"Bring her here or I'll let myself starve or drown." said Cybil lowly, "I don't want some fake deer's milk." She shut her anger-filled eyes and gave a little huff. "Or better yet, bring my whole family." she stated, "We'd be happy to get off that ship for a while." She tried to get warm, but was unable to. She was cold from being licked. She thought about her family, which only made her start crying again. She missed her siblings smashing up against her and her mother's scent and warmth.

Mary drew up a dose of painkillers and swabbed Alessa's arm. Alessa yelped as she was stuck with the needle. The pup began to get tired. She laid on the table and passed out. Mary sat against the wall, watching the door. She wanted to hurt Vojak and Amorette like they had hurt her. Mary then shook her head; she had never wished harm on anyone before. "No, you'd be no better than them..." she whispered.

Ran pricked her ears. The wind was growing stronger, and the ship rocked as if a kraken was pushing against its hull. Her creatures, two already on the row boat, reached out to grab the serval. Their paws were studded with claws, ready to hook into his wet fur and pull him up. They were both stretched forward, their vacant white eyes almost eager. Ran herself remained silent, up until the moment that the saber cat launched herself at one of the beasts standing beside her. The creature was torn in half by the impact, its colors fading to shadow.

The fox was taken a-back, her jaw falling open. She turned to Chokka with a malignant stare, "do you really want to fight now? If it comes down to it, I'll drag you onto my ship." Ran looked so small, with the wind flattening her fur and exposing her skinny frame. But there was no mistaking the air of majesty she carried with her; her presence demanded respect.

"I cannot bring them back. That is up to the those in the sky and others in the sea." Kummerspeck shook it's head. It wished it could do more to satisfy her needs, but failed to withhold that power. Spiraling around her, she ruffled her scales, in an attempt to keep her warm. The creatures philosophy was if she got hungry enough, she would eat.

Mortimer made no protest, when he was hauled into the boat. Shaking the water from his coat and hollered out. "Don't bother with him!" Please! He pleaded to himself. "He'll be to much of a hassle! He was dumped here due to treason!" A quick thought, out of desperation caused the lie to be revealed. The coloration and feel, in combination with over all appeal bothered him. Though tried to ignore it.

Chokka grinned wicked at it's sudden disappearance. Power and authority over flowed her. It was a blink of an eyes, the colorful creation had vanished. "Ha! I'd like to see you try!" Her voice was littered with challenge. This fox's appeal disgusted her. It seemed as if she sought herself as a god! That was unbearable.

"Right..." muttered Cybil, "Sure you can't." She didn't believe Kummerspeck at all. She figured it was some sort of way to break her and to make her rely on the creature instead of her own mother. Cybil took a shaky breath, longing to fall into unconsciousness. When Cybil did fall asleep, she sprawled out on the rock and moved her paws as if she was running. Her face twitched, as did her ears. The pup cried for her mother and siblings, trying to return to them; but she moved no where and they only got farther away. Her lips twitched as she tried to call for them, showing her pale, almost white gums; she was very dehydrated at this point.

Resting it's head on the warmth of the ground, it wait patiently. Flicking it's tail over her gentle body. The cries echoed sent a shutter down it's spine. Readjusting as she stretched out for her as she moved. Hopefully in due time she would comply and suckle from the offered female. If not, Kummerspeck would persist in other ways.

Cybil woke up yelping and still moving her paws. Her vision was becoming blurry and she felt very hot. She started to pant to cool herself down. Her ears were red, showing she was beginning to show signs of a fever. Cybil stumbled off the rock and wobbled to the water. The pup could barely walk straight as she slumped down in the shallow water. Cybil felt like throwing up and like she was on fire all at once. Cybil's eyes rolled into the back of her head and she promptly passed out; the dehydration was very obvious at this point. Her face slipped under the water and her body didn't react at first. After waking up, Cybil gasped for air as her body shook; she had no control over the movement of her limbs.

The situation started brought an audience. Other serpents gathered around, wearily wandering over to the convulsive canine. Kummerspeck was brain dead for a moment, unsure how to respond to this situation. It passed rather quickly and a quick second she changed the deer to look like her mother, to it's best ability. Some things were off, but a faint smell would linger. Picking up the small pup it dropped her closer to the deer. Hoping she would recover soon and suckle. If not, she wasn't sure what to do, and would wait it out. Unless someone else took charge... Which seemed foreboding, with the now present crowd. Long necks slunk over in on the scene, confused and curious.

Cybil cried mostly out of confusion. She couldn't stop until several minutes later. She slumped on the pebbles, too weak to do much. Cybil's eye shifted as she watched the other creatures surrounding her. Cybil whimpered as she then looked to her "mother". She could tell it wasn't really her; the scent certainly wasn't as strong as it should be. Cybil curled up in a tiny ball, her muzzle away from her "mother".

Ran flicked an ear in acknowledgment to Mortimer, whom she somehow heard above the clamor of the storm. The serval would be helped onto the safety of the Liefle with the help of her creatures. They would gentle as they hauled him onto the deck, where more of these watercolor beasts worked the ship with the same vacant stare in their eyes.

The fox growled; she didn't have time for traitors. Turning her back on the saber, she waited for her beasts to prepare a second row boat for her escape. It would only take a moment for her to cross the chasm between this ship and hers, but that moment prepared more than an opportunity for Chokka to attack. Ran's remaining escorts fanned around her, their colors twisting with the wind. Their teeth seemed to enlarge, their claws growing sharper as they left deep ruts in the wooden deck.

A younger Guardian approached the two. It's face slithering down to the young one's eye level. "If you become malnourished, that would be a burden on not only yourself. But your family." Taking a moments paused, it continued. It's voice as sweet as scented candle, drifting in the wind. "Not only me, but others, wafted through your determination to explore, and survive. As well your honorable sacrifices. A shame it would be too see such a rarity fade away with the tide." Lifting it's massive, color extensive cranium, the Guardian gazed into the pastel distance. "Do us a favor, and thrive for us."

A sense of relief over flowed him, the ship showed stability and peace. Something was off about the crew, even more so here. Even though their lifeless stares seemed less challenging than those that withheld emotion. He dipped his head in thanks to their support.

Lashing her tail, Chokka made another go at the fox. Scaling upwards the mast, and launching herself from mid-mast. Claws extended. Her intention to bowl through anything in her way. Ran's wish to depart wasn't going to fly, unless she got a fight. Now knowing how quickly these multi-colored apparitions could be destroyed, brought a new idea to mind. It would be mighty easy to steal any treasures on her ship!
