Calyx can be prone to bouts of jealousy and aggression, though when one comes around she usually just leaves the group and wanders off on her own until the mood passes. These are very rare, luckily, and she does well to be careful. She doesn't want to lash out and hurt another equid, though it's nearly happened in the past.

What is a Velo Dragon?
A VD is a velociraptor sized dragon, and are quite sweet and gentle, despite their fierce lokking horns, which are actually just for show. Adult female VDs are usually bigger then males. They make wonderful, loving pets, but are most commonly found in the wild. The eat all sorts of stuff, but also have a sweet tooth. Young VDs hatch with their horns, to help them break out of their egg, but then the little horns fall out, and bigger ones grow. They can walk on two legs and all fours, and come in all colors and designs.

Markings wise they aren't similar at all, appart from Jazzy's eyes looking a little bit red and the dark coat, but something about this equid really makes me think back to this horse. Jazz had a really bad infection in her hoof about a year ago, and while she's still alive she's unable to be ridden and has lost a lot of the big, cheerful personality she used to have. It's been really sad to watch her kicking at her stall and pacing around, she's not the same horse anymore.
That's sort of what I imagine for this equid. At one time she was proud, sassy and a real princessy little brat, but now she's somewhat broken. She gives the impression of a really determined and tough little equid who frustrated and weakened but ready to defend herself.

She's a lovely looking equid and she has so much personality. I really want to try and elaborate on her back story, as well as continue to draw her.

History: when she was a foal, a lot of people liked her, for as the other fillys where fisky and mean, where as she was gental and kind. coco apple let them put on horese shoes and rideing tack without a snort. soon after she was a rideing WSE. once out rideing, her rider fell off and broke her leg, and some wild dogs came and started growling at them.coco apple flashed out with her hooves and her horn to chase them off then ran full giat to the stables to get some one to help her rider. later when she was 5, she fell ill. it lasted for 2 weeks.about one year passed and they thought about getting another filly, so they put her up for adoption, this is how i came apon this magnificent beast.

I think Vedette is a very pretty, quirky, and unique name for a very pretty, quirky, and unique little girl. :3 I find that it fits the way that I interpret her because I think of her as a proper, loyal little doll that has her outbursts of fun. ^u^ I also find it fitting because her design is very set apart from the rest; ever so fitting for her name meaning. The name fits, and isn't it just lovely? <3

I had been only an unhatched egg when my mother was given to a small child for Christmas. Mama had carried the egg that I would hatch out of in her pouch because she lived at the pound until someone adopted her. Nobody knew that she was carrying it, so of course when Mama stood up by the fire on Christmas Eve to go get a drink, everyone was shocked to find a fuzzy, red baby JBD yawning out from underneath her!
The little girl solemnly stood up and crouched down next to me as if she was afraid to touch me As the girl watched, I looked at her curiously. Deciding that the girl looked like she would be fun to play with, I reached up and licked her nose.
Giggling, the child picked me up and snuggled with me, laughing as I squirmed to get to her nose. Just then, Mama walked in. She smiled tiredly and rubbed against me before lying down under the tree.
That night was what made me love parties. I romped between everyone's legs, searching for spilled cocoa or unguarded candy. The problem was that whenever I latched my little baby teeth onto a candy cane, someone would pick me up and take it! Finally, I found something noone took away from me- a tiny sprig of holly stolen from the Christmas Wreath. Everyone laughed and commented how I looked like a little holly berry. It was one of the best nights of my life.

Personality:

A spunky, outgoing JBD. He hasn't seen Cloud since a young human girl took her. It also upset Mango when a human took Cici. It took Mango lots of time to live without his parents and his sisters, but now hes used to it. He knows how scavenge and live by himself. He doesn't have much friends, and that hurts Mango, making him a little snappy around new Jbds, but once you know Mango, Hes a sweetheart. He cares for all, and even though at first, he seems snappy and careless, hes not. Since his siblings dissapearance and his mothers death had made him slightly scornful, but he never ever wants anyone to be hurt by him or anything; vocally or phsyically. Hes very goofy, often choosing dumb and idiotic desicions- Thats were his sister- Cloud helped him.
He loves Nickelback and will often sing it. Even with his sad background- Mang really is cheerful. He will often play games with the Birds Of Prey since he is the only one who knows their weak spots. He has a friend named ' Hawky' Who is a hawk. Mang was devastated when Hawky was shot.
Mango is a cool kid, and he likes to be in the spot light, often getting him into trouble.
He latches onto close friends and would not let them go or let them down no matter what. Hes a sweet guy.
He can be kind of dumb so lots of JBD dont like him. they think hes too ' Immature' to travel with them. Mango shrugs it off, smiles at them, and lives by himself.

