I'm balto. (my fc account can be found here), and well, I'm not really sure what I can say to prove myself - I mean, I'm just the original teenager going for a bunch of pixels it seems, but to me these characters are much more then pixels. I may not seem active with most of my characters through the forums here, but I tend to be more of the person to make headcanons or roleplay through PM's. I do draw my characters a lot, but mostly through traditional art, or quick sketches through here. I care for all my characters, and develop them all through, giving each a unique character that separates them all apart, and I develop them more as those characters grow, in age and closer to my heart. And since I am Australian myself, and seeing the character she was before, I feel I can connect to her.

Well, that depends - I actually rp a fair lot with most of my characters - if it be on the forums on CS or through PM. I don't tend to roleplay much through other sites or skype - but since I have both that and a FC account, if it is absolutely needed I can move to roleplaying there as well. I generally like roleplaying, and I am fairly active as a user. I tend to roleplay everyday with the current roleplays I have now, responding as much as I can for the day until I end up falling asleep, getting distracted, or generally when I don't have that much muse to continue on with.

Kalari Darwin Ulrich is the name of this bean - I have decided to keep her name the same. Now Kalari is an aboriginal word, with the meaning of 'daughter', while Darwin is not a name, nor means anything, but it is the capital of the Northern Territory, the one, and biggest, of the three territories found in Australia. And her last name, Ulrich, was carried down to her by her father, Braxton. Kalari is a female, although as she grows older she may become Agender or Bigender, and right now she is 10, reaching her double digits gratefully, and soon to be a teenager.

