 Immy, she is absolutely gorgeous! I think her barn name will be River, and her show name with be Light's Twisted Path.
*squeals* aah, I'm so excited to train her! That rearing habit's going to make it tough, but I'll see what I can do. :)

About the Trainer wrote:Intro:
Dear Journal, in the next few months, I will be filling you with letters about my second, and hopefully more successful, attempt at Cottonwood Wild Horse Ranch's Extreme Mustang Makeover. First, though, let me introduce you to the person behind the pen: me! My name is Emma Lee Jones, and I'm a 20 year old who's currently attending college to become a horse trainer. My father owns a ranch down in Colorado, and he's been allowing me to use it for training the mustangs I get for the Extreme Mustang Makeover. As a horse trainer himself, he knows just how much hard work and patience needs to go into training a horse that's never been touched by human hands before. Hopefully, the two of us will be able to handle whatever mustang is thrown our way this year.

Day 1 wrote:7/22/15 - Day 1:
Dear Journal, today I get to go pick up my mustang for the Extreme Mustang Makeover! I'm so excited to actually be able to participate this year, since this is technically my first year. Yes, I did enter last year, but it didn't exactly go well. I would guess that you would know that already, though, since you were supposed to be Kaytsak's journal in the first place. I never got very far in training that beautiful boy young boy, though, due to an unfortunate injury. Let's just say that I learned the hard way that he doesn't like it when you go anywhere near his left side, and shoulder in particular. Now that I've had a bit of time to do my homework, though, I'll be doing the best I can to train this next mustang the right way. Maybe I'll still have time to go back and continue Kaytsak's training at the same time...
Anyways, enough said about last year's mustang, I am super excited to go and pick up this year's beautiful horse! I made sure to rent a trailer that perfectly meets the requirements a few days in advance, and I'm leaving the hotel I stayed at to go pick him or her up very soon. It will be a long drive to get my mustang back home, but it will all be worth it in the end. I'm hoping to be able to train this horse for some show jumping in the future, but I'll have to see what the horse I end up with is capable of. After all, I have to be the one to train it for those things. Oh, look at the time! If I don't leave now, I'll be late!
--------
I'm finally back home, and this time with my new mustang in tow! It was a bit of a longer drive than I thought it would be, but it was definitely worth it to drive all this way to recieve this beautiful mare. She's a six year old black tovero that I've decided to name River, which is based on the marking she has on her left side. I can tell that she'll be a challenge - she was certainly making a lot of noise in the trailer on the way home, but I think I'll be able to handle whatever quirks that she throws my way. After all, mares are always a little trickier than stallions, in my opinion.
She was a bit crazy when she was released into the round pen, and was rearing quite a bit once she figured out that she wasn't totally free. I'm hoping that it's because she wasn't happy about being cooped up in a trailer for so long, but if it becomes a more persisting problem then I'll do some more research on how to fix it.
Anyways, it's getting a bit late, and I still have some research to do on training tips! I'll come back with more info tomorrow.

Poor Esburn, his family is entirely made of girls XD

Okay, so this will be an impress-me!

We decided that the only requirement, pretty much, is that you have at LEAST one family art!
Since the family is a bit complex and large, it just has to include another member of the family, not the entire thing, but feel free to include them all c:

Aside from that, we just need a relationships portion, including the family!

Tips:
- Esburn loves video games and Felicity loves flowers. So names relating to one/both of those might earn you a few extra points
- Quality over quantity! It's also not fun to read over giant paragraphs.
- You're free to make a separate website for these, but just make sure that you link us in the post, stating that it's your entry.
- Go wild! Have fun with this c:

As for the family::
- Esburn:: Father :: http://esburn.weebly.com/

- Felicity:: Mother :: http://xerberus.weebly.com/felicity.html (personality will be up shortly)
---- Personality tidbit: Very sweet and gentle, but is a giant nerd. She loves science, history, and reading, and she owns a flower shop. She can be childish (a lot), but only at home, and she will literally steal fruit rollups from the pantry the moment it's there. Don't bother asking her to share. Favorite pokemon is meganium.

- Ashe:: Sister :: http://sixscsadopts.weebly.com/ashe.html

- Starfish:: Sister :: http://xerberus.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/ ... 2_orig.jpg
---- Personality tidbit: Is generally (and tries to be) mature, but can be spunky and childish when she encounters something she loves a lot. She's friendly and sweet in general, but when she's upset it's best to stay out of her way. She knows enough to leave the area when she's upset, but bother her enough and she'll blow up in your face. Not pretty.
-- Loves video games, but doesn't always like to admit it. Tries to be more girly, but is really just a tomboy inside. Has a strange addiction to animal-shaped/themed bowls. Favorite pokemon is luxray.

