Glacignis cast her eyes about as she flew towards the commotion. There were about five ferrets huddled around something. Glacignis knew it was the dead ferret, because the tip of the tail had slithered out of the huddle, and was lying limply for all to see.

She dove sharply, and landed with a thud and a crunch on the ice. All of the ferrets eyes turned to her.

[*Autumn*]

Emerald looked around. From the commotion before she could tell something was wrong. She spotted long time friend Sapphire, standing dejectedly nearby and half flew-half walked over to her. "What's going on?" Emerald asked. "I-it came back." Sapphire replied, in shock, "Another ferret was found dead." "Oh. Oh no." Emerald breathed. Although she didn't get on particularly well with all the members of her brood, they were all affected by the death of a ferret. It was a disadvantage in boarder disputes. Whose still was that the…creature was back. Emerald was certain, that there would be more mourning familes and more dead ferrets before the creature was stopped. She started over to the clump of ferrets in the middle of the nest and began pushing through.

Mustafos was still annoyed by the wailing coming from a bordering brood. He took of, flying to the border.

"Who is it?" Glacignis asked. The group shifted uncomfortably, and one turned to talk to another.

"We could let Glacignis see..." said the ferret, who was a little bit younger than her. Another ferret snorted.

"Just because you're in love with her like all the other boy ferrets," said another ferret. He faced Glacignis and gave her a mocking smirk. Glacignis felt the fur along her spine bristle. Ciles was the only male ferret who acted like she didnt deserve to know the time of day.

"Shut up Ciles, I deserve to know as much as you do!" she snarled, taking an aggressive stride towards him.

"Why do you care, it's not like you care for anyone but yourself," he said, his voice a snarl as well. Glacignis opened her jaw, ready to retort when a voice interrupted her, ripping through the throng.

"Enough!"

Emerald looked up at Glacignis when she spoke. If asked Emerald would be fine with calling Glacignis someone she could trust, a frien evn. She agreed with her, Ciles was rude and tried to command the other younger ferrets far too often. He was lazy and arragont, the oly reason he was allowed to stay with the brood was these was a decent hunger.

Mustafos slammed his paws down, inches from the border. "What is going on?!" he roared across the terrain, loud enough for them to hear him.

Glacignis looked up, over at the angry shout coming from the border. As she pushed herself off the ice and flew towards the source of the sound, she heard a muttered 'good riddance' from Ciles, and she snarled.

She landed at the border, her claws throwing up a spray of ice. She snarled as she saw the source of the shout.

It was a dark, black, red and orange coloured ferret, from one of the southern broods. His fur was bristled, and she bristled hers.

"I wouldn't think it's any of your business," she said sweetly, although there was a mocking edge to her tone. "And what are you doing so close to our territory?"

"I heard annoying yells coming from this direction, and I came overto tell you to be quiet!" Mustafos snarled.

"What we do is our business, not yours. Besides, I'm surprised you heard us through the fur clogging your ears," snapped Glacignis.

Mustafos snarled, feathers raised, and bared his fangs. "Either stay quiet or move!"
