Run.
That was the only word in Tala's head.
Run. Run.
That was the only word Tala could think.
Her paws swept gracefully across the savannah, trying desperately to get away from whatever destroyed her home. She could sense the stampede inching closer, the earth pounding beneath her paw prints.
Run.
All she knew at the time was that whatever was behind her was bad. She glanced at her brother, only a few feet ahead of her. Her other two sisters had already fallen behind, out her range of sight.
But she couldn't focus on that now. All she had to do was run.
And that's what she did. For a long time, anyways. Until that fatal little tree root caught her paw and there she went, only a small cheetah cub, tumbling down down down until the stampede of buffalo engulfed everything in their path.

Tala woke up in a start, out of breath and gasping from the dream. She struggled to her paws, anxious to get the day started and forget the reoccurring nightmare. Her muscles tensed at the sight of the empty land, not sensing any prey nearby. Glancing at Duma to see if he was awake, Tala deciding that she should get some hunting done with him.

Kite felt her paws scratching the dirt as she woke up and stretched. She had slept peacefully with little interruptions throughout the night. Only a couple cubs saying they were hungry. But as she awoke, she heard one of the others wake up. It was Tala, she saw the cheetah glance over at Duma. Kite let out a small growl as she got up. Her stomach made a louder one as it complained from her not eating enough these past couple days. She shook her head before starting to walk to the nearby creek in order to drink some water.

Duma woke up as he heard some stir out of their sleep, his eyes opened to reveal Tala looking down at him. He stretched and yawned as he let the sleep roll off of him. When the sleepiness was off, he started to get up. His stomach growled in protest. As much as he hated hunting on an empty stomach it needed to be done. "Let me guess, you would like to go hunting?" He said in a near whisper to her since others around him were still sleeping.

Tala grinned a little. "Yes," She replied quietly, motioning to the brush. "Yesterday, I think I saw a pack of antelope not too far from here, only about a mile away."
Yesterday she really couldn't tell if it was a pack of antelope or just a bunch of wild boars, she was too far away to tell and too exhausted to go look. She shuffled her paws and then glanced at Blitz, concerned that they would not find enough food for the entire pack.
"I think it was west from here," She added, not too sure.