Kalari is a rather...interesting character. She is rather strange in the sense of most, in the way that she acts for her age. But she is still normal, in the terms of being an older child, and getting into her true hobbies and such. She has a lot of traits that clearly make her stand out from others, and from her family - but the more unique, the better. She likes being strange and different, doing the things other children might not do, and she likes to just stand apart from them, being herself and how she will end up growing to be. She likes being her, and even if you were to ask her, at the age she is now, she would say she never wants to change, not for anyone, because she has decided she will always be who she wants to be, not what someone else wants her to be. She's happy with herself, in her own way, and is fairly proud of herself, hoping her parents feel the same.
She is a rather friendly bean to most, despite her being rather strange to most - she is the unexpected friend, the one you least expect to make friends with because of how she usually acts - and her friends usually get used to her weird antics. She is the type that usually calms down around friends that have known her long enough, and she even stops acting so strange sometimes. She isn't the one to drive them away, and she is actually a very good friend - always looking for new opportunities for her and them, and she always looks out for them. She cares about her friends a lot, and would always make sure that they are ok before they can ask about her, as she wouldn't want to lose a friend to any cause. But even that may seem a bit too much at times - and she gets told this sometimes, that she may be doing too much to see if they're alright.
But even if she is a fairly friendly bean, Kalari can be pretty...annoying, too. She's a rather loud bean, and some of the questions she asks can be just plain...not stupid, not really sure of the wording to use...but questions that seem to be just obvious with their answers, or really have no answer, and she knows this. Maybe she does this on purpose and finds a bit of fun out of another beans annoyance. She doesn't do this to too many beans, only ones she may not like or may not know, or she may do it for the fun of it, and because she may be bored. One of the many things she may ask is 'what time is it' constantly, or 'has the time changed yet' every two seconds it seems - and that seems to be the most asked question with her that she knows she asks everyone at some point, even her own family.
Kalari is rather intelligent for her age, not at the point where she knows everything better then everyone, but to the point where it is just above average. She doesn't tend to show it off, and even acts stupider around most then what she really is. She finds this to be better, and that's how she seems better to be around, in her mind, by not showing off her true talents. She is only that bit smarter in certain areas - such as animals, planets, history ect, but not that smart in other areas, like maths and pretty much anything to do with numbers - since she is sure she won't have to use those when she is older. But she does like to show she is smart around her family, and likes to try and teach her two little siblings a thing or two - which proves to be rather difficult due to the fact they are both fairly younger then she is. But she attempts to anyway, hoping something will stick to their brains of what she says.
She is more of an adventurer then anything, liking to explore the vast world of the outside, even outside of her parents supervision, much to their dismay at times. She likes to take a look, to see what is, and was different to the day before, and what is new today, something she doesn't know and something she can choose to explore. She likes to observe her surroundings, getting to know all the new landscapes and all the different weathers, and how bad or good they may be. She likes to be knowing about the place, how it might change, by how much or how little - places like the Australian outback, how little rain the deserts get, how bad the conditions can get and how any living organism can survive there, that is the type of stuff she likes to learn, and that is why she explores - to find these clues, to answer to her ever-going questions, to help her for later in life, if she were to ever even use this knowledge.
Kalari also seems to be the little sensitive bean, of course this isn't over words being said about or to her, or sounds, but rather some small things - her ears are very sensitive to being touched, and she is a bit sensitive of the heat and the cold, despite her 'claiming to be Australian' and being able to 'handle the massive heat waves'. When in reality she is a bit sensitive to that stuff, and has to make sure that she does handle herself like she should. She doesn't like mentioning it, and will go a bit red in the face if something was to be mentioned by another bean, mostly her parents. And she denies anything that is said about hr being sensitive, especially her ears - she can't even have a fly land on them until they flick to get the fly off! It irritates the poor bean, but with there being so many things wanting to land on your ears in the outback, she has to learn to deal with it...and somehow she succeeds.
She likes to often play, you know how little kids like to pretend to be animals as they play? Kalari is one of those beans that does that...but she does go a bit extreme with how much she will 'pretend'. Her favourites to play as are the kangaroo, and the saltwater crocodile, both native in Australia. But she does go a bit...well, overboard, as you may want to describe it. She has developed a strange habit that comes from acting like both of these animals. While she pretends to be a kangaroo, she will actually spit saliva onto her arms, and she claims this helps her cool down - as the mammals do during the intense heat in the deserts. As for being a saltwater crocodile, she will actually bite anything like it is prey, treating it like a crocodile would, and it is usually pretty hard for her to let go, as she bites down pretty hard. Not that she wants to do it on purpose, it is just part of her now, part of her instinct.
And last of all, Kalari is one of those types who may correct things that are said wrong...without intentionally doing it. This especially comes around when she sees other beans trying an australian accent - usually telling them "You know, most Australians don't speak like that, its usually just those who live in the outback." and "We don't usually say maccas or roo or arvo, we so those words pretty normally most of the time." She just...she doesn't know why she does it, or why it happens, it just does, programmed into her or something along those lines, it a natural thing that happens, and its not like she really minds, because she would get offended if some bean were to come and try to correct her on her own knowledge. The one thing that annoys her the most of the whole 'shrimp on the barby' saying - since they don't exactly call them shrimps, but rather prawns. She has to make sure she has the most common slang of Australians to use, and doesn't like it when everyone else thinks they're so stereotypical.

