{ I'll assume the "unsettling island" is Fays Peninsula, since it fits the description. let me know if I'm wrong. }
❀ ❝ SAKURA ❞

Sakura merely laughed back, not at all fazed by her sister's comeback. "I'm not dead yet, am I?" she remarked. Following her into the waters before them, Sakura felt almost frozen from paws to tail-tip. The ocean obviously hadn't gotten a chance to warm up to the sun yet, and it sent unsettling feelings down her spine as the liquid surrounded her. She eventually was forced to swim here or there, being a bit of a smaller cat, and Neve's stop caught her off guard.
Wading through the water until she was shoulder-to-shoulder with her, Sakura noticed that the fellow feline felt wary. It concerned her all the more when she heard her whisper. Beaches weren't usually that creepy, were they? This cant be the right place then.. she thought. Leaning over to Neve, Sakura kept her voice low as well. "Neve, do you think you can describe what it looks like around you?" she whispered. "As much as you can, please."

Feather nodded, though still a bit unsure. Birds flew, didn't they? So wouldn't they be harder? Noticing she had zoned out for a short while, she shook her head and snapped out of it. Embarrassed, she hurried over to the cover of bushes not too far away. Now that she had a better view of the bird, she angled herself so that she was down-wind, and headed over to a nearby tree. Luckily it's branches crossed with those of the tree the cardinal was on, and she carefully climbed up it's trunk. Hooking her claws into it's thick bark, she hauled herself onto a branch just above her, and began crawling along it.
Struggling to keep her balance, she continued along until she was only a few feet away from the bright red bird. It was focused on eating it's own catch, a worm, but she knew it wouldn't take long. She had to make this quick. After one last heartbeat of hesitation, Feather took off with a leap towards the bird. She felt her paws hit feathers, and she unsheathed her claws to hook onto a wing. But, beginner's luck was not to be. Now in an unbalanced state, she fell with the bird into an ungraceful pile of fur and feathers onto the forest floor below. Wincing, she hauled herself up to look at her catch. Both wings were broken, and multiple feathers were missing. Well, at least I caught it... she thought optimistically. Picking up the bird, she headed back over to where her mentor was.