Why do I want him?
He just looks like Clouds 'lil brother <3 Ill rp with him, I promise. And draw him loads.

Story:
I swung my hips and tail to the rythmetic song stuck in my head. I wanna be a rockstar! Yeah! I yelled the: " Yeah!" And settled down, but I did not stop swaying. I saw Cloud roll her eyes and Cici giggled, but they immediatly stopped as they saw mom come up the hill. " Good news for Mango!' She said. I stopped swaying, my heart beat faster Could it be...? " I got you Mango yogurt" Cloud covered her ears and Cici ducked as I plunged into the air, my heart alight. I hadn't had this in ages, and it was one of my favorites! " YIPPE!' I called, and birds who were carelessly flying swarmed into trees. " Who gets first bite?" Mom asked. " OOOH ME!' Cici yelled, but cloud just sat there, Rolling her eyes. " Nope, not you Cici. Mango!" I joyfully walked to the now-opened yogurt, stuck my muzzle inside and kept licking...licking, the flavor swarmed, filling my mouth with all the flavors I loved. " Hey!" I heard Cici yell as I ate the last bite. " That was the last bite!" Cloud looked momentarily angry before nodding: ' Its fine Mang'
" Sorry Cici" I said. I immediatly felt bad- but gawd was that good! I curled around in a patch of grass as the sunset began to paint the sky. I felt Cici , Cloud and mom curl up Next to me, and I felt good. I soon fell asleep to the rhyming pattern to there breathing.

I woke to a scream. Mom was lying on the hill, dead by fear. Cloud was yelling and kicking as a girl put a leather collar on her, and Cici was gone. Tears streaming my eyes As I left Cloud, I pelted into the forest. " Mom, Cici, and soon Cloud, were all gone" The words rung in my ears like torture. I Paused at a low-level branch, and bounding into it, I quickly scaled the tree like a Lynx. I bounded from branch to branch, falling into a rhythmetic pattern as I bounded from tree to tree: Check, Jump, Close eyes, Hold branch, Blance Check Jump. When my heart slowed enough for me to check, I saw nothing, heard nothing, and felt nothing. I was like a ghost now- Alone, the memories haunting, undaunted by your plea to be left alone. I felt a hole in my heart, and I knew, no matter how many years passed, that hole would never fill. I jumped from the tree and walked. And for the first time, I let my body walk. I felt souless. It was just my aching pain in my heart and my body,that were walking around.

The alley was clear

It had been about year since I had been without my family. My markings were getting more prominent, And I was devolping my 'teen' Shape.
I hadn't forgotten my family. It stuck in my head like glue- No not glue- Gorrila Glue.
I snuffed around the alley, sniffing for food. I picked up the slight trace of Smoothie, but that was it. Twitching my tail in annoyace, I went back to the park, where i lived. I crowded under the bench I slept under while rain began to fall down, as if the sky were crying. I fluffed out my fur, and tried to get comfy. I was getting to big for under the bench, And I could tell, My breathing came in short huffs and puffs and I coughed when I stood up to get out. I needed to find a new den- But where?
Humans were everywhere, and I didn't want to be taken like my over precious family. The hole inside me had filled slightly, but it was still there. It would forever be. I walked out, fur fluffed against rain- then I saw, there, standing Next to Citrus Star and Phrog, was my dear lost sister- Cloud.

I ran, I ran, I ran. It was too good to be true. I found my sister- now I could live my life peacefully without being haunted forever.
Joy-tears streaming my eyes, I bounded quickly to the top of a statue of George washington. Then, When I was perched at the highest point of the statue, I yelled to the graying sky. " You cant take everything I have!" Thunder boomed, and struck behind me, giving me a somewhat magestic lion-like look. I leaped from the statue, splashing in the muddy water. I could live my life now, and thats what mattered.

Other: I love him so much <3 Ill take care of him well, draw him, and make him a ref. He stole my heart, Blaze <3 And Blaze, I promise I will care for him the rest of my life. He and Cloud will be my babies <3 I will spoil them rotten, to the point I take Mang to Sorcerers Apprentice every wendsday >XD

Despite you already having a Whelkon, you're form blew me away!
I came back today and noticed the art and poem which made me think 'Yep. She's deffinately getting him'.
I just loved it, really touching and such a unique outlook!
He seems like such a great Whelkon I can't not love him now.
Well done!

