When I was young, there used to be a massive oak tree in my pasture. It stood with regal posture, hundreds of years old and still standing strong, green leaves fluttering faintly in the gentle whispering spring breeze. It was my own special place, my hideaway where I could rest in the shade of its mighty branches and dream of stories and adventures I'd write down some time. No one else really knew about my oak tree- it looked like all the other ones that surrounded the outer border, but to me it had an ethereal air to it all around. Like, close your eyes for a second and wake up in a wonderland, little fairies fluttering about and a unicorn peeking at the newcomr shyly from behind some flowery bushes.

My oak tree was special to me, for it gave me many inspirations for my stories- from little dewdrops on a chilly morning to a blazing stampede. Of course, you needed an imagination too, but that one oak encouraged little budding ideas to flourish. And I loved it.

Sadly, of course, I was eventually weaned. I didn't really mind leaving my mother, though I loved her very dearly, but I needed to do something on my own. Although on a supposed "exciting" adventure away from the mare pasture with the other weanlings, I missed my oak. No longer did the little ideas sprout, and I didn't have an audience of older mares to entertain anymore. The other weanlings wanted to play, not sit and listen to my tales of fantasies.
I became more reserved, quiet, almost seeming depressed. I didn't want to play, so I always appeared unfriendly and cold. So I was forgotten. Just like the old oak, one among many others, though just not the same as them.

~A few years later~

Well, I was certainly older now. A while back the farm had relocated, due to an increased threat of lightning storms and wildfires. I had been trained to ride, and often went on adventures with a young girl who brought me tasty pears and seemed to love to brush me. I liked her.

Even better, now that all the tolters I knew were more mature (and could actually listen), many would willingly come to hear my stories, even bringing their young fillies and colts, who would listen in awe of a magical world beyond their boundaries. I very much enjoyed sharing tales with them, an eventually, most tolters at the farm knew me as "Oak the storyteller." I was quite pleased with this title, and slowly, the magical oak tree of my foalhood slipped to the back of my mind, the memory gathering dust in a corner. I suppose you could say I had forgotten the very thing that inspired me to create in the first place.

A bit later, I was taken out for a ride by my owner, the girl who I had come to know as Quill. It wasn't a normal ride though, she was taking me to inspect how much damage was done to a forest in a wildfire- it had been where the farm used to be. Where I had grown up.

Picking your way through charred bits of your foalhood can be a little saddening, especially seeing all the tall, beautiful trees burnt to a crisp and the ground layered in ash. Still, I didn't remember the oak.
Quill and I, after walking around for a bit, decided to stop for lunch by a riverbed. She sat on the pebbles and pulled a lunch sack out of my saddlebags, before trusting me enough to let me roam in pasture beside the river. That pasture was the old mare pasture.
Still, I didn't remember the oak.
After grazing for a bit, something began to... becon me. Like a strange, soft voice calling my name, urging me to come. A bit suspicious but curious, I moved in that direction. Towards the back of the pasture, where many large trees had stood.
Still, I didn't remember the oak.
I followed the call, further into the woods. Something seemed familiar, but I just couldn't put my hoof on it. Something about the ethereal, airy feeling in the breeze, how the other charred trees seemed to circle a certain spot.
Still, I didn't remember the oak.
I stepped into the circle, and found what lie at its center... the charred remains of an ancient oak, that stood so mighty throughout the storm. My oak tree.
I remembered the oak.

There, in front of the stump I fell to my knees, laying before the oak. What had guided and encouraged every thought I ever had to bloom was gone, dead. I nudged the tree, but I already knew.
It was gone.
The oak was gone.
My oak was gone.
I just sat there in shock, a pony, just laying in front of a broken tree. A strange sight, but I felt broken too. All the magic had left this special place, my hiding place.
Sighing, I lay my head down on some surviving moss at the base and closed my eyes, trying to feel that last bit of ethereal fantasy before it slipped away.
But something tickled my muzzle, softly. Opening my green eyes I saw it was a tiny sprout of green, little leaves stretching up. It was a new oak. A new tree. Suddenly I sat up, noticing all around me the little green souls of past things sprouting through the soil and the ash, beginning again. I watched it in awe as they stretched towards the afternoon sun, even through the barren, charred ground.
Standing up now, I realized that the magic was being brought back, filling the forest with happiness again. The sprouts danced towards the sun, on a journey, to become the roots the past had left behind.
I realized it wasn't about the past memories, but the new life, how even in the toughest times, a fragile little green plant can blossom.
I trotted back to Quill at the river, a bouncy, happy trot.
I was Oak the storyteller, and I had a whole new tale to share.

Species Information

What Is An Orthus Serverus?

A canine species created by demons, popularized by humans.

A loyal yet suborn breed, the Serverus was specifically bred to guard and serve, even if it cost them their lives.

First created by demons, the Orthus Severus is a well built but agile dog that uses more skill than power in combat. But that is not to say that the Serverus is a breed that enjoys to fight, in-fact they don't, they just need to protect.

