I just got two sweet pygmy goats! one is a grey agouti named Chips Ahoy , and the other is a cream named Ollie. They're still wary of us, but Chips is willing to let me pet him. Both are Weathers who are registered for shows, so I'm getting ready for my first show in a couple of months.

YES, I FINALLY FOUND A GOAT THREAD.

So, my mom brought home a goat and I know nothing about goats. I need some help. Is she overweight? Again, never owned a goat in my life, I have no clue what they're supposed to look like. Google images I feel isn't being very helpful.



She's a little pygmy goat and she was born in March so she's about 6 months old.

If she is overweight, what diet do you put a goat on?

What do you use as training treats? She's not showing interest in anything. I haven't started training her yet, but I've been trying to figure out what motivates her. I'm still building trust with her right now, she only just started letting me pet her neck.

I have 4. They are mix breeds and they are the dumbest goats I ever have seen. And I have had 20 different goats throughout my life

Your goat does not look overweight to me. ^_^
She's cute! Goats love hard pieces of corn!

If you have access to dry ears of corn, they will eat all the corn off of it! Or you can pluck them out and use them for treats.
I had my goat in training to pull carts, and jump through hoops using corn. (:

)-(owdy. I own two goats right now and we have my sisters two goats. But over the years a lot more with babies and on and on. Welp I'm just joining this thread becuased I love to chat about goats!!! I bought a Nubian doe when she was very young bottle fed her raised her. I tought her to lay down, come and stay, shake, rear, and she was awesome as a show goat! she won almost all of her, mine classes in the 4-H shows. Well she gave some babies too I kept one, rosi is her name and I'm glad I did because about a year ago my beloved Bambi died. I will forever hate worms!!! XD sinse then we have been dealing with all kinds of worms. Its an aweful battle! Its like wow worms are stronger than us humans XD although its very odd that my Nubians seem to get the worms way easier than my sisters Nubian cross pigmy's. Anyone know why?
