Quirk ▪ The Beast Form (Shape-Shifter) -
Her quirk allows her to take the form of a large wolf.
It stands at a height of 53" (4' 5") with red-brown and
tan fur and blue eyes. She also gains the wolf's
heightened senses of hearing, sight, and smell, though
they are not anymore enhanced than the average wolf.
She is still able to speak and be understood in this
form though. While there isn't a time limit of how long
she can be in this form if she uses a lot of energy in
battle, she begins to lose the ability to sustain the
wolf's form and that depends on how much energy it is
using. If she crashes due to using too much energy, it
can take up to a week before she can safely use the
wolf form again.
Quirk Side Effects ▪ The more emotion she feels
and puts into the form - rage being the most effective
-, the more powerful it is, but also more destructive.
As her specific beast form is so much larger than average,
it is also more advanced in instinct and mind so it is much
harder for her to control. She has yet to learn how to use
as it seems no one can help her handle its power. She has
yet to learn what really "triggers" the beast's rage, but
deep down she knows that this is the key to learning to
"become one" with her quirk and it's wild instincts. Until
then, she must always worry about the possibility of the
wolf's wild rage taking over and losing control of it until
its strength runs out and it finally gives up control again,
leaving her exhausted and totally drained, not to mention
shaken by the experience.

She is a girl that most seem to avoid thanks to her stern and seemingly hostile nature. This is not something that bothers her as she is rather secretive and quiet around others, choosing more to observe than to mingle the company of others. She is a very serious person and with such seriousness being the root of her "hostile" ways, she does not mess around in any aspect of what she does, sticking to the facts and the task at hand than anything else. The other root of her stern and "stone-faced" exterior is the fact that she conceals many of her emotions, only showing as few as possible; the only emotions shown being the ones of distrust, suspicion, anger, etc. No one ever sees her smile or laugh and no one has seen her shed a tear. Kaede knows that many people try to avoid her with this icy demeanor of hers but she has no problem with this as that was the reason she created this facade in the first place; to protect herself. That is all that this is after all; a mask that she hides her true heart behind. Underneath the icy fortress walls, Kaede is the most loyal person you will ever meet. Anyone who ever earns her trust can be sure they have a reliable ally for life. She will die for anyone that she has placed in her heart and shall defend them with a vengeance. She is an honorable and chivalrous person and has a kind heart to all manner of beasts and those less fortunate. Few people know of this hidden heart and even fewer have ever found their place there. She has much more to her than just what is seen on the outside, but for those who have found their way into her heart, be warned. This trust and loyalty she gives is a one time chance. Should you somehow in some way betray her or make her feel like she was used or mislead in any way, she will shut you out entirely and there in no hope of her ever opening up to you again. Kaede was accepted into UA by Recommendations...though it was more of a plea for help from the elders of the family. To begin, Kaede was born to Ryouta Akatsuki who is a highly respected hero of the Akatsuki family name and to Akane Akatsuki, his wife. Though they were the happiest they could be with each other, the elders of the Akatsuki were not at all pleased with the marriage. Why? Akane is quirkless; she came from a respected family herself, but she was the first in a long while to not gain a quirk. Regardless, Ryouta and Akane married and came to have Kaede soon after. And when she was born with Akane's blonde hair and blue eyes rather than her father's black hair or red eyes, they assumed she would be just like her mother. Time passed and Kaede grew and the time came where quirks began to appear in the other children of her class. More and more began to show their powers, but nothing happened with Kaede. Still, her father and mother encouraged her to not worry, that they believed in her no matter what. Still, the judging eyes of her cousins and the elders of the family did not help ease her worries. And then it appeared one day while she was trying to play with some of those cousins that mocked her, using their family quirks of their animal forms to taunt her because she could not keep up. Finally, one of them with the Beast form of a black raven with red eyes flew into her and knocked her down, calling her "quirkless loser" and "unwanted". As if that wasn't hurtful enough, he added, "You're just as useless and unwanted as your dumb and powerless mother! You'll never be anything but-". And it was then the true beast was set free. Suddenly, Kaede's icy blue eyes darkened and her body enveloped in light as it's shape changed and morphed. Like her father's form, Kaede became a wolf, but no one had ever seen one of the Beast Form quirks become so large; she also had red-brown and tan colored fur rather than the usual black fur of all the other Beast forms. Usually for Akatsuki Beast-Form users, the quirks manifested as young animals and grew up with the children and allowed them to begin and always be as one. But Kaede's appeared as a full grown wolf and so she had no hope as only a young four-year-old to control such a great beast. As Kaede's wolf form towered over the small bird form of her cousin, an angry scowl and snarl stretched across her lips, her muscles tensing as she - or the wolf - snarled, "Who's the powerless one now?". The force was frightening to them all and they all fled to their homes in fear of the true Beast of the Akatsuki quirk, but before the raven could run and before anyone could stop it, the wolf struck out and its claws tour the feathers of his wing, damage that will never heal. And then the wolf and Kaede collapsed in exhaustion. The elders were informed and they all met to speak on the matter, their disappointment suddenly becoming fear. They were too frightened to even try and make peace with Kaede after the misfortune they'd brought her and her parents. They removed her from public schools and isolated her to the estate. They tried to force so kind of control upon her, figure out some way to control and maintain the beast, but no one, not even Kaede's father, could effectively contain it once it had full control. It was as if it had a mind of its own, a driving emotion or thought process that allowed it to take control. Kaede's father did what he could to try and help Kaede learn to use her quirk as he too had the beast form of the wolf, a black furred one, but already her form towered over his and so there was only so much that he could do to help. At least they learned that the wolf form would get quiet and "relax" slightly when in his forms presence, but only for a moment. As for her mother's contribution to help Kaede, she had begun to teach her daughter a secret art of traditional shinobi swordsmanship and fighting long before her quirk had manifested, a way to defend herself if needed against villains should she end up not having a quirk just as her mother didn't. That training continued as she found she could not control the wolf as it made Kaede and her mother feel better knowing she had some ability to fight and defend herself in battle until she learned to become one with the wolf. Finally, with no other choices in their minds and their fears growing more and more by the day of the "Akatsuki Beast", the elders ultimately decided to recommend her to the UA Academy once she was old enough to help train her and her quirk. When it came time to leave home, to leave the countryside for the city and her parents behind, Kaede found it hard to leave. Her parents are all she feels that she has and even with the danger of her quirk, they support her to the fullest and encourage her that one day she will be able to possess and control it. As she'd hugged her mother, she'd whispered into her ear, "Go and show them how great of an alpha wolf you are going to be." She'd had the brightest and yet the saddest smile that Kaede had ever seen on her face as she said that. From that day forward, she's vowed to be a hero that her parents can always be proud of and that they taught her to be; a hero that protects the weak and mistreated souls of man from the evils of villains and the terrible natures of humans alike.
