rabbits,and then whatever the heck the scientists thouhgt would go good together.They were trying to make an animal that would help people.And look apealing to the eye.Goop monsters are generaly very friendly and listen to thier owners no matter what.If you told them to jump off a bridge,they would do it,no question.They live to serve.And they do like thier own goop!They could even survive off it it{so could a human} if necessary.It has healing abilties,too.So if they have a not too deep wound,they will smear the goop on it.If it is deep,they'll smear the goop on anyways so it can still help.If something tears inside of them,they will start to eat at the goop on thier paws.Goop doesn't run out,and no one really knows how it is made.It is flavored so little kids would eat it if they refused to take medicine.They can also change the shape/hardness/tempature of goop according to what thier master says and what they want to do.When angered or being protective,their favorite thing is to form thier paws into knife like shapes,and make it hard and very hot.When the goop gets to a certain tempature it stops having a healing abilty,and thats about the temp/they use to attack,most of the time higher.Goop monster's eat almost anything.They love human candies,fruits,and well cooked meats.They dont fancy vegetables,and hate pet foods.They like sweet things the most,but never become overwieght because of a high metabolism.But,because of this,they have to eat throughout the day.Or three normal meals and then snacks.Goop monsters don't like giving pups away unless they trust the new owner.They will protect thier gooplings like they would thier master,even more than that.Both the father and the mother take part in raising the goopling.They are ready for adoption at 6 months,but most people buy them at 7 months.Gooplings can be called anything,and they will accept any name.Goop monsters are very attached to thier masters and love them.If a master dies before the goop monster,it will usually take its own life.So,goop monsters at the pound are actually very lucky to be found before this has happened.

Sorry this is so late, I've been real busy in the past week... but again...I could've found time if I managed it better... ohwhatever ><
So anyway...
