After the Apocalypse

Ten years have passed since the ending of the last war, The war of desolation.
A catastrophic war broke out between all countries. No more country aiding country or comrades in arms. There were plenty of warning signs and there were so many ways it could have been prevented. No one was willing to compromise. No one was willing to admit that they were wrong or to accept change when it stood before them. So the war came and destroyed most of the world's civilizations. There are few left out of the millions who once lived. Naturally, those who were in power at the time of war are long gone. Still, the world is divided. The community that we are in is divided. People are still scared of each other. Greed and self-preservation is what drives them.
To survive we do what we have to. Boys and girls who would normally be happy children have had to become adults before their time. To provide and protect themselves and their families. This is how life is now. It is not how it has to be though. You can be a part of something different, something far greater. We can survive as we are, living day to day and never knowing what to expect, or we can band together and thrive. As one community, as one country, and one people. For that to happen we must make changes and sacrifices.
The world had become a much more dangerous place to live. Every day is a test of survival. You must learn to survive or die. No one can afford to carry the extra weight of someone who is not willing to carry their own. Life in this world has truly become survival of the fittest. It is a cruel cruel world where you won't know who to trust. Forming alliances and survive together might be your best bet at staying alive. You will find that there are many who do not see things the same way. They prefer to stay alone and not have to worry about another.
Since the war ended and so few of the human race is left, wildlife has thrived. Their numbers have increased and they have taken to living in the towns and cities as well as the forests. Animals that were once entertainment for people in zoos and preserves have regained their wild nature and run wild in both forest and cities alike.
Ultimately it would be best to form a new civilization. To not make the same mistakes of those who came before us and turned our world into the hellish wasteland that it has become. Like the ashes of a phoenix, we can be reborn. Life can be reborn and can be made better, stronger, and longer lasting. We can not afford to make the same mistakes as those who came before us. To survive we need to work together. Your life is in your hands. What path will you take? What will you decide? Your life is now....

Most all of the once beloved and admired skyscrapers have fallen. Only the lower levels still stand. In fact, most of any taller buildings are long gone. only a few buildings remain intact at all. The library, police department, one school, and a hospital are all that still fully stand. (Aside from some residential places that were spared but not many) Of cores, none of these places are staffed anymore. No police, no school teachers, no doctors. The government cleared all of these buildings first. No patients were even left in the hospital and no one was left to take control after things fell into turmoil.

Dom is the kind of guy who can be hot headed. He doesn't take threats and is always u for a challenge. He is an all in kind who will never hold back. He stands up for what he believes in and what he knows is right. He is not afraid to defy law, government, religion, or anything else to keep those he cares about or those he protects safe. He would walk into hell to protect his family. Dom is not the kind to ever back down. He can come off as a real hard ass, but once you get to know him you will never find a more loyal guy no matter how hard or how far you would e willing to look.
History
Dom lost his parents when he was young. He did everything he could to keep his twin sister safe. They were passed around from one foster home to another for a long time until they fell through the cracks. Unfortunately his sister was killed in a drive by shooting about fifteen years back. Dom lost it and was out for blood. At his side, like always was Ryker, a boy who had been passed around about as much as he had. They stayed together even after falling through the system. Together they go t even with those who killed 'their' sister. Both have been in this hellish war and managed to survive. They were among the few who came back from the battle field. Now they must survive on their own homeland.

History
Like Dom he was passed around through the system from the time he was a small child. He doesn't remember his birth family at all. from the time he was ten to, Dom, and their sister were always together. They even took the same name once they were out on their own. History
Dawn hardly remembers life before the war. She grew up being afraid of the outside and was just old enough to remember when they started to evacuate the cities. Her father and brothers left long ago to go off into the war, leaving only young Dawn and her mother alone. The boys never came back, and Dawn assumed they had been killed during the war. Dawn's mother passed away on Dawn's 20th birthday, due to lung cancer. Since then Dawn has been on her own. Dawn has settled in a small refugee camp, with only a few buildings left standing around for shelter. All she has is the knowledge of healing her mother taught her before she passed.

Nora is a watch and listen kind of girl around people though she's not shy in the least. She's a big risk taker and likes to be the first one to try things out, the more questionable it is the more likely she is to do it. She doesn't like staying in one place for too long so leads a rather nomadic lifestyle to keep herself happy. Nora trusts fairly easily, giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. She likes to have fun and is a very on the go kind of girl that can have a hard time just chilling and taking a break when there's stuff she could otherwise be doing.
History
Nora's parents were young, Scottish newlyweds when they had her and given the circumstances were more than wonderful parents to her. Unfortunately she was left fatherless when her father, like many others around them, were forced to go fight in the war. This left only her mother to watch a headstrong, independent Nora. The two eventually had to pack up and move their small home with as much food and water as they could carry as well as Nora's trusty cat Zombie. They landed in the company of dozens of other refugees seeking shelter. Many died off as they moved from place to place often as one area became unsuitable for one reason or another. Eventually it dwindled down to a group of only about ten or so who ended up on the outskirts of a once glorious city but was now merely piles of rubble and skeletons of fallen buildings. When they found this place, it became their permanent camp as shelters were built or reinforced and stockpiles were slowly made of important necessities. When everything settled down and her mother grew comfortable, Nora couldn't help but grow restless as more days passed of staying in the same spot so she eventually packed a bit of food and some water in her backpack, said goodbye to her mother and went off on her own at the age of 18 with her cat as her only companion. She's been on her own ever since, settling for a couple days here and there with the odd refugee group but never staying in one place for too long.

Phoenix is a very determined and bold person. She is strong in both body and mind. She is protective of hose she cares for yet is not the kind to show much affection. She is loyal but will not allow herself to be used.
History
Phoenix was the oldest of three children. She lived a semi normal life for the first few years of her life. However her father was soon drafted into the war. Her mother grew ill and passed, as did the two youngest children. Phoenix was left alone. She has been on her own since she was around thirteen. Well, she was more or less on her own before then but that is another story for another time. When she was about fifteen she found a woman who was on the brink of death. She had a child with her of maybe six months old. Phoenix stayed with the woman and helped her as best she could for about two weeks until she had passed on. The woman had asked Phoenix to take care of the child. She had not named the boy for fear of him dieing. Phoenix agreed and took the child with her when she left. She gave him the name Raven after the black birds that are said to hold magical power and the ability to transcend realms. The name Victor was after her younger brother who passed away. Weathers is her family nae from her father.