has to know what the time it is all the time - ties in with personality paragraph three - As it is explained, she seems to have a little obsession with what time it is, and the bean will always ask constantly what the time is. It doesn't matter if she has the time clearly within reach, she will ask. It is unknown of how this bean developed the rather strange habit - maybe it was so she would have the close comfort of always being able ask what the time is, the comfort of being able to always ask and get the answer - she is rather wary of time, and the phrase of 'so much to do and not enough time' may apply to the young bean - she is always finding it hard to do things on time, and so she has developed this habit - along with the fact she needed something else to annoy others with.
flicking her ears as if something is irritating her - ties in with personality paragraph six - Due to the fact that Kalari here has pretty sensitive ears, if anything were to land on them, or touch them, they would instinctively move. Its not like she does it, the ears move on their own. Not only will she swerve them around to hear, but if even one fly happens to land on her ears, they will flick like crazy to get it off. This is like what animals will do, especially in the intense heat when there are many flies and bugs. And its suppose that she maybe took this from wild and domestic animals alike, but she has always had her ears this sensitive, no matter how small they are or how much fur they have, and she will always be flicking them in annoyance, at the smallest of bugs coming along and landing on them.
will sometimes randomly bite, it may be a piece of paper, a pen, a glass, and sometimes, unfortunately the person closest to her - ties in with personality paragraph seven - Yes...now this is a little habit that the bean has indeed gotten from animals. Since she does have her interest on the lore behind Australia, as well as the animals and their own lore, she does know a fair bit about her favourites - including the crocodile. She likes how much the animals can take, the big prey they can take down and really she admires that sheer power that they hold, and only within the set of jaws they have obtained. So she goes around and often pretends to be one - even towards unlucky other beans who may of strayed too close to where her 'territory' is. The beans that she pretends to attack can be any size or age, even adults she has tried to take down, especially her parents...not that she has ever succeeded, even with her parents. Its all about the element of surprise.
putting saliva on her arms - ties in with personality paragraph seven - And yet again, another unusual habit she has gained from watching too many of those animal documentaries. This time, it ties in with Kangaroo's, the biggest marsupial, and a fairly strong Australian animal. Now, in the summers that they get in the deserts, the temperature can skyrocket, and with all sources of water, food, and shade (if there has been a fire) gone, how do you suppose that these lasting animals survive the intense heat? With their own saliva of course! And she will demonstrate this if she has to. The kangaroos do it to cool themselves down, and the young bean thinks its a great idea, doing the exact same when she may feel a little hot...or maybe just to get other beans freaked out a bit by what she's doing.
correcting over beans with australian accents/slangs - ties in with personality paragraph eight - This one is the least strangest out of the five she has currently so far...but by far the one she likes to express the most. No one is really sure why she displays this, or what caused her to act like this in the first place. But it seems to grind the gears of the young bean when others attempted an australian accent, or simple try to 'speak like an aussie and use all the slangs', because, in reality, most australians don't even speak like that, only the ones who live in the outback. Sure, you can use the occasional word - such as 'maccas' or 'g'day', but apart from that you should very rarely use it in the cit...since it is going to be hard for some to even understand you! As well as some get the accent way off.

Mohatu
Her first father, as she may say, and unlike with Braxton, she doesn't tend to stay as close with him. Sure, he is an assassin, and really, that's cool in her own opinion...but there's something that tends to throw her off. Sure, she still loves him and all, and thinks he is an excellent father, but there's just...something, she isn't sure how she can exactly describe it. Sure, he seems to give her more freedom then Braxton would, and she actually does appreciate that - right when she is getting to the point of not being able to handle Brax's protective ways no more, and he does seem to be the one that would be best for a cuddle to most, but that doesn't seem to be how she thinks it. She doesn't tend to cuddle with him, and she feels rather...strange, almost awkward, around him, her own father! Now that may be weird, but he has a certain aura she doesn't like. She tends to stray from him, and the path - one thing is for certain, at least, she won't be taking the same dangerous path he has!

Braxton
Her other father? Well, he is her favourite, but at the same time, he tends to not be, she thinks he is much too protective - although for her younger siblings it is understandable, but she is the oldest bean, so by far the most mature, right? She should be the most safest from this treatment...but still manages to get it, one too many times she can remember being wrapped in bubble wrap. It was fun to pop at least. But at the same time, she does take her time to admire him, for his job and well, how successful he is. She was never one for music, but she can proudly say that she likes his heavy metal, despite it not being her taste at all, and rather proud that he's her father, and she wouldn't want to swap him for any other bean in the world. She is happy with him, and although she knows she won't be able to be as successful as him, she likes to think she might. She also sometimes goes to where he plays - although she tries to avoid it most of the time.

