- Be kind and show good sportsmanship in the competitions
- Do not claim Kobaloi that are not yours
- You may not sell any Kobaloi for any form of currency (This will result in a permanent ban from the species and having all your Kobaloi up for re-adoption)
- Please see rehoming rules for the proper way to rehome a Kobalos you no longer want
- You are allowed to make MINOR design edits to your Kobaloi, apparel items do not count as minor (apparel items can be earned through events, be already placed on your Kobaloi from adoptions, or bought)

Rehoming Rules

Genetic Infmormation

Postby That1Idiot » Mon Oct 02, 2017 2:42 am

The Genetic code is as follows:

Body Coloration I Marking1 I Marking2 I Tail I Passable deformities

Example:

bb I srsr I N/A I T1 l N/A (light colored body with light stripes, a standard tail and no passable deformities)

Starting Body Colorations:

Light Body
bb
A lightly colored Kobalos is more likely to attract attention then a darkly colored Kobalos.
Whether this is good or bad is up to debate.
Is dominant over dappled, fade coloration, albino, and melanistic.
Visual

Dark Body
BB
A dark body color helps a Kobalos to remain unseen. Most of the Kobaloi responsible for the Salem Witch trials, and several wars had dark coloration.
Is dominant over dappled, light body, fade coloration, albino, and melanistic.
Visual

Dappled
Bb
Result of breeding a light colored Kobalos and a dark colored one. This gene has a 20% chance to appear through breeding.
Dappled Kobalori are relatively common, they have predominantly dark body coloring with splatterings of fur that are lighter (same base color, lighter hue).
Is dominant over fade Coloration, albino, and melanistic.
Visual

Only Attainable through Breeding Body Colorations

Fade Coloration
ff/FF/Ff
Only available through breeding and mutation (Mutation chance of 20%)
Kobaloi that express a fade coloration generally have a darker color around their head and feet that gradually fades and blends into another color.
Is dominant over albino, and melanistic
Visual

Albino
aa
Only attainable through breeding and mutation (Mutation chance of 1%)
A completely white Kobaloi with red or pink eyes and nose and no markings, very rare indeed. This can be attributed to their inability to hide as well as other Kobaloi, this coloration has been hunted to the edge of extinction.
Visual

Melanistic
AA/Aa
Only attainable through breeding and mutation (Mutation chance of 1%)
A completely black Kobaloi with glowing yellow eyes and no markings, rare. This can be attributed to their glowing eyes that make being believe that they are unnatural and must be destroyed. This coloration has been hunted to the edge of extinction.
Dominant over Albino coloration.
Visual

Base Markings

Dark Stripes
SRSR
Dominant over light stripes, inverted stripes, all spot genes, and collar genes.
Visual

Light Stripes
srsr
Dominant over inverted stripes, all spot genes, and collar genes
Visual

Spots
SPSP/SPsp
Dominant over inverted stripes, underbellies, and inverted spots
Visual

Inverted Spots
spsp
Dark colored spots with bits of light colored fur in the middle
Dominant over underbellies
Visual

Light Underbelly
UUUU
Dominant over dark underbelly, collar genes, and stripe genes
Visual

Dark Underbelly
uuuu
Dominant over stripe genes, ridged underbelly, and collar genes
Visual

Light Collar
cccc
Light colored round "collars" of fur found around the nose, ears, neck, and tail
Dominant over spot genes, dark collar, and inverted collar
Visual

Dark Collar
CCCC
Darkly colored round "collars" of fur found around the nose, ears, neck, and tail
Dominant over spot genes and inverted collar
Visual

Markings Only Attable Through Breeding

Inverted Collar
CCcc
A darkly colored "collar" of fur with a smaller "collar" of lighter fur in the middle
Only attainable through breeding
Dominant over spot genes
Visual

Ridged Underbelly
UUuu
A lightly colored underbelly with a ridge of darker colored fur around the edges
Only attainable through breeding
Dominant over stripe and collar genes
Visual

Tails

Tail 1
T1/T1.2/T1.3
Standard Tail
Dominant over all other tails

Tail 2
T2/T2.3
Common Tail
Dominant over T3

Tail 3
T3
Uncommon Tail
Dominant over no Tails

No Tail
N/A

Eye Rarities

Brown eyes, grey eyes, green eyes, and amber eyes are common and will pass to at least 1 pup
Totally black eyes, neon red and yellow, and dichromia eyes are rare and have a 25% chance to pass
All other colors not listed here (and heterochromia) are uncommon and have a 50% chance to pass

Inbreeding

Postby That1Idiot » Mon Oct 02, 2017 2:46 am

Kobaloi may inbreed, but this may result in deformities and handicaps.
Note: a Kobalos may have a handicap that is not passable to its children.

