Suggestion: Remove "Delete this pet" option. POLL ADDED

I want this feature removed. It may be a 'right' to some, but we've had several 'rights' IRL which were immoral and eventually removed due to how they caused more harm than good. There's a point where one must stop defending something because "it's a right everyone has" and must start questioning why that is the only line of defense that they can give for it.

It is a privilege, yes.

Think of it this way. You have a basket full of perfectly good stuffed animals. Would you throw them in the trash for no reason at all or give them away to a kid that would enjoy dressing them up and looking at them.

Just give them away. It is the right thing to do.

Say most or all true date pets wind up deleted.
Then what? There are only so many on the site.

Re-releases exist, but many users find true dates valuable. They have as much risk of being permanately erased as the re-releases.

If the option is removed now, then many pets can stick around.

And you don't have to go through any hassle to get rid of pets. Send them to the pound or directly to other users. Not all users are greedy. And it takes just as much effort to do that than it would to individually delete each pet..

But the thing is, though I’m new, what I’ve gathered is its by chance? One cannot help the fact the website is growing, which is a fantastic thing! Trying to make pets rarer takes away from so many people who want to have fun, after all its just a game. It’s supposed to be fun, easy to collect most pets. If you want a challenge, hoard something or go after lists. Got all the lists? Great! Try your luck at finding those pesky rare items no one talks about. Got everything? Hoard something and get on the CS leaderboards. Bored with that? Be a part of the oekaki or role play community. Not your style? Hoard mass amounts of all pets and give them away in an orderly fashion. There’s so much to do, I don’t see the point in deleting pets to make them rarer.

Its funny how half seem to state that Artificial Rarity works and half state it doesn't.

Both are used as arguments for getting it removed

And some just ignore the fact that it takes colossal effort to even make OMGSC pets go anywhere. The amount of effort to get something with actually demand would be even harder

I have all of them on my wl and they're more common then you think, most serious traders just don't have them since they are worth so little
And I imagine A LOT of them are stuck in the pound.

I actually think the current Artificial Rarity thread just picked badly, since 2 or 3 OMGSCs have turned VC recently. Just not the one we were working on xD

a little off topic, but you don't see a lot of pets that are omgsc because there aren't a lot of pets with that rarity tag. without checking, I'm pretty sure there are more pets that are omgsr than there are pets that are omgsc. so the pets are extremely common, but the rarity tag itself isn't.

There are 20 different OMGSCS
Most of them are rats and equines
Ranging from 2011 to 2016
Oddly enough there weren't any this year I think?