Feel free to PM me or Sixbane if you have questions!!

Oh man Luna. They are beautiful!

Keetins are small, agile mouse creatures that live within the trees of any forested climate in the world. They can't run very fast or fly, but they are terrific at leaping and climbing, despite their short limbs. These little guys tend to be tamed as companions and will often be seen riding their handler's shoulder, pockets or hiding in their hair. Keetins will never grow any larger than a squirrel, baby Keetins (called Kits) can be as small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. A Keetin's diet consists of their favourite food, Strawberries! However they are also seen eating other fruits and sometimes cakes.
A group of Keetins is called a Keetai (pronounced key-tie). They communicate through a series of small pips and mews.
When happy, a Keetin will release a scent from a gland inside it's ear, making it smell beautifully like strawberries.

I have no clue how this happened.

My Journal

Hi, I'm Aria Brennan. I'm 22 years old and I have worked with horses my whole life. I live in Australia and am the winner of the 2014 CWHR Mustang Makeover. I've flown back this year with my 2014 Mustang Promise and foal. Back in Australia I own many CWHR horses at Willow Wood Stables run a thoroughbred performance horse company called Willow Wood Thoroughbreds. I mainly showjump.

I am blonde haired and blue eyed and am OBSESSED with oranges and meringues. I am 170cm tall and am bright and bubbly. I'm a real joker at times and love to crack a good joke. I've had a pretty simple life so far, but things are starting to pick up as I get more work training horses. This is my journal for the 2015 Mustang Makeover. Please enjoy reading it, try to ignore my rambling most of the time!

Planes, again? I clutched my bag tightly as the plane launched itself through the thick cloud up in the atmosphere. My stomach whirled with excitement and nerves. The second Mustang Makeover, and I was back to try and help another Mustang along. My thoughts darted back to Promise. She would have landed in sunny Wyoming by now, her foal at foot. I had twisted a couple of arms to get the two over to America so I was glad to have them here for support.

After the Mustang Makeover, Promise's training had not stopped. It never stops! There is still so much more she is learning, particularly in the arena. Promise gave birth to her 'mystery dad' foal and the little colt was stunning! Things were definitely doing great. I looked out the window quickly and my heart dropped again. I kept my eyes fixed on the floor, feeling the thuds of flight attendant feet as they went to get their seats. ''Cabin and Crew, prepare for landing.''

Slightly disorientated and shaky-legged, I picked up my luggage, packing the masses of it into my loan car - the one with the biggest boot I could find! I drove over the the cargo plane centre, signing papers for about an hour before I was reunited with Promise and Foal. I stroked Promise as she paced slightly, aware of the loud jets and huge planes. I quickly loaded her into my loan trailer, securing the foal too. 'WOOF'. I chuckled to myself. 'How could I forget about you, Digger?' A short-haired black and white border collie with too much energy for that body of his bounded from the cart, instantly inspecting his surrounding. I let him jump into the passenger seat of the car, deciding to leaving his leash on for safety reasons. No one wanted to be unexpectedly love-attacked by my crazy furball!

    Image
I took a sharp breath in, map in hand as I studied the layout of Wyoming. I had rented a small place with 2 lush green meadows, a barn, a guest house, 2 arenas, a round yard and other small horsey facilities. It was secluded and quiet with a lush pine plantation - slightly unusual for Wyoming! I negotiated my way through the town to arrive at the driveway. I was to be sharing the place with the owner, Lauren. I drove carefully down the driveway, stopping in front of a grand double storey house. A woman with curly black hair and a slightly freckled face in her mid twenties welcomed me at the door with a big hug. 'Welcome, Aria! It's so great to have you here!' She led me to the guest house. It was almost like a whole new house, even surrounded by it's own 'house paddock'. We let Promise with little one at foot into the paddock - they will love it here!

