The Open Streets

You had heard about this place many times on your master’s picture machine. A land where people and pets could live in harmony. A land where pets could roam free in the streets. A land where there was no abuse or obedience training. A land of pet paradise.

You snuck out of your owner’s house through an open window, taking a map of the state with you on your way out. Landing on the ground with a thud, you sniffed the air and felt the soft grass between your paws. This was the freedom you had imagined. You looked at the map, spotting the pet paradise to the north and made a mad sprint in that direction, glancing back to make sure your owners didn't follow.

By the time the sun was rising, the city was in your sights. Happily, you bounded up to the edge of the city, pushing your way in through a tight alleyway. As you came to the end, you could see the city lights, with pets and owners bounding along happily. You sniffed the air, detecting nothing but happiness, and decided this was your new home...

Laws of the Street

As you wander the streets, you stumble upon a sign near the actual entrance. The sign reads:

“Dear pet owners (and pets too),

While we are aware of the free reputation of this city as a pet paradise, we do have a code in place to keep things safe for everyone. We hope you understand these rules, as they are made to help, not harm.

Do not injure or eat other pets. We would not want anyone going home sad.

Pets must be nice to each other in play and social interactions. If a pet is misbehaved, they may have to be leashed.

Pets may form packs, but all animals in a pack must be treating each other with equality. There may not be any 'dominants' or 'omegas'.

Pets must not be aggressive to owners.

Pets must be trained to not be destructive.

Pets may not commit crimes.

Failure to follow these rules may result in your pet being locked up, forced to be leashed, or in severe cases put down. Please keep our streets safe!”

Rules

1. All of Tess’ rules apply, as well as any of the usual roleplay rules (no injuring/killing without permission, no godmodding, no Mary/Gary Sues, etc.)
   
2. Try not to cause out of character drama. In character is fine though.
   
3. Keep out of character talk primarily on the discussion forums
   
4. Your pets are allowed to break the rules of the streets, though there will be consequences (in roleplay) if they are caught. (Also, humans are NPCs. Anyone can control one whenever they want.)
   
5. You don't have to be super detailed, but please try to write at least three sentences per response.
   
6. You can have as many characters as you can handle, and you don't have to keep genders even. On the other hand, try not to have too many of one species.
   
7. I'd prefer if you have your character forms in separate posts, especially if you write a lot.
   
8. Fade to black if needed (mostly for violent tussles)
   
9. Most pets will be strays, but you can have owned pets in limited amounts

This is a stray animals roleplay, but it is certainly not limited to just dogs. You can use any domestic animal out of the following species:

(ask me if you want to use something not listed here, and by “Ask First” I mostly mean about the breed. Horses are not allowed at all, and neither are fantasy animals/animals with powers. Sorry for any inconveniences.)
