Human
Gender:
Male
Name:
Prince Kirana of Surda
Age:
17
Appearance:
Kira's love of lavish and colorful clothing, along with the fact that he is only 5'6", cause some people to mistake him for someone much younger, or even occasionally for a girl. When traveling or nor among nobility, he wears a much simpler ensemble consisting of modest armor or clothes (as needed) and a purple traveler's cloak or cape clasped with a sun-stone to mark his rank. Has brownish blond hair and bright green eyes.
Personality:
Kirana, or Kira, lives up to the meaning of his name 'little sunbeam' in providing warmth and compassion wherever he goes. Like his father, King Orrin of the House of Langstead, Kira is very intelligent with a love of science, mathematics, alchemy, and almost any other discipline, however, unlike Orrin who was more preoccupied in his experiments than in the plight of his own Kingdom Kira possesses a true heart for the suffering, even if this trait sometimes gets him into trouble. Kira prefers to spend more time with the poorest of his people than with his own court or peers and thus is seen as a Prince who is too soft-heated and feeble hearted to be a serious ruler. Indeed, Kira is not happy about taking Orrin's place as ruler, but he is a person of great inner strength.
History:
It was late on a summer's evening when King Orrin, wounded and terribly drunk, returned from his mysterious mission, whose location neither he or his guards mentioned (though, based on the state of his horses and supplies it was assumed he had either crossed or spent time in the Hadarac desert.) though he had traveled there often before. Guards rushed to the king's aide, astonished by the strange nature of his injuries, however he pushed them aside instead bringing their attention to a young woman with long blonde hair and elegant features being unconscious and gravely ill carried in one of the wagons. Though King Orrin refused to mention the name of the girl, the healers soon realized the women was with child and took her to the Orrin's own quarters at the King's insistence.
That night, the young woman gave birth to three children, first a boy, then two girls. Though the children were small, and apparently weak, healer's worked tirelessly on them, and they survived. The mother, however, was not so fortunate and in fact she only came too long enough to whisper a few words into Orrin's ear and name the first two of the children, the boy whom which she called Kirana, and the older girl whom she called Kalisan, before breathing her last. The last child, frailest of them all named 'Naudilay' by Orrin before he passed out from his own injuries, a name that was assumed to be given after the mysterious young woman, whose name Orrin never actually confirmed and whose body he had quickly buried after her death.
Though many were reluctant to consider the children part of the royal bloodline, Orrin argued voraciously that they were his own and thus heir's to his throne. Growing up, the three received education worthy of Surdan royalty, and were cherished by their father whom, while often drunk and a slave to his own demons, loved them dearly and treated them well. Though Orrin found great joy in the company of his girls, as the children grew older he spent more and more time with Kira, grooming the child to take over his own position. Though deeply wanting to earn his father's affection, Kira resents the idea of becoming any sort of leader or politician. Indeed, he doesn't even see why his father, who in fact did not really ever want to be a king either, is so set on the matter.
Bearing in part from his alcoholism, Orrin has fallen into a state of melancholic madness in the last couple of years and though Surda is currently ruled by an able consul of advisers, the time for Kira to take the thrown is growing nearer. He has taken his sister, Kalisan, with him to see a new found hoard of dragon's eggs, partially because it is his duty as a representative of Surda and partly because he is hoping an egg will hatch for him, freeing him from his destiny.
Kira has studied magic, and though he has a difficult time actually using it he can summon small amounts of fire, is able to communicate telepathically, and is a bit of an empathetic (he senses other's emotions) though it is not known whether this is magical or just his personality.

Weapon Choice:
Kira carries an ornate, but battle-worthy, sword that he has inherited from his father. Though he is proficient with and appreciates the weapon, Kira sometimes feels that the sword is just another symbol of the role he will be expected to be take. He also carries a small, elegant dagger adorned with a sun-stone on the hilt and 'heart' in elven tongue engraved on the blade.
Other:
Kira's mount is a member of the rare species Tiequs, found only deep in the jungle's of Surda's south eastern edge. This creature, seemingly both leonine and equine, is a solitary, omnivorous creature with a superior intellect. Though not as fast as an elven horse, they are very strong, capable or carrying a large and fully armored knight with provisions, or even two smaller riders (as in the case of Kira and Kali). These creatures are fierce war mounts, and can be deadly if met in the wild, however they also make loyal companions.

Gender:
Female
Name:
Kalisan
Age:
17
Appearance:

Kali is of lithe build and just taller than Kira. Her eyes are green, and her hair is a deep strawberry blond.
Personality:
Adventurous, cunning, restless and brash, Kali has never been one to sit still while life happens around her. Though not truly mean spirited, Kalli tends to tease and mess with people, especially her older brother. From a young age, Kali has made it known that sitting around being some royal beauty, delicate, protected and displayed, disgusts her. Kali is fiercely competitive and driven, however, though she would never admit it, she is also relatively sheltered and naive, often trusting people before they should have earned it. She has a need to gain other's approval and respect, much stronger than her brother's, and tends to go into situations quickly without much thought.
Like Kira, Kali has been schooled in the magical arts, though she is not nearly as disciplined as he is. She enjoys spending time in the forest and 'listening' to the plants, animals and insects around her. The forest is the one place where Kali is truly able to slow down, and she often goes there when something is bothering her.
History:
Growing up in Surda's capital, Kali was given just enough of a glimpse of the world to want to explore while still remaining safe within her father's court. Intoxicated on Orrin's tales of adventure, elves, battles and dragons, Kali soon decided that her future life as a princess, along with her suitors and even her home, were boring a dull. Though she does love Surda, and her father, she dreams of making a name for herself as a revered warrior.

Weapon Choice:
Though Kali can handle a sword relatively well, her real skill rests with arrows and she is rarely without her bow and quiver. Like Kira, she also carries a dagger, her's is engraved with the elven word for 'body' or 'being'. Something which confuses her.
Other:
Since I haven't mentioned her at all, I figure I should say a word about Nautilay, the third triplet. First off, I don't plan on playing her unless the RP calls for it because unlike Kira and Kali she is not 'healthy' or 'well'. A gifted sorceress, Nautilay is reserved and shy, preferring the quiet of her library to the outside world. She is very kind, but also very fearful and uneedingly nervous, with a strange, volotile magic that seems to be affected by her mental state. Nautilay occasionally see's the future reflected in mirrors and pools of water, therefore she generally avoids them.
