History: Indigo was orphaned at a young age, but adopted by an eccentric pegasus, Distant Melody. He home-schooled her and they wandered around Equestria, Distant encouraged Indigo's wild ideas and daydreams. They tried their hand at doing all kinds of things, switching on to the next thing when they got bored, until Indigo finally found her talent in inventing. Because the only companion she had was her adopted father, Indigo doesn't know how to make friends, but Distant has sent her to Ponyville to do so.
Personality: Distant's eccentricity has rubbed off on her; she admits that she's a little weird, but likes being that way. She's shy around new ponies.