I was able to settle into my house and unpack my belongings. Wyoming's beautiful landscape was everything that I had pictured from the book Flicka. It was stunning! I swallowed lumps in my throat as I opened my car door, letting Digger leap onto the second seat. It was time to collect my mustang. The drive wasn't long, but my hands dripped with sweat on the wheel. I pulled into the driveway and was welcomed by Amy Westfield again. She knew my name this time, taking me to a yard with my name on it. My heart was pounding, I could feel the pulse in my head. I clung to the bars of the yard, peering in curiously. I gasped as I took in the sight of my beautiful mustang. He was incredible! I stared in awe at his beautiful gray coat. His muzzle faded to a black and his eye was lined with it too, making his deep blue eyes pop. A small patch of black from his sabino shone through. I was instantly attracted to this horse. He was old, I could tell. He was marked with battle scars, the sign of a noble stallion who fought hard. He was wise however. His body language indicated that he would not be as skittish as Promise, but he did have his issues.

    Image

He is incredibly strong as well, with lots of stamina.

I drove carefully on the way home to ensure the Mustang was confortable. I could hear his unbalanced hooves clattering and thudding on the floor of the trailer. I opened the ramp into the round yard and let the mustang loose, watching as he tore around the yard. With the trailer parked, I grabbed a leather halter that could break just in case, and went into the round up. I planned to do join up sometime later in the week but I needed time to clean him up and observe him. He trotted with his tail high in the air, tense and fearful. I squatted down in the middle of the round yard, adrenaline tearing through my body. To dangerously put squat down near a scared wild horse is something I was hoping I wouldn't do. I waited for the Mustang to run his heart out, and after what seemed like forever, he came to a halt. Taking deep, calm breaths, I looked at the ground, inching over to the horse. He was frozen still. My eyes peeked into his before flashing back to the ground. I could see him wanting to run away, but he didn't. Something was stopping him from running. I slipped the halter over his head and buckled it quickly, watching as the mustang raised his head in alarm. He backed up, cantering around the yard in fear. I quickly ran out of the yard and sat just outside of it, watching him as he reacted to the halter being on his head. I winced, having to watch it. I knew however that I had to get a halter on as soon as possible otherwise I wouldn't be able to turn him out for fear of not getting him back again.

I opened the yard gate and let him out into my paddock next to the house paddock. My Mustang trotted over, tail in the air to greet Promise and Foal. It was like he knew them! I smiled, watching the horses interact. Sitting down once more to watch, I could feel the gelding tense slightly when he acknowledged me. I studied his filthy coat and pondered over where to start with my horse. Finding a name seemed like the way to start but I had no idea what to call my beautiful gelding. I flipped to the back of my diary and started to sketch him, running my pencil along the line of his beautiful crest from his stallion years. I shaded over his slightly dished face and contoured cheek bone, smiling as his profile began to pop out of the page. I carefully created each scar on his body, wondering just how he got each one, my imagination running wild as I played out stallion fights and scrabbles and incidents in my head. My mustang was a warrior, and I don't want to break that in him.

It feels great to be in America again!
    Goodnight Diary,
    Aria xx

Day Two

Image

'All my life, one page at a time, I'll show you my, my true colours.'

After rushing breakfast and shoving a crinkled polo shirt over my head, I speedwalked out the door, almost running into Lauren. I checked in on Promise and her colt, throwing a summer sheet over her back to protect her from the occasional winds and bugs. She stared at me with her liquid brown eyes, ears pricked. I scratched behind her ears, leaving her once more to graze. I quickly made my way to the gate of the paddock holding my Mustang. He had sure made himself at home! I grabbed a clean thin leather halter from the gate and walked over quietly. Of course, he wanted nothing to do with it so I walked towards the roundyard at the top of the paddock. I rounded him into it carefully, shutting the gate as he trotted around anxiously.
    Image

I sighed, tying the halter to the fence and walking back to the house to retrieve Promise. The foal grazed quietly as I removed her from the paddock. My weaning practice had been paying off! I put a neatly pressed white 'WWS' saddle blanket over the mare's back, followed by a black AP saddle and breastplate. Then came her boots and bridle. Promise didn't flinch as I swung into the saddle, tightening my girth once more when mounted. It felt good to be in the saddle again. I took Promise to the indoor arena, walking past the rather large jumps laid out. Lauren must have been jumping lately. They were definitely over a metre, a bit too big for Promise's type. I took one of them down to 90 centimetres. Warming her up, I took her over the jump a couple of times, feeling sweat build up on her neck. Taking her tack off and putting it away, I put her rope halter on. I vaulted onto her back, cantering over to the river to let her roll. When she was nice and damp, I scrubbed her with shampoo, getting all the dirt from her travel out of her creamy coat. Grabbing a bucket, I doused all the suds away once more, letting her dry in the warm sunlight before covering her with a sheet once more.

