When you received a letter in the mail stating that you'd been selected by the 'prestigious Willowtree Academy' to be eligible for placement there, it very well may have been the first time you'd heard of the allegedly esteemed school. On the surface, Willowtree Academy is a highly selective private school, which finds its students through a large-scale scouting program rather than accepting applicants. It's certainly considered a privilege to be selected by its staff. However, its students aren't chosen for their grades, behavior, athletic skills, or even their family's wealth; Willowtree Academy's scouts tour schools across the country looking for kids who are...abnormal. They could be a supernatural creature, like a vampire, faun, or mermaid, or simply someone with unexplained powers: they can talk to plants, turn invisible, start fires with their mind, or any number of truly odd quirks.
For its founders and staff, the school is a safe haven for those who are often feared by humans, a refuge where they can leave their fears behind and learn the value of peace. But, for students, its a place where you don't have to hide anymore. You can be yourself - horns, fangs, tail and all - and learn how to take full control of your powers. Of course, there may still be a bit of high school drama to navigate, but hopefully you'll make the most of your time here.