Nuka
Out of her two youngest siblings, he is the closest one to her age, so being the second child of their fathers - of course, she did wish he would be that close to her in personality too. Sure, they're both annoying, to a point, but he is more arrogant, like he does whatever he does on purpose, and for some reason that just annoys her so much. Sure, he is younger then she is, sure, he may grow out of it at some stage...but at this point she very much doubts it. It may just be permanently stuck to the younger bean, and she may not fear that, but she does know that if he stays like that, he is going to be such a terror to grow up with. For the most part, she does try to ignore this, and she still does love her brother, and can be a bit protective of him - on accident, of course, but he just tends to ruffle her fur the wrong way, which can lead to the two siblings having quarrels which may only be broken apart by their parents, one each picking them up and taking them away. But in the end, she can't hate the young bean forever.

Aisling
Ahhh, her younger sister. You see, unlike with Nuka, she takes great pride in the younger bean, loving the attitude she has managed to pick up, even with their fathers always trying to keep her in. She even tries to help her little sister out sometimes, despite being protective of her, she does know that the younger bean needs to get out once in a while, and often gets caught for this - a miracle she hasn't gotten worse punishments. She loves how sweet her sister is, and tries to protect her from those beans who wouldn't be the best of friends (for example, Yoichi) and even at home, she does tend to try and keep an eye on Aisling when no one else does - which is hardly ever - but if the bean gets stuck she doesn't go to help, if there is something wrong or someone she wants to talk to, she never stops her, only if she asks for help or if she knows the other bean is dangerous, but apart from that she knows her sister needs freedom at some point. And so she tries to help and give it to her, even if only for a little while.

Steaphan
She doesn't know this older bean too well, to be honest - she has seen him with his youngest two sons from time to time, not really ever talking to them - once she got a scrape and he helped patch it up before her parents noticed, but he is the rather shy bean. She appreciates it when he helps, if she does need it, and even then, she tries to help him...tries. More then once has her help 'failed', but he tends to wave it off with a shaky smile, telling her to run along to home now before it got too dark. And she would, how strange for her to listen to a bean she barely knows...but she knows he's a good bean, he wouldn't do anything to harm her...probably not how her parents would see it if they ever saw her with him. There is something strange about him...he's kind, but at the same time, protective, especially of his own sons, who are both teens...one of a kind of a beam, she would say, one of a kind, and her opinion would never change.

Poco
Kalari knows this bean more then she knows Steaphan - after all, she is the mother of one of her closer friends. She's kind and sweet and gentle, and as a babysitter she's surprised she has enough time for her own son - somehow she does make enough time. Sometimes she goes over and its Poco who greets her, asking how she is before ushering her inside, saying Meekael would be right down in a moment. She would get her something to drink and eat while she waited, and often made small talk with the younger bean. She looks up to Poco, in a way, the mother figure she never had, you could say - despite the fact she does love her fathers. But that doesn't stop from young Kalari wondering how it would be like to have a mother - how different it might be from having two fathers, and although she would never change her parents for anyone in the world, needless to say that the results were interesting, different, and she did like it, considering this bean a mother motherly figure.

Lionela
Another rather shy bean that Kalari has encountered, she is younger then Poco and Steaphan, and even her own parents. But she is still an adult. She saw the bean with two others one day and went up to them, asking who they were. Of course, Liona had gotten shocked, jumped back and hiding from her, almost. But she relaxed once she saw it was only a young bean. She then introduced the three of them - she had a bit of a stutter in her voice. Kalari got to know her a bit more after that, and found out the passion of the older bean - puppets. She found this rather strange, but after one show she saw, she decided it suited her well - she has even caught her speaking to the puppets before, treating them like she would children, before spotting her and shyly packing them away. Maybe she was trying to hide something? Kalari never questioned it - after all, she did know she had a few strange quirks herself (and Lionela has been a survivor of her biting one.), and just decided that maybe she was normal in her own way.

