turn off comments

It’s super frustrating when you put in your trade forum or art display forum “please don’t post”
yet people insist on bumping :c

sometimes I just wanna keep it clean

so a function (that could be over ridden by staff for whatever situation)
that allows us to turn off comments on our own forums ;-;

idk if this is physically possible but would be soooo helpful imo

If you want a post removed, you can report it and a Global Moderator will delete the post whenever they are available. We cannot allow regular users to have a feature like that, sorry.

@Seasonal, I don't think they're saying allow the owner to remove people's posts, it would be a feature that would disable comments on a thread except for yourself. Mods could still post, it would just disable regular users from posting.

I think this would be awesome! I'd rather not have people post/bump my trade thread since like you said, I like to keep it clean c:
Plus I think it would free up mods to deal with actual reports rather than just people wanting 'bumps' or the like taken off their thread.

Yeah! I definitely support this. Not deleting posted comments, but being able to choose if I want comments on my specific topic.

I feel this would be helpful for auction/adoption topics as well.

Like if an adoption center is closed, they can "turn off" comments so they don't keep getting bumped and get bombarded with trades for pets they aren't giving out. I feel this could be very helpful, and as they said above, could help keep the moderators busy with comments that actual need attention vs filling reports with spam.

I understand I can report it to mods but I feel the situation can be avoided by giving us the choice to turn off comments before it happens :3
