Preparation
I need to think carefully about what I bring. "Of course, I'll need a few sets of clothes. I can always wash some or wear something two days straight." I choose my most comfortable clothes, and fold them carefully, to save space for other things. Elek, my pygmy drake, perches himself on the edge of my suitcase, watching with curiosity. I put together a small sewing kit, in case I need to patch something up, as well as a first-aid kit, in case I need to patch someone up. I also pack some food for myself, and some food for Elek, mostly nonperishable stuff, of course. We could always catch some fish for extra protein. Soap is always nice to have, and I seem to have an abundance of it, so I pack two bars, though I doubt I'll even go through one. I pack a shovel, some torches, and a fishing rod, then dedicate the rest of the space in my bag to my map-making equipment.
