"There's no way your body won't heal on its own?" asked Mary quietly, "I'll be honest, Kristian, I don't think I can handle another death... not now. That's why I've been so weary of opening up to you. I don't want to lose another friend, another companion." She hoped she wasn't being selfish. Mary slightly sat up and winced a little. "I-if you're comfortable enough, I'd... well, I'd appreciate your company." said Mary gently, gesturing to the empty side of the bed. She wasn't looking for anything more than someone to just be there.

He turned his head a little before shaking it
"no.. I'm afraid not.." he said
"I found zaht out ze hard vay from contracting Yersinia Pestis.. fortunately I took fluoroquinolones before it got bad."
He watched the empty side of the bed before thinking it over
"My body just has some veird vay of dealing vis certain problems. I heal physically on ze outside.. not ze inside."
Before nodding and smiling to her
"I vould also love to accompany you.. Mary. Anyzing for you.."

"It just seems so unfair..." said Mary quietly, shaking her head. She settled back down and sighed quietly. "I won't push you to have surgery." she whispered, "It's painful, I know... that's entirely up to you." Mary looked out the window for a moment. "I really do care about you." she said, "I... I love you, Kristian."

For the first time ever, he felt his heart flutter a little while putting a paw to his muzzle
She really sounded truthful, and he smiled while looking down and putting the paw to his heart
"Zank you, Mary.." he said gently and bit back tears that stung his emotional being
"It means a lot.. I.. I love you too.."
And chuckled while grinning happily

Mary tried not to tear up. "Look at us." she said, laughing a little. She lightly shook her head, then sighed a little. "This is sappy, even for me." she said happily. Mary put her paw on Kristian's cheek.

He let out a small chuckle while watching her and leaning into her paw gently
He would not dare make any extra moves where he wasn't supposed to, no extra affection where not needed
"I'm sorry.." he mumbled and looked down
"I'm too emotional.. schtupid dummkopf.."
And rubbed his eyes while grinning
"I'll be okay.."

"You apologize more than I do." said Mary softly, "Which is strange to me." She found the most joy out of just spending time together. She felt the pups kick some.

"Sorry.." he smiled
"I'm very emotional.. und appoligetic.."
He looked back up at her before shrugging

"I'm glad you share my feelings." said Mary happily. She paused for a moment, then looked to her TV that sat across the bed. "Would you be interested in a movie?" she asked, "If you're not tired?" She was sleepy, but would stay up if he wanted to watch a movie.

"I sought you vanted to rest?" he asked while shrugging