I think Wolfrem and Katona will make amazing friends n.n

▪ History (About 200 words):
Katona is a soldier, a warrior in a way. He protects the forests with his life, but in the most peaceful ways possible, risking himself to lure humans away. He was born during a human invasion, and saw the destruction it brought. This affected him inside, but did not change him forever. It only got the snowball rolling, to help him become what he is today.
After he lost his parents, unable to find them in the smoke of the fires of his forest, he was terrified and afraid. The only thing he found to do was sleep, and sleep brought about terrifying nightmares, depicting the smoke and the humans, him trapped in the fires and his parents disappearing like whisps, crackling into the air. He cried out for them, but they were gone. It kept him awake at night.
Soon, though, when he was more of a juvenile, Katona found a group of Whelkon, who gladly accepted him. Travelling with them, he learned that the humans were a forgivable enough species, that with care and caution perhaps the Whelkon would be ready to befriend them. He accepted this, and decided to be a great protector of the forest his group was near. The Whelkon supported him, and therefore that is why he wanders there today, on the outskirts of the group he still travels with, showing humans the way out of the forest, and showing them that a Whelkon means only to protect his home, nothing more, nothing less.

▪ Personality (About 200 words):
Katona is strong, silent and brave. But this only covers about a quarter of the true him.
Around his group, the pack he travels with at all times, Katona can be a bit more open than he might otherwise be. He will occasionally let out his feeling on a particular interest, or his opinion, but will normally keep quiet. To the female who accepted him as a child when he arrived in the group, he is much, much more open than anywhere else, even going so far as to tell her if he's afraid or worried.
When around strangers, or when leading humans away from the forests, Katona becomes silent and strong. He doesn't speak much at all, and prefers to give a wordless nod when asked a question. He retains this manner to forget his emotion and fear, because he believes if he falls afraid while showing humans the way away, he'll slip up and end out caught.
This strong change of personality between stages of life also shows Katona to be complicated. He has a very different and mixed up life, and therefore has developed a somewhat complicated personality.

Where, far inside few Whelkon weep.
The forest is safe from human harm.
But not with dangerous weapons and arms.
Standing watchful, like a tower.
Is a Whelkon with some power.
Not a lot, not over the others.
But in a way to help another.
Katona, the soldier, his hooves on the ground.
Let's out a call to assure those around.
He guides humans away, through day and through night.
And treats all with respect, despite this hard plight.
And may there come a day when the humans are gone.
The deeds are all done, the forest left alone.
May there come a day when Katona has won.
He'll thank his people for this job well done.

▪ Short Story (300 words max or disqualified):
A misty dew hung in the forest, leaving dappled drops across the backs of a group of creatures, going about their daily lives.
One such of the animals shook off his wet armor, allowing it to fall to the litter of the floor. He held his head high and proud, older but still in his prime. He was a Whelkon, and proud to be so.
Katona looked to his group with the usual pleasure he had. Greeting each in turn, he gave each a friendly nudge. The others greeted him the same. As they prepared for their usual routines, one flicked its ears upward. A new Whelkon, younger, raced into the forest, panting. "There are humans. Approaching, with axes to chop our trees!" He cried out, alerting the others. They reacted with surprise, unsure what to do. But Katona knew.
"You need to be careful, friends. Go deeper into the forest and I'll lead them away." He said indignantly. The others looked unsure, but he took off. There was no room for argument.
Katona moved carefully through the forest, and once he spotted the humans, he began making deep braying noises. The humans were greatly confused. Following the noise, Katona moved away leading them off, braying and causing a small commotion. Once out of the forest, he disappeared, leaving the humans alone.
Returning to his group, he nodded to say that they were gone. "It's you who are to thank. If you all hadn't listened and had not run, they may have heard you and not me." He said, as usual acting modest.
The Whelkon returned to their daily lives, their beautiful wood yet again saved.

▪ Why you want this Whelkon (Few sentences):
Well first of all, why wouldn't I want him? Lose the rarity, and he's still so beautiful. I've never seen something quite like him, alluring in a special way. The interest I place in this species is also what drives me. This is right now, the most beautiful Whelkon I have seen, right next to Wolfrem on my scale.
Also, his color. Those gorgeous, wonderful colors. My father is a soldier in the US Army. I am very attached to him, as he is leaving for seven months for training for the army. This guy reminds me so much of what it means to be a soldier. He reminds me of my dad, and thus it makes it impossible not to feel inspired and loving about him.
