ShE iS GorGEOus ahhhhhHHH! I'm gonna have so much fun taming her! I think she'll just be blind ; 0 ; Ughhh I cannot get over her thank you so much Name: Become Ethereal - Ether Gender: Mare Halter Color: Brown / leather forgive me if I do not finish my tasks, life has been extra chaotic for me recently orz
![]() // What's that? Who's there?// The mare stared blindly my direction, her ears standing erect, listening. Though she was clearly blind, she was still perceptive, it seemed that she knew exactly where I was in relevance to the things around me. I would have expected such an animal to be timid, skittish at the slightest noise or obvious indication of movement, but she only seemed inquisitive. I made a small noise of curiosity, and one of her ears twitched at the sound, as if questioning me further. ♥ 2. -Adjusting to the new home The first night the mare stood out in the pasture so she could have some space to roam, but she didnt move far from where she was left. It was a little difficult to lead her to the stables, but, once we got her to settle she was very still going in. She followed a very easy going routine for the first week, with minimal but not nonexistent human interaction so we wouldnt stress her out with out presences, and surprisingly she followed that schedule very well. The mare was silent, at best, but even if her foggy lavender eyes did not move to acknowledge the things around her, you could tell that she was perceiving everything. Her ears would twitch at the sound of a footstep, not that the stables are particularly loud since she was the only Tolter to inhabit our stables at the time, but it was still remarkable to see her head turned in your direction when you went walking to her stall. As the days went on, she gradually got a lot less tense. The dogs ceased to scare her, though their undeniable urge to herd her into pastures was no less than profound. In spite of this, however, she was surprisingly tolerant. Based on her knack for adapting to many situations quite well, I assume that the first spook with the dogs was enough to prepare her palette for their vibrancy. One of the first things I noticed is that she very much prefers to be outside whether at night or during the day. And because of this, I commissioned to have a fairly sized paddock sectioned off in one of the pastures so that she could walk during the day and night, but of course, not go too far and end up hurting herself. ♥ 3. -Introduction of the halter "C'mon girl, you've at least gotta let me try," I murred, holding the halter in one hand while holding the other against her nose, gently stroking it and hoping to sooth her. She had been less than pleased with my attempts to put the halter I had made for her on, though thankfully, her expression of 'less than pleased' was really no more than a gentle head toss or withdrawal to evade my advances. While her patience seemed boundless, mine was beginning to wear thin, I had many other creatures to tend to, and this mare had been here long enough that she should have been wearing a halter. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a moment, reining myself back in from the frustration that festered in my heart. Such negative feelings were infectious, I couldn't let myself get in the way of this. After a moment of silence, Ether eventually nudged her head against my chest, and pulled me back into the now. I chuckled a little bit and patted her cheek, pressing the halter gently to her neck. To my surprise, she did not flinch away as she had before, and when I acknowledged this, I smiled. Slowly, with renewed patience, I brought the halter up her neck, before I was just able to slip it onto her head. The halter itself was a richly colored brown leather, with silver buckles and a soft padding on the inside to better suit her comfort. Having her pressed against my chest made it relatively difficult, but it was better than not being able to do it at all. Once I got the halter strapped on, I slid my hand along her jaw and let my fingers trace the strap resting on her cheek. On the leather there was a metal plate with her name engraved into it, and I could feel the dips where the word 'Ether' had been carved. "That wasnt so hard, was it?" I said softly, and she only huffed in response, her head still firmly pressed against my chest. ♥ 4. -Meeting a friend "What do the stars look like?" with Osteo The mare had been living on our property for nearly a month now, and she'd not strayed near any other equine or stable hand since her arrival. This concerned me greatly, as I was not sure whether or not she would prove to be a danger to both herself and to those around her. I was wise to be concerned, because one after noon a storm rolled in and hands were all rushing to get our animals inside. Our newest assistant went to go retrieve her from her paddock, and she wasted no time in evading him, and she was not seen until the next morning when we found her leaning against the fence of another ranches pasture, sidling along side a stallion who appeared to be blue taffy. I didn't know how long she'd been there, though the way she seemed to be at comfort beside the stallion led me to believe it had been for some considerable amount of time. When I went to retrieve her, Ether was less than willing to move from her spot there beside the fence. At complete loss for what to do, I stood there scratching my head, but then I noticed a person rounding the fence and approaching with haste. I rushed to meet them half way, and soon found that it was the owner of the ranch. She explained to me that Ether had been here for the better half of the night, she'd seemed rather shaken, and refused to move from the fence, and the stallion who'd taken to the spot beside her had down right refusing to come in when he'd been called, and she came out to come get him herself, she found out why. I apologized to her though she insisted it wasn't a problem at all, and invited me to stay until a trailer from Axiom could come and retrieve Ether and myself. Perfectly contented with this, we were both able to guide the horses around the fence to the main stables of her ranch, where we could get Ether some water and food without having to separate them. Osteo's owner was very hospitable, I've gotten into the habit of calling them Flurr, and they were really fun to hang out with. Despite the initial scare of having a horse escape in the middle of the storm, I'd like to say it ended rather well for not only me, but for Ether as well. ![]() post scriptum; the ship has sailed ♥ 5. -Gaining your horse's trust ♥ 6. -First time with saddle ♥ 7. -Ground work ♥ 8. -First ride ♥ 9. -Free spot |

Teke #431 - Seal Bay Blanket Appaloosa
based on this drawing by Dia.
Welcome to the teke apocalypse! Ideally, there will be a large number of Phaethon's Tekes available for adoption at one time. However, because of lack of planning and some unexpected road blocks, it may end up being a little less organized.
This does not change that there will be a mass adoption event like right now :D Please draw her! The art can be a headshot or a full body, sketch or animation. It's your choice, have fun! Limit is 1 piece. This will end on September 12th.

