"That's an important question if I ever knew one! Metaphorically speaking, [wipes whiteboard] I ask this question because I believe metaphors are contrived from life! Seeking and finding new [wipes whiteboard] meaning in everyday life [pauses] . . .um, what's the word? I can't remember it at the moment! [wipes whiteboard] Moving on, I think life gets better when you give new meaning to it, don't you think? [wipes whiteboard] Yes, I written it without any mistakes! Hunter is going to be so proud of me!"

♠Reading:: Aspercy is a reader, which isn't too uncommon for someone his age. It's not that Aspercy loves "the feel of reading" or reading in general, he just loves solving written problems. This balancing well with Hunter's life since being a nautical engineer usually involved physics and the likes.
♠Gambler's Fallacy:: Now, don't go thinking Aspercy is a gambler! Gambler's Fallacy is the prediction that a certain number of events will eventually happen due to the surplus of the other event happening. A good example of this is getting heads on a coin five times and then expecting tails the next time, even when the probability is still 50/50. This philosophy of Aspercy comes from applying what he learns in language to chance. Aspercy has terrible luck and always expects the outcome he wants to come along eventually. Hunter has talks with him daily explaining that luck does not work that way.
♠Cerebral Palsy:: As much as it pains Aspercy, he cannot talk. His form of Cerebral Palsy does not allow him to talk, and any attempt in trying to talk ends with a muscle spasm in the lower area of his jaw. Still, Aspercy continues to learn the ways of "language" and writes out what he says on a whiteboard. It's horrible old fashion in his opinion, but it's better then not speaking at all. When Hunter first found Aspercy he at first thought the kid was a selective mute until he saw Aspercy making choking sounds with a quivering jaw. From then on, Hunter makes sure to do his research to provide the necessities to support Aspercy's needs.

♠Hopes:: Aspercy hopes to become a famous grammatical writer for the New York Post, or some sort of writers for a news paper. He also wishes to be at the sea alongside Hunter and help him create some international sea levy system while developing a language that only people qualified to work with it can use it. This is to prevent sea terrorism and to make nautical travel filled with less worry. Aspercy also hopes to find his original family members to find out why they left him. Hunter usually tries to detour away from this topic because he knows that it's going to be hard explain that his parents abandoned him due to his mental disabilities. Hunter wants Aspercy to remain as far away from them
♠Fears:: Aspercy is afraid of his cerebral palsy getting worse and it eventually spreading to his paws. Without his paws he just won't be able to write but also not be able to read and will always need assistance when doing mundane task. This idea is a nightmare and it constantly haunts his dreams at night. Aspercy is also afraid of mirror, feeling that there is no amount of physics done by Hunter to explain how they work. He's pretty good at covering his fears until that one time Hunter took him to a carnival and they went through the house of mirrors together. Since then Hunter has made sure to keep most of the house mirror free. Aspercy's last major fear is that of his eyes. He secretly loves symmetry and seeing his eyes not only unnerves him but also makes him sad that this is one more "unique feature" to him. He wishes to be as normal as everyone else, and having two different colored eyes is simply not ideal for him.

"I'm a language detective!"
Aspercy has a fascination with language, but not just the
language of words! His interested includes any form of
speech that you can read or visually look at, so mathematics,
paintings and even palm readings are all included in this
language of Aspercy. He finds the way how random squiggles
and lines have meaning to reader. However, this is where he
classifies each piece of "language" a mystery. He understands
that certain pieces of language mean specific things, such as
7 multiplied by 7 is 49 and is a square root, but why? Why is it
that this meaning of these symbols on a page or paper mean
this certain thing? He spends his time reading formulas and
story excerpts, trying to elaborate why history decided to
affirm certain meanings to parts of languages. The reason
why he has such a fascination is linked to why he has
his Stained, his cloth. Stained isn't just a random cloth; it's
part of a book binding, and more specifically from a language
book. Usually Stained is used when Aspercy takes out his
whiteboard and starts breaking down language scientifically.
It's almost a given to find Aspercy writing down something
and then erasing it with his black cloth in his room.


"And this here is Stained, my cloth!"
Aspercy named his cloth Stained because it's actually a stained white cloth! Aspercy got the cloth from a book binding that Hunter ripped off. Aspercy was in Hunter's room, taking pencil and making annotations in his books when he wanted to show Hunter this new language discovery he made. When trying to run and find Hunter he tripped over his own tail and slammed right into the floor. Since young Aspercy isn't the strongest jelly bean dragon he ended up getting a really nasty cut on the bridge of his snout. Hunter heard the noise and quickly came over; Hunter, doing the best with what he had, ripped a binding of of one of the books Aspercy was reading to wrap his wounds. Since then, Aspercy never washes his cloth and uses it to clean everything and anything, even when the cloth itself is highly unsanitary. The cloth represents quick and rash thinking for the better of someone else, which is a moral Aspercy decides to put on himself. If he has to help, he wants to do it as quickly and effective as possibly, just as Hunter did for him.

XXXWithout any use of extra words, I was terrified. I am an eight year old orphan, and I was terrified. Why? Because Hunter Caspian was going to introduce him, Aspercy, to Hunter's large family. Tugging at the cloth, Aspercy removes it from his current spot on his tail to over his mouth; He did not want anyone in Hunter's house to hear him cry. He remembers Hunter telling how great each member of his family was, going into great detail about who they were and how kind they were. Aspercy never really paid attention much because he never figured he would be adopted. He never figured that being along side Hunter all of this time and doing math equations and explaining language to each other would have actually gained him a strong relationship. He never figured he was worth that much. Shaking him from his thoughts, Hunter nudged him awake.
XXX"Did you sleep well, little buddy? Today is the day that everyone finally gets to meet you in person! Now I have to finally admit to Mom that I was never actually babysitting you and I was actually taking you in! Heh, whoops. I wonder how she will react. . .probably as joyous as me, right! Come on!"
XXXAspercy wipes the sleep from his eyes and walked downstairs. As he reached the foot of the stairs, he took off his black cloth and began to weep. These were not tears of sadness, but of relief. In front of him, was the relief he never knew he needed. Family.


"My fashionable accessories?"
"Why do I have this cloth with me? Well, simple! Hunter used it to bind my nasty scar wound. I don't think about it too much, [wipes whiteboard] because I really dislike looking at myself in the mirror. I really dislike having it over my mouth because even if I can't physically talk it still hurts and [wipes whiteboard]feels like a constant reminder. I wish Hunter would put it less on my mouth and more [wipes whiteboard] on my tail. You should probably forget about my whiteboard and Expo markers. They don't matter much. [wipes whiteboard] They are only used so I can speak to people. Ironic, [wipes whiteboard] because I'm not actually speaking."

The awful thing is that I cannot implicate them well, but they are sure nice to look at and apply when reading inside your head.