I looked back to the Gelding who had calmed only slightly. We had time, and lots of it. I grabbed a rope from the post and stepped into the yard. The horse tensed again. I swung the rope at him, making him run his heart out around the yard with his head high. He couldn't get away from me, he could only run in circles around me or come closer. I pushed him on, every time he slowed I flicked the rope more. What astounded me was how fit he was. I was getting dizzy turning in circles and was close to giving up and stopping. I could see the horse begin to lower his head as he cantered. I dropped the rope and turned away from him, hearing his thudding hooves cease. It was no relevation, but when I turned around he was faced to me, stock still once more like he had been yesterday. He was frozen like the ice over a lake, his wise eyes staring into my mind. I was entranced by him. There was something about this horse that was so unlike any horse I've ever worked with before. My arm flinched at the flies and the horse reacted to that, snapping out of his trance and moving off again. I left him alone, going into the tack room to put Promise's tack away in her trunk. I had brought along an AP saddle an a jump saddle, a bridle, a halter, leadrope, saddle blanket, boots, a breastplate and rugs for Promise. I was going off to buy the same for my Mustang. I hopped into my car, driving to the tack store.

It was fun to splurge a little bit. I bought an extra light synthetic AP saddle and a stretchier girth for comfort. I bought some safety-break stirrups and 4 protective horse boots. I bought a hanoverian bridle with a removable noseband and a comfy padded saddle blanket with fleece around the wither. I wanted my horse to be as comfortable as possible. I bought a 5 point breastplate, one of my guilty pleasures. Seeing as my Mustang was used to the harsh winter cold, I bought a summer sheet and a medium-fill winter rug to go over the top in winter - it was all he really needed anyway. After 20 more minutes putting more things I didn't need into my basket, I exited, heaving bags to my car and unpacking them excitedly.

When I got back to the farm, I checked in on my Mustang. He was still again and I sighed. Grabbing a long lunge rope, I went into the ring again to try the join up technique. When he had slowed and stopped, I walked up to him with my head to the ground. He snorted as I reached the clip of the rope up to his chin. *Click*. With that, he was off around the yard. I loosened my grip on the
    Image
rope, letting the contact fade as he cantered around the ring. I held onto the rope, slowly tightening it and he circled around me smaller and smaller. He finally stopped, the whites of his eyes showing as I pulled on the rope slightly and he jumped forward to avoid the pressure. I led him to the gate on a very loose rein and opened it. He jigged out, spooking at the snaking rope. 'Whooooo.' I began to go for a walk around the paddock and the horse had no choice but to follow. I took him to the river, watching him paw at the river on the very end of my lead rope. He went down to roll and I watched in awe as mud cascaded down his back, falling into the river. He rolled again to show his pure snowy coat. I got the whole picture as all the dirt dissapeared showing his creamy tail and mane. I looked at the black spot on his bottom, like a sprinkling of ash. His true colours.

Settling into my bed for the night with my Mustang grazing peacefully out in the paddock once more, I gazed at the paintings on the wall. One of them caught my eye. I studied the snowy volcano with dustings of ash on it and closed my eyes, imagining the flashes and smoke from the terrifying event of Pompeii. I had an AHA moment. My mustang was snowy and pure with sprinklings of 'ash' on him, and he was terrified of smoke and flashing. Pompeii would be his name.

First encounter
xx

It was 7 am when my alarm started to go off. Way, way too early for me. I groaned and flopped around on the bed, delaying for as long as possible. Eventually I rubbed at my face and sat up, ready to start my day. I dressed quickly and grabbed a protein bar and some coffee on my way out. I hitched the trailer to my truck and pulled out of my driveway to start the familiar, hour-long drive to Bear Run. I hopped out of the car and headed towards the main barn. I started on the left side, peeking into each and every stall on the way, taking in each horse and their info. I was about halfway down the row when I noticed a stall that seemed empty at first glance. I paused and then backed up to take a closer look. In the far corner, a shape was lying in the straw. Worried, I leaned closer and a sleepily brown and white face peered up at me and blinked pretty sea green eyes.
"Hey cutie pie, are you taking a nap like that?" The little horse nickered softly and got to her feet. Leaning back a moment I checked the info on the front of the stall door. The card read female, 4 years old, healthy. Smiling, I rubbed the pretty mare's nose before moving on down the aisle. I checked out a few more horses but I didn't get much farther than that. With a sigh, I headed back to her stall, knowing it would be useless to check out the other horses. The pretty lady had already stolen my heart.