Ishimaru
This dude is cool, thats all Kalari thought at the time. When she was first introduced to him, was when she first ran into Lionela. He had made a comment towards the name choice of the third bean, Elias - stating to call him Elia. Of course, Ishimaru got whacked over the head and the small bean laughed. She's spoken to him from time and time again - him telling her stories about how he was that 'awesome kid that everyone pined after' despite the fact she knows its a lie - Elias told her - but she lets him have his fun. She questioned about his scars, and he simply told her that some things were left unexplained. That didn't stop her from asking multiple times afterwards, and of course she always got the same message, the same words, and no leads on from that. Eventually she did drop it, after asking Liona and Elia and getting nowhere, but she still is rather curious, and she knows that he knows that - but refuses to tell her - she may know one day.

Elias
The third bean of the trio she had met, and as far as she knows, Ishimaru's boyfriend. He seems more calmer then the yellow and orange bean, but seems to be in more control sometimes, especially when Ishi makes comments about his name, a little fun, he is usually shot down. He's a reporter, which Kalari herself finds pretty cool, although that does mean the green bean has to travel, meaning that Kalari doesn't really talk to him as much as she would Ishimaru and Lionela. But she has formed a good bond with the older bean - he is almost like Steaphan, he is more of the carer, making sure she is alright and making sure she doesn't hurt herself - and of course, making sure Ishimaru doesn't take the younger bean into any unintentional danger. He is almost like her guardian angel, in a sense - even when he isn't around, he often calls Ishimaru, almost always when she is with him, telling him to be careful and not to harm the child - and thanks to him, Ishi hasn't...yet.

Meekael
Her best friend. That is all how Kalari can describe him - her best friend. She adores the bean, like friends would, they play jokes and have fun and tease each other like friends do. Kalari makes the habit of correcting him when he uses the term 'maccas', and the two burst into laughter. She enjoys having her around, and somewhere in her head, she is sure that he is thinking the same of her. Other beans like to make fun of the two sometimes, saying they'll end up together like their parents, bit little Kalari swore she would never consider Meekael like that - not in that way, for she wouldn't want to ruin the friendship that the two of them have, and she would be sure that considering each other like that would be the downfall. Even if he is a guy, and as they say 'guys can't be friends with girls', she wants to try and prove that myth wrong, to show them that guys and girls can be friends - more then that - then can become the best of friends, and no one would question it, not once it was done.

Yoichi
When the name of this other bean comes up around her, it seems that Kalari shrugs it off, around others especially. But when she is by herself, or one of her closest friends, thats when she lets what she bottled up, out. Of course, she doesn't screech with rage - too much out of character, but she does mutter under her breath, coming up with insults and new ways to trick the other bean. She hates her with a passion - one of the only beans she hates, really. She doesn't know what it is about her - it might be just the sheer presence of the bean, but all she knows for certain is that the two of them are enemies, going head-to-head, quarreling whenever they get the chance - although Kalari herself tries to prevent this in public. Way too out of hand. The other bean just...ugh, she seems to disgust her, at the very least. Of course, this outback bean tries to use what she has learned to avoid her, but of course this doesn't always work so well for her, sadly. But she has learned how to control herself around Yoichi...sometimes.

Kalari in fact does have a pet, a little Dingo cross pup, who goes by the name of Dingo - creative, right? She found the young pup not too long ago, who was found beside the unmoving body of his mother, whining. She had taken him in - and since she had been with a friend, they had given him a little something before she decided to go and take the pup home. She did her best to hide him from her parents, but at the same time, she tried her best to care for him. He has now grown, a whole later, to gain some of his mother's traits, such as scavenging for scraps of food, which she does try to give him plenty of. He is almost in full health, and although she does love him, she knows she might have to release him into the wild. But by the way things are going, he might not be able to. She loves him like she would if she had a child, and the pup often rides in her pouch, content.

Once Kalari reaches the age of adult, she will not follow down the paths or either father, and go on her own. She will be opening her own animal rescue sanctuary - of course, it will be opened in the outback, and will mostly have orphaned kangaroos that she has found and taken in, but there will be other orphaned animals as well, Australian or not, that she has taken in to nurse back to health. If they are orphaned as young animals, they will not be released back into the wild, and will become life-long residents of the sanctuary, but if they were a bit older when orphaned or found, she will try her best to rehabilitate them, and release them into the wild, safe and far from the contact of other beans. But if that doesn't work, she will make the choice to either risk it anyway, or keep them in the sanctuary, depending on the numbers she has and how much room. Except for her kangaroos, who all stay.

