Equus Guardians are a winged, horse/ deer species. They are usually quite shy creatures, however as their name tells they are the guardians of a mystical world called The Golden Valley. Life in The Golden Valley is predominately peaceful , due to the constant careful monitoring of the land and surrounding area, but despite this, occasionally evil souls sneak in. The Equus Guardians are needed to be strong and brave, scaring off the unwanted visitors by any means which doesn't involve violence. They do not believe in violence, the antlers only present for show, however their methods of protecting the land have shown very effective, and to this day, The Golden Valley remains pure, flourishing and unspoilt.
There coats are always natural and they may have any type of deer or horse coloured pelt, or a mixture of both. Despite this they are usually found in shades of brown/chestnut/red-brown, to blend into their environment. Pure white coats are rare, with white coats and blue eyes even more so. Sometimes Equus Guardians may have a slight, unnatural sheen to they coat i.e. Gold - found on brownish coats, silver, blue (silver and blue only found on grey, white or black coats).
Equus Guardians form small family groups, smaller than that of a horse herd, mating for life. Due to this a mother Equus may only have around three offspring in her lifetime, however as there is rarely any threats facing the young, most will survive and live to a ripe old age of 125 years or so. They are very wise creatures, the parents passing on their knowledge to their young, allowing them to thrive and take up their mother and fathers duties when they grow too old or pass away.
