Rules (READ THESE):
1. You are limited to 36 pokemon (6 for team, 30 in box).
2. One Adoption per release from daycare.
3. You are allowed to abandon pokemon.
4. No flaming, arguing or whining. If there's a problem, message a staff member.
5. Be respectful towards all decisions made.
6. Money is earned through defeating opponents in battle.
7. Pokemon are automatically healed when a battle is complete.
8. If you don't post anything for a month you'll be removed. (Unless you have warned the owner of your absence ahead of time)
9. Please try to keep the posts neat. One or two quotes is enough.
10. A battle without response for a week will be considered as abandoned.
11. If no one has replied to your post, please don't repost. Message a staff member instead

The Farm is a private breeding facility where you can leave your pokemon in hope of getting some eggs.
It will take about 2-5 days before the eggs are available, and you can then choose one of them to adopt.
Afterwards you can either leave them for another two days or take them back.
All pokemon from The Farm will be level 1.

Be aware; Pokemon in The Farm cannot battle or be used whatsoever.

Form:
• Legendaries can't breed.
• Up to 2 pairs per person can be held at the same time.
• The two pokemon will produce eggs of both species with a 50% chance of either.
• It has to be a male and female to be able to work.
• Genderless pokemon need a Ditto to be able to breed (Unown is an exception).
• The better the pokemon match, the more eggs they will produce.
• You can now breed your pokemon with someone else's, but they of course have to confirm this so you both have to post forms. There is a separate one for this.

I just joined. What do I do?

There are a lot of things that you can do on this thread, but the main purpose is to collect different pokemon and defeat gym leaders. You should check the daycare to see if there are any eggs you can adopt, or adopt an abandoned pokemon in the Pokemon Center. You can also battle NPCs to gain money and level up your team. Participate in the weekly lottery for a chance to win special evolution items and other things or check out the discussion thread and connect with the other people on the thread. You should also check out the goals and unlocks to see what you could do for a chance to get legendaries, or the trading thread to see if you can get your favorite pokemon from another player.

Can I get a shiny?

Yes, it is possible, but it's rare. They may be offered as rewards for events, and you may be lucky enough to adopt one from the daycare!

How do the staff determine the outcomes of attacks?

random.org is used. There is a list of numbers which determine the result of the number rolled. We also check pokemon's weaknesses and resistance.

Is there a way I can help out?

If you are not staff, then you are here to play and that's the best help we can get!
But if you have ideas on improvements, then we'll be glad to know.

How do I obtain a legendary?

The thread will hold events where you can either obtain a legendary, rare pokemon or items not available in the Pokemart. You may also get them from reaching goals.

How do I level up my pokemon?

You have to challenge NPCs first to level up your pokemon. Here's a quote from the staff guide to explain how to level up:


If a user knocks out a pokemon, then all of the pokemon listed under the team will gain a level.
If a user knocks out 2 pokemon, all pokemon will gain 2 levels, and so on.
Leveling up caps at 5 levels per battle.


I want to trade my pokemon, but I don't know what to do.

The first advice I have to give you is to check out the trading thread. That is your opportunity to make offers and converse with other players. This is also great if you have a pokemon that will evolve through trading, and you want it to. I'm sure there are nice people who will trade with you and then trade back. And remember, there are no limits! Make up your own rules with your trading partner. Maybe make a deal that you get to keep the other's pokemon until you level them up? Only a lack of imagination can stop you!

What stats are used when determining damage?

Each Pokemon has health points. As well as each attack has a damage worth in parenthesis next to it. This can be doubled if a critical hit or if the pokemon is weak to the move. Defense, Speed, Special Attack, and Special Defense are not taken into account.

In what other ways are battles different from the games?

One of the changes is that some major status conditions actually can go on at the same time, which they can't in the games. For example, a pokemon may be asleep and poisoned at the same time. However, burn and freeze don't go together as well as sleep and paralysis.

How do I evolve a pokemon that only will by happiness/friendship?

I would suggest feeding it a few berries, that should definitely make them happier! (Psst.. I think about 4 would do it.)

How do I get special items like the King's Rock and Dragon Scale?

The best way to obtain special items is to enter the lottery. Evolution items can be won there almost every week. And don't worry, if someone else wins it I'm sure they are willing to trade it with you. You might also have the opportunity to win those items at an event, so keep your eyes open!

How does the pokemon's compability affect my breeding in The Farm?

No matter which pokemon you choose they will produce at least one egg. But the more the pokemon likes each other, the more eggs they will produce. Factors that determine this are things like body size, type and species. For example, if you put two grass types with each other they will most likely give quite many eggs. However, an Onix with a Sylveon aren't very compatible and will most likely only produce one egg. The best way for the two pokemon to like each other is if they are of the same species. That also ensures that you will get the species you want!