Name: Italian Lover//Valentina Mate: Call this a Crime//Monsta X Gender: Mare Dam: -- Sire: -- She's so pretty! For all my stories, I'm going to use the alias 'Sen'. 1. First Encounter ![]() Sen hadn’t meant to get the mare. She had only been wandering through the fair to get a few things. Not to get a horse. And then she had seen the mare. And there was this deep want, no, need, to have the mare. So she had asked around. Apparently, the mare was an eccentric thing that went by Valentina. She was being sold because she didn’t allow anyone to ride her, and that was certainly not a trait a horse that was bought to be ridden should have had. Sen spent the next hour bargaining a fair price, and then another to get Valentina into the trailer she had rented. Valentina seemed frightened, so she ran her hands over the soft muzzle for a moment before getting into the truck. The small amount of time it took to get home seemed to stretch on endlessly for Sen as she thought of all the worst things that could happen. Valentina stayed silent the entire trip. When Sen had finally backed down her driveway, she jumped out of the truck in record time to see if Valentina was okay. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the mare's eyes peering out cautiously and stoked the warm soft nose that was poking out. She was already growing attached. She opened the gate to the field and carefully backed the truck up to it. She wanted to make sure she did this exactly right, so as to not frighten the beautiful mare any more than she had already. When she released Valentina, the mare trotted out and surveyed her surroundings, not going very far in. The mare seemed wary as she slowed her tort to a walk and cautiously peered at the fence that cut the field in two.. Then she laid down on the grass just barely inside the pen and stared Sen straight in the eye. Sen could feel her breath get stuck in her chest as she got lost in violet eyes of pride. And then the mare lowered her head and it seemed as if she were bowing her head to Sen. Sen's eyes widened and then closed as she bowed her head back. She could feel a spark of something as she opened her eyes again and walked out of the pen. She closed the gate slowly, still somewhat dazed at what had just happened. Sen was glad she had gone to the fair. ![]() Reference: Word Count: 408

2. Adjusting to the New Home ![]() Unfortunately, nothing was as easy after that first day. It seemed as though the mare had it out for her, actually. Valentina did not take to her at all, and Sen started to doubt there had been anything between them. In fact, she spent most of her days simply watching the mare as she inspected her field. Never interacting, Sen got used to this routine, forgetting how dangerous it was to leave a horse alone for too long. She realized how bad it was while talking to another owner and breeder about that very subject. The next day when Sen let Valentina out, she followed after the mare at a considerable distance, careful not to be to close, but close enough that Valentina would anxiously look behind her often. This went on for a few days until the mare didn't look behind her anymore except by chance. And then Sen moved closer. This was the routine for the next few week until Sen was nearly right next to Valentina and the mare didn't mind. Sen did a small leap for joy (mentally, so she wouldn't startle Valentina, who was taking a nap) and smiled widely. This was great progress compared to the mare a few weeks ago. Though she knew this was just a first step, Sen still basked in the glow of achievement a little longer before leaving to her duties that waited. ![]() Reference: Word Count: 234

Basic info. Show name- Under the Persimmon Tree Barn/Call name- Lio Gender- Stallion Height- 15hh Age- 6/7? x Misc info. -Walks with a slight limp which could be from a previous injury. -Suspected to have weak joints. Needs confirmation History -Captured in Arizona -Bought by old woman -Abandoned due to woman's death -Left to die in paddock -Neighbor owner called Snow Owl Stables to check if he was still alive -Taken in by Snow Owl Stables Personality Very timid, and reluctant. Lio is thought to have once been very exited and eager. When threatened or scared, Lio does nothing but cower, or shy away. He refuses to fight back, and seems to just accept whatever injury could come from the threat. He is very tolerant of other horses, but seems to get nervous around anything taller, or larger than he is. We have plans on pairing him up with a stable mate. Fears and triggers
-Large objects/animals -Loud noises -Fences |

April
Sunday, the 20th 10:35 am ![]() When we found him, Lio was scrawny, malnourished and covered in dirt. He didn't have a known name, so we got to choose what to call him. Lio was put in a small outdoor corral which was in worse condition than he was. He once belonged to an old woman, who had no idea how to take care of a horse. He was never tamed, or trained, but he seems to be fine with us being near him. He doesn't trust us yet, but we are working on getting him into the trailor. Sunday, the 20th, 11:20 am ![]() It took almost an hour, but we got Lio into the trailer, by coaxing him in with an apple. We didn't want to make him nervous by using a halter or rope. He doesn't trust us yet, but after all he's been through, I'm not surprised. |
