I'm posting a handful of Happy Birthday tekes for the celebrations and as a thanks to all of you lovely people. <3 Something... is off here... but I think I'm going to keep you guys guessing. I did leave some hints, but they are a little tricky! This is not a custom, I have a very special plan for him. I promise you won't be disappointed! as it is, the song more or less expresses jae's wishes more than it does reality, although luc has eventually showed friendliness and even slight affection towards jae, it's still a long way before it can become 'just the two of us,' jae knows. personality:
show-off; when it comes to playing music, jae is an expert and will shove it into your face. he plays the saxophone, piano, keyboard, and he can also beatbox if that counts as an instrument. he's good at moving to his own beat and keeping a steady percussion, and he won't hesitate when given a chance to play his songs. he feels as though you'll thank him in the end for his 'wonderful music,' when in reality it is considerably impressive. he doesn't hold back either, he'll sing you a whole song, verses and all. he's all about music despite his partially useless hearing. patient; jae absolutely despises those who try to make a conversation about his disabilities. he especially gets pissed off whenever someone talks about how the sea smells salty and fresh or how the music sounds great when he can barely hear it or if he hears someone talk about something he couldn't see very well. he knows that whoever it is he's talking to could just be really excited about what went on, so he usually keeps silent and endures the moment patiently even though he could easily punch them in the abdomen. fashionista; when it comes to style, you can call jagger a king. he switches up his wardrobe constantly, changing from one style to another. he has good taste, too. when it comes to quirks, he usually eyes someone in disgust when he sees them wearing clothing he simply doesn't approve of. other times he will even criticize them, although it's very rare that he spits out even a single word. he's rather just keep it up regarding his own attire and not poke his nose around others' business. imaginative; as previously stated, jae has a wild imagination and it's not only regarding lucien. he's got an interesting mindset that can spun a story only from staring into a teacup. he'll talk about the little sugar orb that isn't melting, or the tiny tea leaves forming a crescent shape on one side of the cup, or the steam slowly rising in a translucent plume into the ceiling, and so on. give him a pen and paper, and he'll write a thousand words to fathom what he sees before himself. thoughtful; imaginative as he is, jae is also very thoughtful, pouring plenty of thought into things he doesn't do spontaneously, which is in short simply everything except for playing music and singing. at night, jagger can muse about almost anything from the clear might sky to the polluted air underneath. he's able to distract himself from the noisy activities of daily life and just jerk himself away from the real world momentarily just for the sake of thought. empathic; for someone with disabilities like his, jae has learned to feel empathy for those who suffer from them, both those who have it easier or harder than him. he does consider himself a role model for them, someone to see as an inspiration, and that's why he strives to strike a pose whenever he can to give a boost to the ones who need it. he will do a lot for them, and help them in many ways. he's always there when someone needs to pour their feelings out to him. reliable; jae has made it a clear thing that he cannot be late to meetings or hangouts, fail when he's needed, and so on. he's reliable in all sorts of ways and is eager to lend a hand. you need to tell someone a secret but don't want anyone else to know? talk to jae. he's good at keeping secrets and promises, so whenever you're down just ring him up. chances are you'll end up feeling like a weight's only just been lifted from your shoulders. history:
jagger was born into a... less fortunate household. most of his siblings were already working despite their young ages. they did work on harsh terrains such as collecting stones and breaking them, loading them into wheelbarrows and transporting them to building sites. they were a family oriented to living that way, and since jagger was the youngest, his siblings always made sure jagger could eat three times a day before they could even touch a loaf of bread. growing up, they quickly found out that jagger's thinner physique just wasn't cut out for the hard work, but they also discovered that he had a knack for music. they saw jagger playing drums on rocks, rubbish bins and even on paper cups. so they had the child play on the streets, and with his age he was able to attract enough attention to raise enough money to help feed the family as well as get him a little toy keyboard that could play only two octaves of music, but it was enough. jae's musical knowledge grew. one aspect worth noting would be how from the start, jagger felt like a boy and identified as one. despite the family's first reaction being surprise, they let their child do what he wanted and so he kept using his own pronouns. the rest of his family, which was made up of his father and three older siblings, were happy to see him happy. things became better when all four children reached acceptable levels of education and were able to eventually earn jobs. one became a private language teacher, one became a sports instructor and another became an architect. by then, jae had improved further in his music career and was on his way to becoming a music teacher. he'd familiarized himself with the piano and the saxophone along with a legitimate keyboard, and was working on his singing. this was around the time when he'd met lucien in high school too. lucien was a bit of a role model to jagger. the way the male handled everything calmly, keeping that regal air and always doing what he had to do, it impressed jae. funnily enough, jagger followed in luc's footsteps well enough that they were both excused from one particularly difficult task by their teacher since they had been diligent enough to finish each other assignment. they spent the week of the task like rich kings among confused commoners. it was humorous, to say, to act so relaxed while the rest of the class panicked. the first few times they actually started talking to each other, though, was near their high school graduation, and by the time they found out they were going to the same college, they grew closer. lucien would often meet up with jae and they would go to their college together. when jae got himself a motorcycle, he began picking luc up at his place on the way there. nowadays, both jae and luc are on their way to become college graduates, their friendship still going strong with jagger's crush growing with each passing day. story:
