indentThe for name Amitiel stems from a reference to the Archangel Amitiel, who is also known as both 'The
Angel of Truth and Peace' and 'The Forgotten Angel.' Throughout many lists of Archangels, Amitiel went
unlisted, as well as going unmentioned in most, if not all, accounts.
indentAmitiel, the mako, shows many similar traits to the rumored Archangel. To start, he places much
value in the ideals of truth and peace. He is a loving being, willing to understand most every faults which
he may find in one passerby or another. Additionally, he is an advocate for the idea of the word "sonder,"
meaning that he is aware that each random passerby has a life as vivid and complex as the life he lives
day to day.
indentWhen it comes to his personality, Amitiel has proven himself as rather complex. To start, he is
honest. He is not known, nor would he ever consider, to tell a lie. While such a trait may seem or
sound petty, it is not something this mako takes lightly. In his opinion, to tell a lie - even one to be thought
of as an insignificant "white lie" is comparable to betrayal. In theory, while it might not seem like much or
cause a negative change, even if with good intentions, to not tell the truth and be honest is much like the
breaking of a bond holding two together. Therefore, with no intention to lie to anyone, Amitiel feels the best
policy is to be completely honest, plain and simple and within every meaning of the word. While he cherishes
honesty, however, such a trait has made him very blunt. He will never beat around the bush or try to sugar-
coat something for the sake of someone else. To do as such, he claims, would be an injustice. It would not
benefit any of the parties involved, and would only cause hurt in the end. Much like pulling off a bandaid, it
would be better off to tell the each detail as it is to save from a second wave of pain, worse than the first.
indentNext, Amitiel is able to go more often than not unperturbed. This means that usually, he is not concerned
or perturbed. On an average day, he would not be found to be upset or anxious about something. He instead
goes about things with a calm disposition and composure in tact. He is one to handle situations as they come
to him, not about to allow worries to weigh him down or make him unable to get the job done. He allows issues
to go noticed, yes, but worries to roll off of his shoulders. While he will address them, he is amendment that
such worries will not hold him back. However, while most things don't bother Amitiel, there are several things
which he is rather finicky about. He is meticulous in several respects, liking things they way he does them,
making it difficult for him to accept help or favors in a number of tasks, seeing as he fears or simply knows
that it will not be done in the specific way he likes it to be.
indentThis leads into the fact that Amitiel is also determined, readily able to accept a duty many classify as
tough or challenging. Simple obstacles will not get in his way, and little can stop him from at least trying to do
whatever it is that he has set his mind on. This young mako shoots for the moon, and will settle for nothing
else. However, this also leads into a negative trait. As determined as Amitiel is, many times he is described
as stubborn. He believes time and time again that he is right, his stubborn pride not allowing him to see a
different angle. Even if he knows otherwise, he is less willing to give into an outsider's suggestion than he is
continue down the same path and receive undesirable outcomes. This makes him unfavorable in the eyes of
many, as his ego and pride may get in the way or forging true, healthy relationships which include an attitude
of give and take.
indentAnother key traits Amitiel possesses is found in his intelligence. This mako holds a sense of intelligence
which is actually quite striking to some. Many are learned in books or street smarts, while Amitiel is more
accustomed to and fond of the former. What he lacks in the suave department, he had gained in additional
book smarts. While not the most intelligent being to ever walk the earth, there is little denying that Amitiel
knows more than just a respectable amount. However, this has led to him becoming overcritical
at times, forgetting that he might know more than those around him. If anything, it is both a blessing and
a curse, making him condescending on occasion, unable to comprehend why one might not understand or be
aware of the same information which he might know offhandedly. As one might expect, as a result, this also
makes Amitiel unskilled in conversing, sometimes unable to find a topic he can hold a conversation with out
of the fear that it won't be known. Therefore, he had a tendency to take long pauses between clipped words,
all fit into short conversations of more silence than actual words. It is only if he knows the other party well
that he allows himself to loosen up and hold a proper conversation. It is through his understanding
that he is able to overcome. While he is more than readily willing to excuse faults, it is through the
understanding of his own flaws that he came overcome his inhibitions and speak openly as he wants to.
However, this stems from trust and a strong bond, of which he has with few.
indentFinally, Amitiel is both detached and wanting for equality. It is natural, he believes, to want for all to be
treated as equals - seeing as he thinks of all as such with discrimination. However, he is also very detached
from others, only allowing few to get inside his walls. He feels the need to be guarded, and thus, does not
share his otherwise strong opinions with many. Additionally, his poor use of conversation makes it hard to
become attached majority of the time, so he finds himself rather out of the loop, for lack of a better term.
While he yearns to make a difference in some way and aid in others finding ways to rise above discrimination,
he is too disconnected to do so.