>> ｃｈｉｌｄ ｙｅａｒｓ
As a child, Kalari is her natural self, doing what young ones do to play, keeping herself entertained. Used to the first few years of her life being only her, she soon had to get used to having a little brother around, who she would always try to keep any loose fur away from, and a few years after that, a little sister, Aisling. Who she of course loves dearly, and had a bit of experience of how to treat a younger sibling, unlike when she first had to deal with Nuka. She is her playful, strange self - loving her fathers, cuddling them, being such an innocent child. She would develop and get more into her strange habits at this age, freaking some other small beans out and sending them crying. She would be unaware of what she was doing, and in her time as a child, she would only make few friends - such as Meekael, because they didn't care how she was. But she grew up in a maybe-too-sheltered home, being protected a tad too much by Brax, but that didn't calm her down any time soon.

When she finally becomes a teenager, Kalari does calm down a bit, become more relaxed in her bigger body, but she still does hold that childish self. She keeps up with the strange quirks she has, although none of them are as frequent as before (except for correcting people, that will stay), only when she is really bored or she is around someone she doesn't like - mainly Yoichi. She is less protective of her siblings, but seems to love them more to make up for it - though both of them can ruffle her fur a fair bit. She will take more responsibility for herself, but of course, she wouldn't drop her habits with her young age. By now she has nursed her pet go full health, and has tried to release him into the wild - but Dingo keeps following her, so she just accepts it. She would be doing fairly good in school, getting the best marks she can manage, and also tries to help around the house with her fathers. But more often then not she tries her best to avoid going to anymore of Braxton's concerts.

>> ａｄｕｌｔ ｙｅａｒｓ
By the ti,e she has become an adult, Kalari would have gotten onto her feet, getting enough money to move onto her own path, into the countryside and buying her own little shack. With money saved from over the years, she has decided to start her own sanctuary, bringing along her little dingo cross, Dingo, who would be rare old now. She would decide to save any creatures she can, big and small, although her main focus would be orphaned kangaroos, since so many mother kangaroos are hit on the roads. She would nurse them before letting them out into the large space she has fenced off, keeping them safe from predators, but also being able to watch them, and letting them gain their own natural instinct. Of course, she does save any other wild or stray animals who need help, and often release them back into the wild unless they were young. She would live there and live her life, happy and content with what she has chosen to do for the rest of her life, hopefully. She would still ring her family and friends up from time to time, and keep in contact.

Well, there are plenty of reasons of why I decided to try, but to be honest, the majority of those aren't that important, but there are a few. I know my form isn't the best, and I don't have as much art or content as the others, and I know it's not as pretty as the other forms, but I tried purely because the character I always saw her as was strange. Combining that with the fact her original character was Australian as well, I believe I had a strong connection to her. And I tries to develop what I want to be into this character - for her to act how I once was off the internet, for her to keep that more childish side. And as her contest ran through some rough times I've had to go through recently, I thunk making this form, her character, made me forget that, and cheered me up. If course I know there are better forms then mine, but I do hope at least some if my effort for her shows through this form.

kalari shuffled the contents of her bag around until her fingers enclosed around familiar shape of her lunch box. it was a small container, but it had her favorite treat inside it - vegemite spread on bread. she opened the box and took out her lunch. here she was, sitting at a park bench with her skateboard propped on the seat with her goanna plush, nago, on her lap. it was a nice day, she could do whatever she wanted, and it felt nice to be without braxton's overprotective arms in her face. he was too busy working on his music to watch her, and while he'd left her in mohatu's care, kal knew her other father wouldn't mind her being outside the house. as such, here she was, eating her snacks while waiting to see some of her friends.