his thoughts were disturbed as he heard a voice that shook him from his near delirious state. "jae?" so the voice uttered. a chill immediately gripped jagger's spine and shot up before settling into the core of his bones. it was a bit like lightning, except it was not nearly as burning hot. it webbed through his body and tunneled through his bloodstream before it subdued him, leaving him feeling hollow as a skin sack without a skeleton. it was hard to admit he was used to this feeling. then again, he was. what he'd only just experienced was the rush that always took him over from his toes to his fingertips whenever he heard that familiar voice. crackling underneath the surface of his skin like a bunch of tiny caterpillars squirming about. he was a bit shaky to reply, somehow the feeling he'd gotten this time was stronger than usual. it never really shocked him out of reality before, but this time it felt like being hit on the back until you felt like spitting out thin air. as if his lungs had collapsed, with all the air in them being forced out until he practically became a deflated balloon. "h-hey, luke-bro," jagger managed to say. lucien jerked his chin over to the counter and muttered something under his breath that jae couldn't quite catch. then luc placed his own backpack on the chair opposite to jae's before going off, probably to order his own drink. jae took a few moments to cling to himself and breathe before taking a sip from his own latte. the way lucien walked alone was enough to rob the breath out of him. jagger had to take a moment before he could concentrate again. what was he feeling? love? what people called a rosy red arrow piercing your heart and making you feel a drunken joy like wine down your throat? what people described as a thorn on a rose that could draw blood and thus pain you so badly, and yet you keep holding on to the flower just because it was so beautiful and precious? ... perhaps so. playlist:
the song that plays in the background as the characters face a monstrous conflict, the soundtrack is one jae appreciates and has even tried to write lyrics for. it has that kind of rush that's hard to pair up with the piano, and yet the composers pull it off flawlessly. it incorporates the beat with the piano, and around the end is where the song describes a graceful success. what a pleasantry to the ears! ☆ golf quest mini music - steven universe soundtrack yet another song from steven universe. it's a nostalgic tune that reminds jagger of the games he barely had the time to enjoy back then but gets to play once in a while now. it resembles the music he hears when he plays games like pokemon and legend of zelda, and that's the main reason behind him liking it. ☆ iris - cover by ronan keating the philosophy in the song along with how well it fits ronan keating's voice is the reason why jae prefers this version of the song. it's also the first version of it he's ever heard of, so it's hard for him to imagine it in any other way. he could fall asleep solely listening to this song and have peaceful dreams as well. it's just perfect to him, something he tries to replicate in his own music career. ☆ i don't wanna miss a thing - aerosmith there's always that one song that seemingly manages to describe your life, or at least some part of it. to jagger, this is that song. he's already learned to play it and wishes for a chance to play it to his one crush lucien. maybe he will once he's mustered the courage to ask luc out as more than just a friend. one day. ☆ airplanes - b.o.b feat. hayley williams jagger relates more to the chorus of the song compared to its rap verses, but more or less he agrees with the entire song. he's already taught himself to play the piano to the song and sing its chorus, while also trying to learn how to rap its verses flawlessly. so far, he's made some progress. he's getting there, step by step. ☆ blame - calvin harris this song. jagger absolutely loves the beat of the music, and he's even listened to it for a whole hour while he practiced his own musical skills. he has tried to make an acoustic version of it to post on his youtube channel with high hopes to attract more views and more interest in his music in general. it would be a stepping stone for him so that he could grow to become someone able to release original music after this song. companion:

Aspen soon learned how to perfect the art of imaging and instantly knew she wanted to pass on her grandxholi's stories to other young pups. Sure, she's good with pups, loves pups, yada yada, all that good cliche stuff. Cojinxleafbelle Name: Cavelia (cah-vay-ya) Gender: Female Picture (Where She Lives):  Extras & Art: Personality and Other Stuff Cavelia is pretty calm, for being a miner and spelunker. Since she has hardly ever been outside, she absolutely hates sunlight, and prefers the darkness of the cave she calls home. Well, some of the cave is dark, at least. A lot of it is covered by thousands of glow worms who give the cave an eerie glow that she finds beautiful and mysterious. Collecting rocks, minerals, and gems is her favorite hobby. This hobby and the fact that she likes work is the reason she mines. Selling her prized possessions is out of the question; she's very clingy with such things. Though Cavelia is calm, she's easily irritated. So if you visit her while she's mining, you'd best prepare to meet a very irritated Okogarl. |