Deformities/Handicaps
Only appears through inbreeding
A Kobalos may exhibit multiple Deformities/Handicaps (refer to Staff Resources, Breeding for more information)

Crippled Limb
DC1/DC2/DC3/DC4 (Based off of leg, Ex: Front legs 1-2, back legs 3-4)

Twisted Paw
DT1/DT2/DT3/DT4 (Based off of paw, Ex: Front paws 1-2, back paws 3-4)

Multiple Limbs
DM - {Insert what limb it is}
Ex: DM - L + T is a Koablos with more than 2 legs and 1 tail

Blindess
DB1/DB2/DB3 (Based off of eyes, Ex: Right = 1, Left =2, Both =3)

Deafness
DD1/DD2/DD3 (Based off of ears, Ex: Right = 1, Left =2, Both =3)

More on Customs

Postby That1Idiot » Mon Oct 02, 2017 2:52 am

In the future, there will be a way to buy customs and MYOs, this is a work in progress as of right now, so I have come up with other ways to earn customs.

Customs can be earned through events, and by receiving honorable mentions be staff.

One may earn honorable mentions by being involved in the species, helping new members, giving suggestions to staff, etc.
Staff may also earn honorable mentions.

The "Pricing" of the customs are as follows:

15 HMs and the artist's commission fee for 1 standard Custom Kobalos, or 1 free standard MYO Kobalos

30 HMs and the artist's commission fee for 1 common Custom Kobalos, or 1 free common MYO Kobalos

45 HMs and the artist's commission fee for 1 uncommon Custom Kobalos, or 1 free uncommon MYO Kobalos

60 HMs and the artist's commission fee for 1 rare Custom Kobalos, or 1 free rare MYO Kobalos

Note that in order to claim your Kobalos, proof must be shown. I will do my best to keep track of all the honorable mentions, but I am only human so please be patient!

Customs and MYOs do not have to follow the genetic code, however in order to breed with other Kobaloi they must be assigned a genetic code.

This code can carry any genes the owner wishes to try and breed except for albinism and melanism.

*MYOs are designed by you, Customs are designed by an artist, you can give them a pallet, and an idea of how you want them to look, Custom claiming also includes the Artist searches. Any artist who is being asked to make a custom can refuse to make it.

Chances of Appearing: no deformities 10% I 1 deformity 5% I 2 deformities 1%
If A DM Kobalos is bred with another DM Kobalos raise the chance to appear by 30%, randomize chance for the type of DM based off of parents
Ex: DM - L + DM - T = a.) DM - L b.) DM - T c.) DM - T + L (split chances equally)
If bred with a Kobalos who does not have a DM nor is related until the 2nd generation, the DM chances are halved (5,2)
If Bred with a Kobalos who does not habe a DM, but is related in the 2nd generation, keep the chances the same

Blindess

Chances of appearing: no deformities 50% I 1 Deformity 25% I 2 Deformities 15% I 3 Deformities 5%
If bred with a Kobalos that shares no family ties since the second generation, chance for passing DB is 25%
If bred with a Kobalos that shares family ties since the second generation, chance of pasing DB is 65%
Breeding two Kobaloi together with DBs with result in a DB pup
Breeding a DB1 and a DB2 Kobalos together will result in a DB3 pup

Breeding two Kobaloi together with DDs with result in a DD pup
Breeding a DD1 and a DD2 Kobalos together will result in a DD3 pup

Litter Sizes:
2 Pups 75% chance
3 Pups 25% chance

*Nursery Artists can use whatever number generator they want to decide the mutation chances

Events happen around different celebrations, for example Christmas, or Halloween, or the Anniversary of this Species.
Each Event Page has its own set of rules and can be found under the main thread with a link in the comments as well.

These are all the Events we've had so far with a link to their Archive