"Come on cutie, you're gonna be just fine." I coaxed, trying to convince the spooked mare to follow me out of her stall. She took a reluctant step, and then another. "That's it cutie, almost there." Ever so slowly, we made it to my trailer. She had just begun to calm the smallest bit but she spooked again at the sight of the trailer. "What is it cutie? It's just like your stall, I promise." Apparently, she wasn't convinced because she balked again, pulling away. I groaned, "Come on pretty lady, it's okay." Another ten minutes of sweet talking and tugging at her makeshift lead, she hesitantly stepped into the trailer. I breathed a sigh of relief and closed the door behind her. "Finally."

Adjusting to the new home
xx

I pulled into my driveway and almost immediately, the mare started making a fuss. I quickly jumped out the cab of my truck and rounded the trailer. I opened the door and saw the mare straining against her tied lead. "Hey, hey relax cutie. It's ok. You're gonna be ok." The pretty lady was not buying it and practically bolted out of the trailer as soon as I unhitched her. I ran a couple steps to catch up with her and led the freaked horse toward the stables. She pranced nervously as I opened her stall door and led her in. I gently pulled the makeshift halter and lead off her as she backed into the far corner. I backed out of her stall and shut the door behind her. I leaned against the door, watching her warily check out her surroundings. Now for a name. Hm. I glanced around the empty barn for inspiration, then out toward the pasture where my other Icelandic horses grazed peacefully. Something with a C, maybe Caroline? I tried it out, "Caroline? What do you think of that?" The mare huffed and flicked her tail at me. "Ok, guess not. Ooh, Charlotte. How about Charlotte?" She glared at me from under her forelock but I just smiled at her. "Now for a show name, hm?" I shifted my weight and glanced around again. "Uhh... Chasing Horizons? Chasing Sunsets? Chasing Tomorrow?" Charlotte swung her head around to watch me curiously. "Chasing Tomorrow huh? Ok, I like that." I stood there for a few more minutes before getting my butt in gear. I moved around the barn, gathering up the matching halter and saddle blanket that I'd had prepared for my new horse and hanging them up on her stall door. Lastly, I checked the spare bridle and saddle that would be Charlotte's before moving on to my daily chores.

Sima #502 based on this drawing by Qualeo
by fairy king @ Tue Jul 21, 2015 6:36 am [Reply]

What is a Sima?
Simas are cat/wolf creatures basically. Their paws resemble a wolves while their body structure could resemble a cat. Simas are also known as 'Sword Mammels'. This name comes from their tail. The tail is the most important part of a Sima's body. They resemble a sword most of all. They are thick and fluffy at the base and when the go down the tail, it gets thinner then widens into two tail guards like the guards on a sword. The jewel acts like the blade.

The jewel of a Sima comes in various shapes, sizes and colors, in which they make a Sima unique. Their eyes are always the same color as he jewels unless they have a special condition. Simas have a furry body, their mane around the neck the most furry of all. Even their ears are fuzzy. Baby Simas are more so however, with furry lips, poofier manes and slightly larger ears than what their heads would allow.

Simas are omnivores, meaning they could eat anything from fruit to the meat of a rabbit and even to things like candy or cake. Their teeth are sharp in the front with molars in the back to chew with. All Simas live or come from tropical places. Most are house Simas though and are transferred to other locations where they live with humans. In the wild they are usually in packs of ten. They are social creatures so that's good. Some Simas mate for life, while others like temporary mates.

The jewels of Simas glow at the night, illuminating the darkness when they want. Some jewel colors however cause darkness while others cause more interesting powers.

A Sima has two types of horns that are found in the wild. They are uncommon though to find a lot with them. There are long ones and short ones. Babies don't know which they got until they grow up.

He is not one to start up a conversation but is willing to talk to anyone. Once you get him going xbal is a chatter box. He could go on for hours just about one trip he has been on. He likes to day dream and often will trail off with a sentence half way finished because he gets distracted with his own thoughts.
He adores watching the history channel, and the discovery channel, and anything that deals with myths and runis of any kind. one of his biggest dreams is to go deep sea diving to ruins so he can study the effect water has on them.
Xbal very much dislikes people who can't sit still. He enjoys just sitting and watching the sky, or the clouds of whatever is in front of him. He also dislikes heights and is rather afraid of anything much higher than three feet. He always stays on the bottom floor of any hotels he visits.
