There were footsteps, then the door opened. "who- oh my goodness, are you injured?" a kind woman's voice asked. Mya didn't answer, but it wasn't needed. "I must bring you to our village healer straightaway, he works wonders!" her voice got fainter. "I'm coming, just going to get my shawl!" when she felt the person was far enough, Mya smiled a little. "told you."

I snort. Would've gotten their attention much faster with fire, I reply, shrugging.

"yes, but sca-" she broke off as the woman returned. "my dear, you are so pale, we must hurry." she started walking, but slow enough for Mya to walk along. What do you see? Mya asked Jasmine, deeming it safer that way.

Not much. Houses, some chickens and cows, a few kids running around. Just an ordinary village, I reply, smiling wistfully.

Mya nodded. She reached up and touched her bandage. Wet. And she knew it wasn't water. "we're almost there. Are you alright?" the woman asked. Mya did seem quite pale. "I will be fine, thank you." she replied, although her voice was weak.

Hold on. We're almost there, I tell Mya, trying to comfort her. As soon as I finish 'speaking', I hesitate in my next step, glancing around warily. Something's changed.

Mya frowned. What? she stumbled a little, and it was the woman that caught her. "almost there." she repeated. Mya felt herself sway. She was dizzy.

Mya, go with the lady. I'm going to have a quick look around to make sure everything's okay, I tell her, detaching myself from her.

Mya widened her eyes. "Jasmine!" but she knew she wouldn't come back. The lady looked at the two, but didn't ask any questions. She kept supporting Mya until they arrived at a door, where the woman knocked. "it's here." Mya nodded but couldn't do anything else.
