nadezhda enjoyed being able to watch her second fight from the sidelines, she needed to see how octavia had improved. the commander sat in a chair just outside of the ring. she watched as octavia analyzed oskar. nadezhda knew that oskar didn't seem like an opponent that would be hard to defeat. he wasn't particularly muscular and was still pretty young but he was very skilled. oskar seemed to look over octavia as well. nadezhda nodded. "begin," she said coolly.

The word 'begin' had barely left the commander's mouth before Octavia sprung toward her new opponent and distracted him with an obvious blow. Waiting to take him off-guard, she planned to trip him from behind the knee and get him on the ground. Once she felt he was sufficiently distracted, she kicked the joint and waited for him to fall.

nadezhda leaned forward a bit as octavia immediately leap towards oskar. oskar didn't get away from being kicked in the back of the knee but he did swing back at octavia immediately after being struck to the ground. he leap back up and quickly strung down at her strongly. it was amazing to see the power he could summon, even being so lanky.

Oskar's deftness and quick speed surprised her and she commended him mentally in between strokes and parries. Without a second thought, she began to observe his moves when she wasn't distracted by her own to try and find a weakness. He seemed to favour his left side and that made her wonder. Striking off a parry, she dated to that side and tested his reaction time, proving herself right: he was slower there. Falling back in the routine of strike, feign,parry, she waited for her moment. When the timing was right, she'd pivot and slap his side with the flat of her blade before a few physical blows would turn the tides.

nadezhda smirked, glad to see that oskar had remember his training. maybe octavia would learn something from him, like how to strike an opponent from below. she did plan for oskar to instruct octavia a bit later on. it would be a sort of reward to octavia if could defeat oskar. she watched as octavia started to gain the upper hand after finding a loophole in oskar's fighting, favoring his left side. it was a habit nadezhda had tried but failed at breaking. oskar was now covering both of his sides better, making sure she couldn't find a place to land a final blow.

Her attempts at landing a decent blow were easily averted by Oskar. It was getting to the point where she was feeling frustrated and began to slip up. When he nailed her a few times, she cleared her head again and tried again. Perhaps thinking a little more emotionally, she began to react a little more wildly. Unorthodox and frowned upon, sure but it would make her unpredictable.

so he's blocking more now and she is becoming more wild with her strikes, nadezhda observed in her head. she needed to take that up with octavia, that it was important to not lose her focus and become too wild. despite her unpredictable blows, oskar will managing to parry most of the blows and even get a few hits on her. suddenly, the doors to the room flew up. "heda! azegda!"

when the doors flew open, Octavia didn't flinch, didn't even stop until Azgeda froze in her mind. She didn't know much Trikrugedasleng, but she knew what that meant.
Immediately leaving the ring, she moved up toward Nadezhda to flank her. It likely wasn't her place but it was instinct. Others had joined them now and she knew they'd have to move, "what shall we do, Heda?"

nadezhda jumped up from her seat as the doors opened. "calm down, what happened?" she asked the warrior who had run into the room. "a small patrol of trikru were ambushed by azgeda and think they may attack again, they sent a messenger to polis to get help," the warrior explained quickly in trigedasleng. she turned to octavia. "come with me, we're going to get ready to go to trikru," she told her. "oskar, bring three horses for us," she told her. "yes, heda," he said before running off. the commander swiftly started to walk towards the lift, hoping octavia was in tow.

As if on cue, the skaikru native fell into step behind the commander as they exited the arena and went for the horses. Luckily for her, she felt far more confident in the saddle than in the arena so this would be more her specialty. Sheathing her sword, she took a chestnut mare from Oskar when he came out with three horses in tow.
"Good battle," she said to him once she had her horse, mostly out of respect for their spar. She mounted her steed and waited to go.