Orthus Serverus stand at around 90cm tall and weigh in at about 160 pounds. They are tall and slim with most of the muscle around the chest area and legs. They have a long muzzle, large erect ears and sharp pretending canine teeth.

This canine is not a breed that is looking for companionship, they want a master who will tell them what to do and put them in their place, but also some-one who will let them guard.

Artist's Notes

I based this Orthus Serverus on an Irish Terrier dog however I added a little red into the coat to give it more originality. Looks like he is burning now... :3

The mark that is most commonly positioned on the primals lower shoulders are the mark of the pack of Hach Winik, meaning the pack of true people. The mark isn't something the sima is born with, it's something carved into their skin to show of their rank and place in the pack. As an novice the sima bears the mark of the closed eye, to show their weakness and lack of understanding for the turnings of the world, they then as a warrior bears the mark of the guarded eye to show of their strength yet remaining lack of understanding. Then those few to make it to an Alpha's position gets to bear the mark of the eye of clarity to show of their found understanding of the world around them. These are however not the only type of marks found amongst the pack, some individuals adds on additional parts to their already existing mark to show of the more specific ranks and skills of theirs whilst those who has lost their jewel or rank amongst the pack gets their mark crossed out. It's also very common to see primals of the pack fully or partially covered in different marks other than the mark of the pack as this type of arts is looked upon the same as the arts known today as tattooing

These items come from his habit of hoarding, but these are special
to him. Here the story... one day he was walking beside the river and then he saw something on a tree
it was red and he curiously walked towards it what is it? he wondered.
when he had got to this tree, there was a red scarf wrapped around one of it's branches. Greedily he took it, inside
the scarf. there was sliver rings (9 to be exact), and a necklace that had red feathers and skulls, There was aslo a letter

Ferrous, quite simply put- is a twin.
Due to reaper genetics he has altered traits and is quite a bit more outgoing than his sister Ithusi, but lacks her determination. There always seems to be a rivalry between the two- some sort of childish competition is always at weigh.

Ferrous is everything his sister isn't; Brave, absent-minded, big picture oriented- not to mention his terrible manners and knack for pulling jokes that nearly always go too far.

He has to take his favorite things with him in fear he'll loose them.

Cardisha is a bit on the eccentric side. He is constantly on the search for different things that may help him in his potions or insight from those that he believes to be wise. Currently he is on the move to spread his views to other wind reapers, but sometimes isn't very welcomed by those with a clear head and sane mind. The skulls around his neck are those of his sacrifices, small birds and their red feathers as reminders of the goddess he follows, The Cardinal Goddess Cardina.

Kleeare (klee-are) are a species of nocturnal equine found on the island of Nocte. Most of the predators on the island are diurnal, hunting during the day and sleeping at night. In order to avoid the predators, Kleeare have evolved to do just the opposite, sleep during the day and be active at night. Due to this, Kleeare have whiskers and large ears to help them navigate in the dark. Though their most notable feature is their bioluminescent spots, made of bioluminescent cells and hollow, pigmentless hairs. They use these spots for communication, similar to a firefly.

What is a Long-tailed Fennex?
A Fennex is a rare subspecies of marsupial with long legs, ears and fluffy tails that are used to blanket themselves, normally found in warm but not hot climates inhabitting large, open plains. They come in varied natural colours, normally with some form of stripes on their bodies for camoflauge, and otherwise simple coat patterns.

This boy has a demonic look about him, and an unusual style of stripes huh
He's the first in my Seven deadly sins series and is Wrath, hence his blood red markings and short temper.
This style of stripes has a 25% chance of being past to offspring.

Guardian Foxes are a species of canine closely related to Fennec Foxes. Fully grown, they tend to be about the size of an adult German Shepherd or Great Dane. Humans often keep these canines as companions due to their strange and mysterious powers, which include the ability to control the dreams of their owner using the mist that surrounds their eyes, paws and tail. Feathers, usually simply used to show off the Guardian's style, are frequently found on the animal's ears and tail. What Is a Poculum Warg?

A Poculum Warg, a.k.a Warg is a mysterious creature. It's careful, shy and agile. They are omnivores and eat anything from twigs to larger hoofed animals. They usually hunt alone but can bring a mate or cubs to exchange hunt methods.
These wargs have a colorful chrystal as defense and also an floating orb between their horns. Sometimes a warg can be annoyed by its appearance and attach it to it's horns with strings decorated with pearls and feathers. In the orb there's a fluid which can do anything. Usually the powers's weak, but unique. Only the Warg knows what it contains.
The size of the warg can vary, but usually it's around the size of a Shetland pony.
Humans can befriend a Warg with a lot of care and precaution. These animals are wary and easily scared since they live far away from human hands. It takes a lot of time to tame a warg, but it sure will be worth it, it's a guarantee!

What's the black goo?
The black goo is blood, but has the consistency of black writing ink.
Story how the warg encountered the black goo:
This black goo is apart of Inks family line. It is a paresite actually, and as we all know, a paresite needs a host. In exchange for allowing the paresite to live both in and out of Ink, the paresite extends its hosts life and adds extra types of self defense.
