The One & Only Vapor wrote:howdy yall! so i got a big question

i have a 2 year old corn snake, he's lived in a 10gal his whole life but he's outgrowing it now and ive just purchased a 40gal tank for him. however i bought it secondhand and its kind of diety and stinky lmao. it looks to be in good condition besides that but im so so worried about it having bacteria that might harm my snake. how do i fix it? how do i clean the tank properly?

i have cage cleaner, i was thinking about rinsing it out with water first, then using antibacterial soap and water, then rinsing it again, the using my cage cleaner, then rinsing it a final time. is that thorough enough? should i use a bleach solution or chlorhexidine or something?

i just am super super worried and i dont want him to get sick :(

any tips on how to move a smake between tanks, as well?? i just have so much anxiety about doing something wrong

the only way to remove all bad things of concerns that could possibly affect your snake if there were reptiles in it previously would be to wash it out however you wish so that the surface is clean and then use f10 veterinary disinfectant or chlorhexidine. These are the only substances that will completely sterilize the surface for a new animal

Hi guys! Heres a few pictures of my corn Squirt, which I posted about before I really even bought him. He's just turned 6 months old and he's shedding and eating perfectly fine. Thank you all for your help!

Hello! I'm sorry I didn't see this thread before, I was just over in the reptile thread. Does anyone know of a hognose breeder or herp breeder with hognoses on the east coast of New England or that would be willing to ship? I've been looking for one for awhile now.

I work taking care of the reptiles at my university. We have a hognose and I completely fell in love with him. I also take care of black rat snakes, a corn snake, a garter snake, a king snake, a rough green snake, italian wall lizards, musk turtles, a spotted turtle, and diamondback terrapins.

This is String Bean:
