DARKPAW

Part Three:

I can see Tallpaw just trembling out of her fur behind the reeds. 'Why won't she help me escape?' And it just pains me enough that nobody cares about my bite-sized mews. They're all still asleep. Fantastic. But my luck rises as I hear our medicine cat, Cloverstem, yowling in fury. "Darkstar! Get off of him!" With that yowl, most of the cats from my clan wake up, and start crowding around me and Darkstar. "H-He's the son of Tigerstar! I heard him planning to kill many cats from our clan, and others! He will let the Dark Forest overpower StarClan!"

The clan's eyes settle onto Darkstar. With an outburst of yowling, a breakout of battle begins. I struggle out of his choking grasp, and slide through the paws that are thundering towards Darkstar. I see Tallpaw and smile. Until I see a dark tabby push her over, and unsheathe it's claws. "At least two lives will be lost in this battle... First life... Is yours..." I struggle to get up, but my paws are too weak! I writhe in pain at watching Tallpaw get tortured. I yowl. "TALLPAW! NO!" It's too late... Tigerstar has already slit her throat open and rolled her into some bramble. Sandfern follows me, and helps the dead apprentice out.

"I can't believe she's dead." Sandfern's eyes well up with tears. "She would have made a great warrior." Sandfern makes a yowl of protest to her clan. "Stop the fight! Tallpaw is dead! Stop!" The whole clan stops and comes over to my best friend. She will be my best friend. Always. But as the clan comes over, I hear a choking of blood-spill. And I hear a thump on the ground. Some black smoke has disappeared, but what it left behind... Was Darkstar. Dead.

Cloudlegs has come back from the moonstone. Well, I guess she isn't Cloudlegs anymore. She's Cloudstar! The whole clan has had mourning for Tallpaw, and none for Darkstar. It wasn't a surprise either! But, one more ceremony is to come at paw...
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather under GreatOak for a Clan meeting!" We all gather, wandering what it is.
"I, Cloudstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn.
Darkpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?
"I do." I am overexcited, I can't believe it's me!
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Darkpaw, from this moment you will be known as Darkblaze. StarClan honors your bravery and strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan!"

Looking back on my life, it seems crappy. Mainly because I'm that abomination that people stare and point at. Why me? Why am I a half human, half cat hybrid? Why did I have to be running from the Policy my whole life? Ah, a moment of death that is about to overcome me is just exhilerating. My boyfriend betrays me, my DNA master has been murdered and the Policy have finally found me after 5 years of running... So, as my final thoughts, I guess I have to look back... Way back...

"Hey! Get that friggin' thing out of the tube so we can all go home!" One of the DNA Mistresses shouted. I'm curled up in a test tube. I'm Chiyo, a hybrid of cat and human created by the government of my time called the 'Policy'. I was put on demand because I'm supposed to be put in something called HBT, which stands for 'Hybrid Battle Tournament' so really, I'm just created to be against totally weird things like Frog Flys and Dog Squirrels... That's not what I feel I'm meant to be, though. I feel a cold emptiness as the liquid in my tube drains out and I slowly sink to the freezing metal bottom.

I feel strength as I try to stand. My orange cat tail wavers as I step out onto the tiled labratory floor. All the DNA Masters and Mistresses stare in awe as one of their projects finally come to be. "I want to train this one." I hear one of the Masters whisper. One of the Mistresses shook her head. "I only want it if it has Human Tongue. We'll have to trash it at HCS if it can only meow like an idiot." I've heard of HCS before. One of the Masters were talking about it while I was still a testling. It's the Hybrid Chop Shop, and if we didn't come out as expected, which sucked. Sigh.

I open my mouth and everyone freezes. I smile slightly and say. "Hello!" Everyone takes a huff and cheers. They start cleaning out my test tube and stick me on a table to test my reflexes and such. "Now, we have decided that you'll be put through a year of hardcore training by our own, DNA Master Drake. You will be put through masses of torture if you don't do what Drake says, and if we've had enough of you, with permission of the Policy, you'll either be sent to the Hybrid Battle Tournament or sent to HCS... Either way, a she-female like you will die.

I growl and unsheathe my cat-like claws and dig them into the table. How dare he! Say that a girl can't fight! One of two girl hybrids have been sent to HBT before, and they actually won! I will win! I will!

That would be cool. I'd love that. I'll pay you hmmm. How about 3 uncommons for a not extremely long but a 6-7 part pretty long story. What do you say? There will be no due date but I'd like you to get started now no matter which other people's stories you have to do. Also I'll pay you 2 more just for that if you'd like. C: P.S. I'd love to work with you so I could get the other stories done while you work on mine or only one if that's find with you.
