Malakite was born to
two loving parents.
His mother was a
geologist and his father,
an astronomer.
They had spent months
trying to figure out a name
for the young kit,
eventually choosing a name
for both his beautiful faded
blue pelt and for
the constellations that
adorned it.
They were terribly in love
with the youngen, but alas,
they were involved in a car
accident that sent young
Malakite to the orphanage.

It would take until he was
five years old before he
was finally adopted by
an elderly women.
She had recently lost her
own son to a similar fate.
Malakite had been born
with a rare heart disease,
which is probably
why it took so long for
someone to adopt him.

She raised him well, spending
time baking with him
and reading
each and every day.
Malakite adored every new
cookie, cake and
new book <3

Starting out with highschool,
Malakite had already begun
to question his sexuality,
which would not have been
such a problem if he had not
been picked on so much...

His crush...

Malakite had fallen for
the baddest boy of the lot.
He tried so hard to fight
his feelings, but
eventually caved,
starting to love the
time he spent
with this macho man
and wanting nothing
more than to be with him.

One day, Malakite baked a
chocolate cake for his crush,
having finally explained to
his adoptive grandmother
about the whole situation
and the truth about why he
kept coming home with
new cuts and bruises
despite being so terribly fragile -
and she helped him bake
the most delicious cake she
could find a recipe for.

When Malakite had arrived at
school, he had reassured himself
that the best
time to give his crush this cake
would be after school,
so long as he could get it
through the day without caving
in and offering his friend a piece
after being pestered for one for
hours...

It was the last period and Malakite
had not seen his crush all day.
Finally beginning to give up,
he made his way down the
hall with a confession note
in hand to his crush's locker,
when his crush's best friend

tripped him up just before he
could manage to reach it.

It was like in slow motion;
first he watched as the cake
he had spent hours making crash to
the floor, then the note get
covered in icing as the
tupperware shattered and finally
the pain in his knees
with the swelling humiliation
taking over him.

He just laid there.
Covered in sadness and icing.
He could feel his heart breaking...
He closed his eyes and let out
a deep sigh as he began to help
himself up.
"This was a bad idea. how stupid
could you be.", his
internal voice rang deep
within him.
He had never felt so low.

Just then, it felt like another
slow motion moment;
first his crush looked down at
Malakite, frowned,
looked up at his laughing friend
and the group that had formed
around poor
Malakite, killing themselves
laughing. Everything seemed
to pause.

Everything.

That's when he saw his crush
lift his arm in a fist and break
his (ex) best friend's nose
before lifting Malakite up off
of the floor and taking him home.