quad appearance;
kalari has a lot of extra fur. she's practically a frizzy teddy bear. she has a mane like mohatu's, but with braxton's texture and a mixture of their colors. it's probably her most noticeable physical trait. the mane climbs up her back and her neck, part of it falling between her ears, until it meets with her hair. same texture and color. her hair contrasts with her ear color, a bright sandy shade, with a small ear opening and a lot of ear fluff. the fur on her belly and torso is shorter and closely cropped like a regular bean's, with the exception of her shoulder to elbow fur, which sticks out like her cheek fur. she has gray-black claws that are never clean, and a striped tail closely resembling a snake. her tail fur has dreads in it, too. she is rather tall, a little above average, with a stronger, leaner build than most beans. she usually has scratches and small cuts beneath her fur, although they're never really prominent. her snout is of average length, her hair sometimes getting in her face and yellow eyes. aforementioned eyes also have sparkles in them, that seem to move around sometimes according to the lighting. she has slightly longer eyelashes than most beans, but they droop over, so that closing her eyes brings her upper eyelashes and lower ones together. her teeth are slightly messy, she has a hole where one of her right teeth should have been and a chipped upper right tooth from an accident. it doesn't really matter much to her. some of her physical traits are harder to notice, such as how one of her fingers on her left hand is bent out of shape although she tries to hide it, and how her back left ankle once got dislocated, meaning it was more prone to getting dislocated again if it ever came to that.

anthro appearance;
kalari's anthropomorphic form is similar to her quad one with some 'human' elements thrown into the mix. she usually wears loose clothing, unless it's hot outside, and usually retains her neck fur with her flip-flops on a lot of the time. when drawn in anthro, she will still keep some of her physical traits - for instance, her bent finger, her ankle, her chipped tooth and so on. she doesn't wear her hat too often, only when she's outside and in a situation where she won't lose it - mostly when she isn't on her skateboard, that is to say. even so, she'll make sure to keep it close to her at all times - it's just too important for her to abandon. she would definitely panic if she lost it, and it's not a nice thing to see. an expression with her eyes wide in fear just... doesn't fit. because of this, her hat is usually tucked into her backpack, safe and sound with nago, or just in her left hand. depending on art style, she could still have her claws in anthro form, or they could be nails - either painted black or in regular colors, or the claws could simply be nonexistent. her tail would most likely be longer and slimmer, and she would typically use it for skateboarding balance in anthro form. 

human appearance;
humanized, kalari wears hoodies and jackets often, or occasionally tank tops. she has a darker complexion and a smile that has dimples. she can be drawn with or without freckles scattered across her face. kalari can sometimes still retain her ears and even her tail, but her mane is nonexistent. her hair reaches the back of her neck, her nails are of regular color instead of the same color as her claws, and for the most part, she still has most of her basic features. her height, her weight, and her body type all match her quad one in comparison to the average human being. most of her more detailed attributes depend on an art style or preference, but for the most part, her human form should be clear enough after reading this description.

how i will draw her;
my art style doesn't vary too much, admittedly, although i do try to draw in quad, anthro and human styles whenever i have the muse to. for the most part, i draw in quad, and have started to experiment with different viewpoints and poses when drawing. if i do win kalari, she would be quite prominent in my exercise sketches along with the rest of my jbds, although i don't upload these sketches often. i have started a bit of a project/challenge to revamp or redraw all of my jbd art pieces i have made, and while all of kalari's art done by me is relatively new, she would still be part of my challenge. not to mention i'm also working on a group drawing of my jbds. when it comes to kalari as her own character, she'd be drawn pretty often since i love her appearance and she wouldn't be too much of a hassle to draw. her tail markings gave me trouble the first time i drew her, but i have to admit she's actually pretty simple to color in when you get used to her design.

