Mind cleared, Icepaw’s gaze drifted back to Finchpaw. ”I’m... okay now.” She gazed directly in his eyes and meowed, ”I’m sorry for snapping at you. It’s just that... I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget how you voted for Stormclaw. But I forgive you,” she mewed, licking his face in affection.

His ears pricked as he awkwardly shuffled his paws, quickly wiping his mouth.”Sorry if I came in.....a bit too fast...”

xxxdewpaw stared at icepaw and finchpaw from the apprentice's den, her ears flattened against her head in confusion and irritation. how could two so young be so casual about everything, especially about a love life when murders had been occurring every second day?

xxxshe pitied applestar, to be perfectly honest. with the rate that cats of higher authority were disappearing, particularly the previous deputies and the later leaders sent shivers down her spine, her eyes narrowing in thought. how come neither of the medicine cats or any of the senior warriors had been targeted yet? nursery chatter had been that there had been unfamiliar scents not always from thunderclan around the bodies, something she had very vaguely noted when she had come close to lionstar's body after his death. it puzzled her.

xxxthe narrow featured apprentice suddenly rose to her paws, shaking off her blue-grey fur and stepping out of the den for the first time that morning, padding silently past the other cats in the clearing and sat by the entrance to the camp, staring blankly out into the surrounding forest.

Applestar hopped onto high-rock, and looked around. She was exhausted, and didn’t have much strength left un her. She callee the clan meeting and waited till everyone had gathered. “Let the voting begin.” She said calmly. The votes were tallied up, and they were, for the most part, all for Whiteshade. Applestar’s heart dropped. Whiteshade was her best friend, the one who had comforted her when Lionstar died. “Whiteshade, you are exiled from Thunderclan. “Applestar said quietly. “But, if she goes, I go.”
Applestar jumped off the rock amd stood next to Whiteshade. “Mama! Please don’t leave me!” Finchpaw cried out. “Oh, honey. I would take you woth me, but I know you couldn’t leave Icepaw.” Applestar smiled. Finchpaw glanced back at the white she-cat and nodded. “Goodbye, mama.” She licked his head, and then she was gone.

Several moons later
Moonshine eyes flashed open. She couldn’t sleep. The light from the moon shone into the den, making Moonshine want to go out and explore in her namesake. She gently stood up and exited the den carefully. She made her way out of the camp and took in a deep breath. Freedom. A cat quietly followed her and soon after they exited camp they were escorted by the two rouges. They quietly tracked Moonshine and came upon her, staring at the moon.
They flicked their tail at her and the two rouges tackled her to the ground. “You wanna kill her this time, boss?” The rouge asked. “No. I’d rather not have that on my paws.” They quickly cut her neck and left. The murderer quietly padded back into camp, unnoticed.

Daisypaw blinked away, still not used to being an apprentice. Yawning, the young she-cat got uo, hearing quiet. "Weird," she murmured, getting to her paws. "I guess I can go back to sleep until Cutstripe calls me," she murmured, head resting on her paws to try and fall back aslsep.