history;
kalari was born on the fifteenth of july, ten years ago, and was named the first child to mohatu and braxton. she was born biologically female, and was named kalari darwin ulrich by her parents - of course, she barely remembers any of this today, but back then things were both vivid and disconnected - like she was living her earliest days through a looking glass. she was but a tiny newborn bean, her eyes had only recently opened and she was still trying to get used to the light entering her eyes. her parents were proud, nervous and excited to raise their first child, who would have to stay in their pouches for a while longer, unfortunately. like all jellybean dragons, her markings began to appear when she was a week old - bearing resemblance to both her fathers, they were overjoyed to see her growing up. as she began to walk and talk, it was braxton who would spend more time with her, letting her observe the house for a start. she was a little wobbly in her first steps, of course, and even fell face-first on the carpet once when she tried to step on it. she didn't cry, though, and that was something she found impressive to this day. while her steps were accompanied by a shiver each time, she was a curious bean from the start, and ignoring her likeliness to fall, she began to poke at everything in the house from braxton's speakers to the kitchen sink. she would try to get into higher places, attempt to get on the counter, but braxton was always there for her... bubble wrap was a must at this stage. 

her baby years went by pretty quickly - three years passed her like a cold morning breeze. in that time span she went from a helpless, fidgety child to a more independent, bold and brave daredevil. at first her little antics were harmless, like jumping from one couch to another [ the floor is lava, a classic ] and trying to pick a single hair out of mohatu's mane without him noticing. sometimes they would get a little extreme, like jumping down the stairs two at a time until braxton caught her, or playing with some spare wires. good thing these wires weren't connected to anything, because no one wanted kalari to electrocute herself. still, this was also when she discovered batteries and got her habit of licking them after playing dare with her childhood friends. good thing she wasn't big enough to swallow them, because if she did, her quirk wouldn't be licking batteries but rather eating them altogether. brax worried for her at this point, but mohatu, being more lenient, simply stated that he would 'let her do her own thing.' and so she did, through her baby and later child years.

at this point, kalari was getting more freedom, although bubble wrap was still a common sight. at age four she began to doodle with crayons, and that was when she made up her imaginary friend, the tall goanna named nago. he accompanied her at all times, always being there for her when she needed someone to talk to. he was a great friend, he never complained about kalari's weird habits and battery stash, for one. some time later, although kalari never remembered in detail, her younger brother nuka came to the world, and she would try to play with him. however, brax and mohatu never let her. it was rare that both her parents agreed on restricting her from something, and she was frankly a bit shattered by this, but she went by what they said, and only watched the younger bean from far away, not spending much time with him. at age six, kalari was riding a bicycle when she fell and injured her finger, permanently bending it out of shape. despite this, it was no longer apparent of a wound. despite the accident never really shaking her, she decided to forget cycling, and rarely went on her bike anymore. nago didn't have an opinion on this, thank goodness. sadly, it was because he had begun to spend less time with her. it hurt in many ways. some time after, in the same year, kalari and braxton were outside, going to look for toys for nuka while mohatu stayed at home with him. this was when kalari discovered a goanna plush she took home, naming him nago and treating the plush like a 'vessel' for her imaginary friend. now she could finally hug him! after this she had grown much closer to him once more.

in the following years, many notable things happened. for one, kalari got her skateboard for her birthday, and while it first led to accidents like chipping her tooth, kalari began to master it. around the same time, her younger sister aisling was born. kalari does spend some time with her siblings now, although she doesn't really stick close to them, preferring to be outside in the sunshine to play with her skateboard. she developed her taste for vegemite, although she's known it for many years she's only just discovered how much she loved it. she has it for snacks almost every day, ever since she told braxton to have vegemite be on the grocery list at all times. as she got closer and closer to the age of ten, she began to visit the library often, and began to discover her love of physics. she met other beans, namely bra'dach, too. began to grow fond of him, and meeting his friend ceraia as well. she ended up feeling fond of dach despite never getting any fondness back. she also discovered the cliffside store belonging to an adult bean named bacardi - who ended up becoming one of her unlikely friends. she ended up getting used to visiting the older bean and helping her out in managing her small store. from then on she had grown to become who she is now; this was the story of kalari, and it would continue to develop and grow alongside her from this point on.

Mockingbird is a gentleman. He is affectionate and caring. For being a stallion, he is very well behaved and gentle.
